Show us your best non-digital EVE artwork for $50

One of my other passtimes outside of EVE is messing about in the garage woodworking. I am not the greatest - I am not the worst - I just like dabbling about in the garage and find it all quite therapeutic tbh - it's one of my happy places, so I was super chuffed when this bounty aligned with something else that I was planning for Fanfest.

Last year I organised the very successful NPSI meetup and charity raffle at Fanfest. We managed to raise more than £1300 for the Barnaspítali Hringsins Childrens Hospital in central Reykjavik, that specialises in providing care for children with a variety of health issues including cancer and diabetes as well as cardiovascular and neurological issues.

This year is no different, albeit because of a few things going on in my RL, I was slightly late in setting to about organising.

Here are the details for anyone in Reyk for FF, come drop by on the Sunday morning, dig deep and come and meet us for a chat!

Anyhow, I digress, during the planning of this, I wanted to do something a little bit different, so opted to use some of my RL "woodworking and electronics skills" (note parentheses, I'm not very good!) to create two one off pieces, of a Nyx and a Wyvern.

Here we go...

I grabbed a plan view of the Nyx from eve-nt ship viewer website here

and created an approximate outline of the ship here - simplifications were needed to make the cutting process easier:

which was printed on A4

which was then traced to MDF

and then cut out

shaped, and sprayed in a metallic gun metal / black

a simple stand and lights were then made and attached

I also knocked together a wyvern too using the same process:

It is painted in gold

If you could taste space ships this one would be a lemon one. 6 Eggs, 350 Butter, 350 Flour 350 Sugar and the usally extras like baking poweder, Vanilla etc.

I raised $350 for a Syrian refugees charity, on stream, creating my very painting (my mom says it looks good). Obviously an Astero.

My buddy and I then had a competition who could paint the better Stratios. He's never played EVE before and has an arts degree. I have played EVE for 2 years and have no arts degree. I think you can tell who did a better job.

In 2020 we made a colouring contest in the Alliance to include kids in their parent's hobby called Colour the Noctis!

This one was made by my wife and I. It doesn't do it justice as there is a crazy amount of glitter on it!

Feel free not to count this one, while it is a painted piece I did scan it and make some digital enhancements (mostly to clean up some edges and color work here and there).
