For me its got to be the World Cup in Korea & Japan in 2002!

I was a HUGE fan of the Brazilian superstars like Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, Rivaldo, Roberto Carlos, Cafu and so on so I was ALL in supporting Brazil at this world cup, with all the Nike Football Ads featuring them driving my anticipation levels of the charts, and they did not disappoint!

I have multiple memories of various games, I remember One of the Brazil vs Turkey Matches being on when I was in high school, then our teacher rolled in the TV on wheels and plugged it in so we could all watch it (More like he wanted to watch it but either way I was thrilled)! So this was a blast watching it with friends in school!

Then Next I remember watching the Brazil vs England game with my Dad on TV, First Owen got a goal, then Ronaldinho became the star of the show, firstly doing a stepover making Ashley Cole I think it was lose his balance, then a pass to Rivaldo to stick it in the net! Then scoring that free kick from miles out was just fantastic! And then Ronaldinho got sent off! What a game!

Next for the final, I was on vacation with one of my best mates families and another best pal, so the 3 of us got to watch the Final which was Brazil vs Germany in Centreparks down in England which was just fantastic!

It felt like it was Ronaldo who was the Best Striker in the world versus Oliver Khan who was the best Keeper in the world! What a battle!

My main man and the REAL Ronaldo did the business to get the win, which he should have got at the previous world cup in France 98 but something weird happened and it wasn't to be, so this was his redemption story! AND this was after 2 horrific knee injurys!

And another legend was the ref, big Pierluigi Collina!

All in, it was my favourite world cup ive ever seen, and in the lead up to it being in Korea and Japan, i dont think many had high hopes for it and a lot of the football was on early in the morning or right in the afternoon, but it was an incredible tournament and one I still watch highlights of to this day!

Football with players like I mentioned at the start of this story was just magic, they made things happen and went for it, trying to win, which made it so exciting to watch! The players seemed to enjoy it also and wanted to be at the World Cup!

I dont think I have ever been happier watching Football as it was all just absolute Magic!

I feel like this is the second bounty where I’m going to talk Man Utd overhead kicks buuuutttt….

The one that immediately came to mind was sitting in a pub, enjoying a beer and burger with my uni mate, watching the Manchester Derby (I want to say 2011/2012). The score was tied at 1-1 in the last 15 minutes of the game and Wayne Rooney scores this amazing winner. It was one of those moments where we couldn’t quite believe what we just saw!

Yep, we stayed for a few more beers after that.

P.S. On the other hand, most memorable for all the wrong reasons was losing the title to City on the last day of the season. In short, they needed to beat QPR and did so with a 93rd minute winner. But I’ll let someone else tell you that story. 😅

Is this the best United goal ever? I think it genuinely might be, especially given the occasion in which it was scored. We've had some bangers - the Scholes "shoooooooooot!" effort into the top corner, Van Persie's volley, Beckham and Rooney both from the halfway line, Garnacho's bicycle kick against Everton... but I think this beats the lot.

Good grief this absolutely has to be NXT Takeover New York

The worst travel day of my life lasted 27 hours (YES 27 HOURS) from Manchester to New York. Plane issues, Bus Issues, TRAM ISSUES, TAXIS ISSUES, HOTEL ISSUES. SUITCASE ISSUES. Every possible thing that could have gone wrong did

I woke up at 3am UK and got to my hotel about 6pm USA time in New Jersey and travelled to NXT Takeover New York in Brookyln

The main event was Johnny Gargano vs Adam Cole for the vacant NXT championship in a 2 out of 3 falls match. I've watched wrestling for a long time and usually in the big matches, wrestlers kick out of finishers. That happened in this match and then Gargano got hit with a finisher and got attacked by most of Undisputed Era (Adam Coles Faction) I was like okay this is the end of an amazing match

HE FLIPPING KICKED OUT OF THE PINFALL. I lost my mind, I was shaking my friend so aggressively in excitement, I couldn't believe it. Gargano overcome the odds and won the NXT title in one of my favourite wrestling matches of all time

The horrible travel journey was worth it

sounds horrendous Asim but glad you made it safe. NYC must have been amazing though

That's a heck of a journey, 27 hours! To be fair, I imagine at least 24 of those hours were stuck in the security queue in Manchester, having flown from there a few times...

I've not been one for sports but if I were it'd be Ice Hockey. Just for the action, the speed, and of course the fights. I've recently started seeing a girl and a couple of months in I had met her family and extended family. She had a nephew that was a little socially awkward and introverted. Didn't have a lot of interaction with other people and often retired to the comforting glow of a screen.

I thought as a fun idea for us to do would be to go to a Ice Hockey game. Thankfully the UK doesn't have anything nearing the levels of the NHL so tickets were cheap but the atmosphere was amazing. I could tell he was really excited to see skaters on the ice, the lights, sounds, and of course, the tango ice blast. It was amazing for me as my partner and I and him all grew closer together from that one visit and I felt help him come out of his shell a little.

We still need to go again when we are all free nextime but I hope that it created a lifelong memory for the little Knight.

My favourite memory of live sports was watching Brentford FC, who is my local football club, get promoted to the Premier League. I've been to many games over the years and to finally see them make it all the way to the top was just such a fantastic feeling. Brentford have such a community feel at their ground, always celebrating big and small wins, fans staying afterwards to dance to the music and players doing a lap of honor. There's not many clubs like that around anymore and all the people within the club are fantastic. What a day of promotion that was!

Funnily enough, one of my least favourite memories also involves Brentford... that blasted 4-0 loss at the start of last season!

It's gotta be watching Arsenal win the league at White Hart Lane in the 03-04 season (on t.v). Very little can compare to watching your team win the league, NOTHING can compare to you sealing it at your biggest rivals stadium. The whole thing was made that much funnier when it came out that Thierry Henry was told not to celebrate beforehand!

I only wish I could've been a little older so I could really understand and appreciate what it meant, I had no idea how great of an achievement it really was.

It's been 20 long, hard years of being a Gunner... I just want to see us win it once, just to feel the glory and the joy, I don't think that's asking for much.

Winning the league at the home of your rivals, nothing beats it... I would love for United to win the league at Anfield or the Etihad. In fact, I'd love us to just win the league in general, or even a match, that'd be nice...

Also, funny you mention this as your favourite moment - we'll have a bounty going live early next week that this moment would also be applicable for! Keep your eyes peeled.

18 months after my mother died, my dad and I went to the AFL grand final where we watched our team win and become champions. It was so emotional for us, happy that our team had won and we were there to watch it, yet sad as we knew mum wasnt home waiting for us (she never came to games with us before.) It was the first time we had been since she had died and to this day is the happiest sporting moment in my life.

Ford James's avatar

That is so lovely. I don't follow AFL, but which team is it you support? I'm always impressed at just how popular AFL is in Australia, but doesn't seem to have made its way around the world at all!

Brisbane lions supporter. This was all the way back in the early 2000's as a young teen amd i still remember it so vividly.

A bit cheesy but I had never been a big football fan and I had recently come out as a lesbian to my dad (the relevancy of this will make sense in a second hehe)

My dad felt a bit awkward talking about me coming out; not in a prejudiced way.. we're just both bad at talking about feelings and stuff hehehe. Then, a local football team were doing a 'pride' match to raise money for a LGBT charity, and he bought us tickets to go to it.

I found the actual game a little dull, but the fact that my dad had found a way to relate with me and show he was supportive meant the world! I really enjoyed it and it was a sweet bonding moment for us I think <3

As a child, I was raised in social care, at this point I was very young and I think, this is probably my best memory of live sports.

I was in a children's home called Raven House in a city called Corby, if we behaved, then we got a monthly reward, in this month the staff had chosen to take us to Wembley stadium.

What they didn't tell us was that we were going to be in a "box" and not in the crowd, so we were going to see a team called "The Cobblers" against whom I don't remember, but instead of going into the crowd, we were lead along a corridor to a room, this was a box they called it, but what was in it, oh my god.

So the front was like pure glass, you could see down onto the pitch, it was heated, we had comfy chairs to sit on, and a buffet was laid out, we had unlimited soft drinks, sweets, you name it.

That is probably my best memory of live sports in terms of being a kid.

As a parent for sport.

Watching my 7yr old autistic daughter absolutely slaughter 8 older boys in a running race and when I say slaughter, my daughter is fast, she left them for dust, her hair streaming behind her, crossing the finish line and then pumping her fist into the air in victory. That was epic.

Man, that's such a great memory as a kid. I'm lucky enough now to have had hospitality at a few football matches as an adult, but if I got to experience that as a kid my mind would have been blown. The Cobblers are Northampton Town, right? They've only been to Wembley once, so you likely saw them beat Swansea City 1-0 in 1997!

My happiest memory of watching live sport was the day Usain Bolt won the 100m Gold at London 2012. My family and I had gone to a family friends house for a large gathering where a lot of the local community had joined them for a garden party and I just remember someone running outside whilst we were all playing football or on the trampoline in the garden to say that the 100m was about to happen. We all piled into the living room and watched in awe as Bolt dominated the event. The 2012 Olympics was possibly the greatest event I’ve ever had the pleasure of being around for and being in the city at the time was monumental.

Living in the time of Usain Bolt’s career was something that can only be compared to living during Muhammad Ali’s career or Michael Jordan. Humanity will have to evolve or shoe technology will have to improve significantly to see a better pure athlete in their discipline than Bolt. Talk about nominative determinism.

It was truly a fantastic feeling when my daughter crossed the finish line at her bike race. It's a moment of pride that I believe every parent can relate to.
