As a big fan of High Fidelity (the book by Nick Hornby with subsequent movie starring John Cusack and Jack Black) I've had a redeem on my Twitch channel since I hit affiliate and it's Top 5 anything. This allows people to ask me for my top 5 anything (within reason!) I hadn't had one for a while but had it redeemed yesterday and it's inspired me to do more content based around those redeems because the conversation it sparked in stream was great! So the question is what are your top 5 video game bosses? I'll go first and I'm not sure I can pinpoint this in any particular order other than 1st place is locked in!
Mantis Lords from Hollow Knight - more of a dance than a fight, once you learn the routine you can glide through that fight with immense satisfaction.
Timekeeper from The Messenger - the sheer design and colour palette for this boss is one that stands out for me, it also helps I absolutely adore this game anyway!
The Last Lord from Death's Door - now, whilst this boss is just a culmination of every previous boss' skillsets rolled into one, it delivers a really satisfying final fight. Putting you through a gruelling trek to even get to the fight before having to rely on everything you've learned before.
King Dedede from Kirby's Dream Land 1 on the Game Boy - a nostalgia nod for my top 5. I remember struggling my way through this fight as a kid, to the point the distractions in the house were my excuse for not beating it. So I locked myself in the bathroom until I beat it - much to my older sister's dismay and subsequent anger when she realised I had no need to be locked in the bathroom at all and made her wait for nothing ("nothing" as she puts it!).
Beholster from Enter the Gungeon - another one that stands out more for it's design and style than actual fight itself but I think Enter the Gungeon on the whole is stylized superbly and there's something delightfully 90s looking and feeling about a monstrous cyclops blob wielding multiple weapons!
So there's my top 5 (for now! Lets face it will always be subject to change!) but honourable mentions have to go to Elder Mist from Sea of Stars, Hades himself just for the sheer elation of beating him that first time and Dung Defender from HK as well purely for the comic relief he provides!
