So our first video on our Eve Online channel was done on November 14th 2023. This is the video

It is simply an "introduction" to Eve Online made by my son and me, my son controlling the game and myself chatting ahead and gesturing to him to either continue or move to certain points.

Could it have been better? Absolutely, I was very blase about the game and the races and how it affects you during the game. I also said the word "essentially" far too many times. We rushed this video, no doubt about it.

We could have gone into so much more detail about the races, the religions, the lores and the character creation but we didn't, we just blasted through it.

Did we learn from it? Absolutely, we now strive to make our videos better, longer and more in detail, in terms of the game itself.

Audio and sound were fine as we use Vegas to edit our videos before publishing them so all audio levels are checked etc.

I think with content creation the first video should always be the "template" you need to strive to do better than and in our case, we absolutely needed to do better.

This was my first piece of content public released on YT, I was inspired by one of the fitness youtubers. I was in great shape in my younger days, so i decided I would take this opportunity to create content documenting my journey back to fitness. Along the way I decided its not something I want to do long term. I really want to be a content creator but not on the subject of fitness as it's something I do but not my true passion, more of a necessity.

As I mentioned in one of my recent videos on my channel I'm a jack of trades and a master of none and that hinders my progress a lot as I cannot focus. I loved games at a young age and will always love gaming but I love music as well. I decided to switch my channel over to gaming. Guess what? Now i'm second guessing myself. hahaha. I want to go into music too. But i'm not giving up on gaming so this is my plans going forward.

1. Instead of doing full Let's Plays, I will cut up parts of my play through into challenges etc.. I survived 30 days in (Game), 100 Days in (Game) sort of format.

2. Have one constant featured 'evergreen-ish' game. I'm considering Star Citizen. Either that or Starfield, I love the game so much but in the state its in a lot of people are put off. The Creation Kit was just released so I might do mods videos eventually once more mods emerge or create a mod myself as I have done some for skyrim and fallout.

3. Start a second channel focused on EDM music, 2 parts video series. The making of / final product.

My problems can be easily solved if I had focus, I don't know if its a mental thing or ADD but I keep drifting off and getting lost. I'm not giving up, I want to essentially continue to create content that I can look back and say "Hey, I made that!"

I'm going to analyze my first YouTube video uploaded.

During the lockdown, I started a little series on Youtube where it was "get ready with me whilst I talk about wrestling", I spoke about one of the most dark and tragic stories of them all, the Chris Benoit story.

On reflection, I had no idea how much effort goes into creating these videos. I was super nervous, my pace of talking is very slow, the starting graphic is very poor and i think i just needed to be more educated on what I was talking about first before creating wrestling content. I think my lighting was good but my backdrop needs 100% improvement!

This was my first FFXIV duel video, and I just uploaded it to Youtube so I could link it on our Discord channel to show people how to complete the duel on healer.

I have since updated the thumbnail to it during a previous bounty, originally it was just a random one Youtube assigned to it. But this is definitely something I have learnt since then, make thumbnails!

I did use tags so yay for me doing some homework how to make my video findable, but since it has relatively small views compared to my other, later videos in the series it keeps me thinking if I done something wrong at the time and should have used different tags, or it's just the curse of new channels?

I could have wrote a longer description for the video and include tags in that as well, this is something I'm trying to pay more attention since then.

The major dislike from me is the image quality. This was a clip from a stream, which I set up based on suggestions from my raid leader, and never actually checked how the stream looked. The settings he was using didn't quite work for my config, so the quality is not good at all, pixelated with every movement (this is a curse of streaming FFXIV, really hard to get settings right, I'm still struggling with it, though it's much better since I got a capture card)

I should have also clipped the video a bit more as irrelevant Discord chat is there at the beginning and at the end when I didn't have Discord muted.

I can't recreate the video as it was during the previous expansion of the game, the best I can do is a replay at some point and record how the duel will play out in the new expansion with skill changes to the job I completed it on.

What I'm thinking to do to improve the reach of my older videos is to set up cards or links during / at the end of the video? Just haven't done that before so I'll need to look into it how to do it properly.

Reflecting on My Earliest YouTube Video

While revisiting my first video from the Nightingale challenge, I've identified several areas for improvement.

Video Thumbnail

The lack of a custom thumbnail likely impacted initial viewer engagement.

Video Description

The description was too vague and didn’t effectively explain the video’s content, which is crucial for SEO and viewer interest.

Video Quality

I should have maximized the graphics settings before recording to enhance the visual appeal of the video.

Editing Pace

Speeding up repetitive or slow sections, like climbing ladders, would keep the viewer's attention and improve the overall pacing.

Camera Movement

Smoother camera movements are needed as the jerky style doesn’t suit a non-PvP game and can be disorienting.

Format Adaptation

With the suggested edits and cuts, the video could be optimized for YouTube Shorts, expanding its reach and suitability for today’s quick-consumption audience.

Although I can’t change past recording settings like camera angles and graphics quality, the other four aspects are entirely within my control to improve. In facts, some of them are now in my release checklist.

I made the decision to analyse my first piece of content from the first launch of my gaming channel. Unlike my tiktok and Instagram, this was something that I was very unfamiliar with at the time and although I’m proud of those videos, I can see how far I’ve come already in such a short time. As I was still becoming comfortable talking in front of the camera, I hadn’t written a script, there were gaps and rambling, which I believe I’ve improved on since. I’m still continuing to film without a microphone as of right now but I definitely have a better knowledge now of balancing the audio to account for this (until I can afford to get one), as it was so quiet before. Editing in general, could’ve made the video so much smoother on its own.

so i want Analyse my first content about game COD / Call Of Duty.

This is quite embarrassing because previously I only used PNG and only had a mic from cheap headphones.

So maybe the minus points that I can get from my video are:

1. The mic volume is not clear, there is a lot of noise and it is too quiet

2. My speaking style is so stiff that I feel cringy.

3. I think the game sound and my voice collide

4. the game is lag or sutter sometimes

the tumbnail is really bad :'

What I learned from my content is,

I have to be careful when setting the audio in the obs recording application so that it doesn't collide or be overwritten when recording or live streaming.

I always check the condition of the mic during the recording or live streaming process, sometimes my mic always has problems during the process.

Still enjoy playing games and don't get stressed so you don't get stiff.

So this was my first Paid Promote Video about some VPN for Gamers
its quite good but not great one, especially on these things :

1. My mic is kinda echo-ing back then, and back then i was using my old mic without any filters. so its sounds whacky for me
2. The Thumbnail its self so ugly XD
until now i can't really make a good thumbnail for posts, thats why i more prefer do streaming
3. Also this has Rushed Script, because i think i made it when im sick. so its kinda embarassing

What i learned is

1. After several tries, now i have a quite good settings for my mic, so i think my Audio Quality quite better
2. If i cant do Thumbnail, better order some Commission to other people, so i can more focused on the content itself
3. I might asking first if theres a script from the sponsor, if theres none i'll make a good one (not rushed)

The first ever piece of content that I released on YouTube was a piece of music composition inspired by the comic book series Batman Eternal, titled; “If Batman Eternal Had A Soundtrack: One Shot (Main Theme)”. Where I scored an original composition for the comic, specifically to use as the main theme. I intend to revisit this idea, although I am proud of how it turned out, I know I can improve upon the following:

Honing my musician skills to play more complex melodies.
Using different effects.
Improving my mixing and mastering skills.

This was my first blog post. I was trying to make use of a new digital camera in conjunction with practicing Japanese which is why it is written in Japanese.

It is very basic but even reading it back 4 years later, it seems that I was a lot more comfortable with the kanji here. There are some sentences that I can't even read.
I'll translate it here:

Today I woke up early
The weather is rainy. Recently it has been sunny. Outside was very hot
On Saturday I had a date. We went to the Media City. We ate ice cream and went for a walk
I had a meeting at 10:30pm
I want to drink more coffee

Looking back at this, I can tell that I was working with very limited words that I knew and grammar that I could utilise which is why it kinda reads like a computer just spitting out statements. The picture I included was also a sunset from the park. I think it would have been better if I took a picture from media city rather than some park nearby my house.

Lastly I'm unsure why I flitted between past and present tense. I guess I just wanted to show off my verb conjugation skills but it doesn't read well when I do so
