Dragon's Dogma

Based on what I've seen so far, I'm half-tempted to start Dragon's Dogma 2 with a 'vacation' instead of a vocation, considering the immense and entirely new world I'm about to dive into!

But on a more serious note, for my actual vocation in DG2, I'm leaning towards the archer. In my gaming experience, the bow-wielding class often proves to be the most versatile, especially when it comes to testing the limits of game design. That's precisely my aim – to explore just how far I can stretch the boundaries and capabilities of this role.

I have picked archer on my starting character in the creator as I always tend to go for archer/ranged when it's available.

I would like to do magic a well so I was considering mage. However the great thing about archer is it later turns into "magick archer" so you get to do some mage like spell casting with an archer twist!

I'll try some version of a stealth ranged archer before I realise that my short attention span is better suits to running in, dual-wielding and tanking all of the damage!

This is me lol! My wife calls my gameplay 'stealthy-waste-of-time' lol

My first character will just be random for the fun of the lottery of it.

Once I've played around with that, my first proper vocation will be sorcerer. I'm keen to be using a more ranged approach with my main character and utilise the variety of magick to pick off enemy weak points/weaknesses.

I'd then use pawns who would be a ranged vocation and 2 vocations of closer combat specialties to draw attention away from the ranged characters and act as some beefy damage fodder.

I was interested in the Magick Archer but now its come up in the quiz result I might as well go for it.

From what iv seen the abilities look really cool and I usually take n a support class/ roll so suits my play style aswel!

I will ALWAYS go with an archer for any game that gives me a stealthy, ranged option. In every playthrough of the original game where I would be an archer, I would then upgrade that to a magic archer because the versatility of attacks is immense and incredibly useful. It just enhances a regular archer build, there's no drastic changes to anything, it all feels the same but your attacks have a little extra razzle dazzle to them as opposed to some vocations that can change their formula quite drastically. I'd be very curious to see if there are any new spells/attacks with a magic archer in Dragon's Dogma 2 so, gimme my bow and I'm ready to find out!

Nearly everyone going for archer so far!

ironically, i think Dragon Dogma was a first game where you climb on huge enemies and poke them from there, close and personal, not from afar.
