Two Point Museum is one of those games that lives in our heads when we're not playing. We think about grouping our exhibits in coherent rooms, grouping rooms in coherent wings, where to put the cafeteria and the gift shop so guests flow through them, and where to put staff quarters so they're accessible but out of the way.
Good news: it's time to get those thoughts out of your head and onto the internet! If you've got a museum that developed in a piecemeal fashion and could use a bit of an overhaul, we want to see what it looks like now, and how you'd improve it.
Here's what to do:
Pick any of your current museums and take a screenshot that shows its current layout. Zoom the camera out and change its orientation to a top-down view. If it's too big to fit on one screen, combine multiple screenshots so we can see it all, and add captions if the purpose of each room isn't clear. It's best to pick a reasonably advanced museum that needs some work!
Now think: how could this be improved? And design the optimal layout of the same museum. You can write it down on graph paper and take a photo, or create a digital illustration. You must include all the facilities that a functional in-game museum would need as well as the vast majority (ideally all) of your museum's current exhibits. Think about theming, how best to display particular exhibits, guest flow, sound placement of staff and guest facilities, and so on.
Share both images in a social media post so we can clearly see the current and improved versions of the same museum side by side, and add some writing to summarise and explain the changes. What's different, and why?
We're looking forward to getting your best tips on optimal museum design!
