Some books just stick with you. Aaaand some don't. Every reader knows the feeling of having enjoyed a book but, months later, struggling to recall exactly why or what happened.
That's when a reading journal can be handy; writing down your experience of a book while you're still reading can help it stick in your mind and deepen your appreciation of it. But for many of us it's difficult enough to find time to read in the first place, let alone add... homework.
