I hate foldable phones, my friend has one and he constantly gets massive issues with it, I shall stick with my iPhones lol. Big Apple nerd here.

I loved my original Motorola Razr back in the days, nice small phone, easily fits into small ladies' jeans pockets as well (don't get me started on the lack of pockets on female clothing...) And would love to get one of these new flip phones, but the tech is just not quite there yet. It is improving, the newest Samsung looks a lot durable than the first one, but the improvement took them 6 generations (if you can go by the numbers) and it's still not something I would trust.

Yeh it's going to take some work, tech confuses me sometimes lol. We make huge strides and then the simple things, we are left scratching our heads lol.

Offt I love the idea of them as I like the idea of folding your phone into a tablet but seems they have a long way to go

They do, there is definitely some improvement with each model, which is good to see. I keep watching these to see if at one point I'll think it's good enough quality for me :D

Honestly I'd argue that the most worrying thing revealed here is that the cooling is trying to dissipate heat to one of the worst possible parts of the phone. All the scratching and snapping and breaking was dramatic, but not exactly what I'd call representative of real-world conditions.

Even after watching this I'd have few reservations about using a folding phone as my daily driver.

I agree, the scratching and folding is very much pushing the limits of the hardware and not something what would happen to everyone by normal daily use, but it's informative for those who tend to drop their phone or keep it in their pocket next to keys etc. On the earlier models I found it alarming how the screen could get damaged where it's folding just from normal use over time and how easily nails could leave a mark (I have longer nails and often use them for typing as on a small screen its more accurate than my fingertips)

And indeed the heat dissipation is an alarming one. He mentions in one of his videos, that after tearing a phone apart and pointing out such design flaws some of those flaws got fixed in the next model. So it's nice to see that at least manufacturers are not completely deaf to feedback.
