Can art be tasty? Absolutely!

Our family has been exploring different themes of the afterlife, and one of them is the Día de los Muertos concept, as there’s so much content around it. We watched the animation Coco and also read a kids' book, Rosita y Conchita by Eric Gonzalez and Erich Haeger.

At some point, our younger son asked for pizza, so instead of ordering one, we decided to make our own - this time inspired by the book! While the kids were playing with the dough, we rolled out three pizza bases and started decorating them based on the book's characters. It looked a bit creepy, but trust me, there were loads of laughs and fun throughout the process! I definitely recommend trying this with your family one evening.

Harry Potter and Hedwig

In this drawing I tried to imagine what Harry Potter would be like as a children's cartoon... and that's how it turned out ❤️

Inspired by the Locked Tomb books by Tamsyn Muir, or more specifically the second book Harrow the Ninth. Found a simple pattern for a skull online and crocheted/sewed on the details myself. It's Harrowhark Nonagesimus' skull symbol found on the book's spine plus the added flair of Gideon Nav's sunglasses, which is thematically appropriate given what's going on in Harrow the Ninth, if you ask me.

I could go on about the Locked Tomb for ages if you let me, but I'll leave it with this poem from the beginning of the book:

One for the Emperor, first of us all;

One for his Lyctors, who answered the call;

One for his Saints, who were chosen of old;

One for his Hands, and the swords that they hold.

Two is for discipline, heedless of trial;

Three for the gleam of a jewel or a smile;

Four for fidelity, facing ahead;

Five for tradition and debts to the dead;

Six for the truth over solace in lies;

Seven for beauty that blossoms and dies;

Eight for salvation no matter the cost;

Nine for the Tomb, and for all that was lost.

My Elite : Dangerous Commander comes with a 'little bit' of a back story.

Hey Imperial Senator Bluecrash, just a quick note to say please submit through a connected social media account if required to do so in future, as this helps us establish that you're the owner/creator of the submission (also Elite isn't technically a book or comic-related property). We've awarded one of the runner-up prizes in this case because it's clearly your own work, and because it's super impressive!

Bruno646 This is an awesome picture, but unfortunately you've made a normal reply to the thread rather than a submission. Please try again using the purple 'submit to this bounty' button, and as CMDR Henckes says in their reply (thank you!🫶) you'll also need to connect a social media account to your Just About account and submit your image through that (this helps us to verify that members are the original owners/creators of their images). We'd hate for your hard work to go unrewarded!
