EVE Havoc introduced five new pirate ships: the long-awaited Angel titan, the pre-released Mamba and Mekubal destroyers, and the subjects of today’s article: the Khizriel and Alligator battlecruisers.
In our Havoc review, our community favoured the offensive capabilities of the Alligator thanks to its high DPS levels and its generous bonuses to heavy missiles. The Khizriel, or ‘Khiz’, was praised for its aesthetics but received less love for its performance. However, as you’ll see in the fits below, the Khizriel - when fit correctly - can bite almost as hard as the ‘gator.
The following Alligator and Khizriel fits have all been submitted by our veteran EVE Online community. Happy fitting.
Khizriel fits
The economical PvE Khizriel
Most players view the Khizriel through the lens of PvP, but Sturmer has identified its hidden talents for PvE activities, specifically level-three (L3) combat missions. Completing L3 missions will boost your corp standings, which will reduce taxes and fees, and grant access to higher difficulty-level missions, such as Arcs and COSMOS agents. The Khiz's talents are rooted in its unique combination of warp efficiency and DPS.
“As many have calculated, nearly 40% of mission time is spent in warp or aligning to it. With an impressive warp speed of 7.61 AU/s and a 4.83s align time, the Khizriel makes navigating through multiple gates a breeze.
“It delivers a hefty 975 DPS without implants, boosters, or overheating. That offers selectable damage types for those sceptical of the 'load hail, never fail' approach. Its tracking is reliable, and with double falloff bonuses, it can hit targets over 70km away - a significant advantage in many L3 missions.”
That DPS is still lower than that of an optimised Alligator, but the Khiz can back it up with both mobility and tanking:
“Mobility on the battlefield is another strength. The hull can reach speeds of 1,843m/s - even more for an Abyssal version - surpassing most cruisers. This speed allows quick travel to gates or swift engagement and disengagement in combat, maximising damage output or minimising incoming DPS. As for tanking, it boasts around 185 EHP/s, which is ample for any L3 mission, especially when combined with its speed and DPS.”
Sturmer has tailored his fit to tackle the frigates found in L3 missions. “I’ve opted for lock speed and nanos to enhance speed and agility simultaneously.” They’ve engineered a fit that’s cap stable with just a microwarpdrive (MWD) or shield booster. It’s a versatile fit with low slots that can accommodate inner stabilisers, damage mods, overdrives, or a damage control unit.
Sturmer believes that the Khizriel is the best L3 blitzer in EVE Online. “It’s a testament to the fact that sometimes style and efficiency can coexist beautifully.” It beats the Cynabal on damage and tanking, and it’s better suited to L3s than the Machariel, which is laden down with large weaponry and slow speeds. And what’s more, it won’t break the bank:
“The fit is pretty economical. By opting for a T1 meta cap battery and a T2 shield booster, the overall expense is significantly reduced to around 70 million ISK, keeping it off the gank radar. While the hull itself carries a higher price tag, for me, the additional cost is a worthy investment for the style and functionality it brings to the table.”

The dual-prop autocannon Khizriel
Consider Sturmer’s cost-effective fit the budget option compared to FUN INC’s no-expense-spared premium powerhouse. In his words: “It’s blingy, but it’s worth it.” With almost 400 million ISK’s worth of fittings, this bad boy will set you back over a billion in total. But it will be the envy of the empires, and it won’t take any prisoners.
All of this bling naturally raises the risks of a ganking. But with a dual-propped fit complete with six 425mm autocannons, a web and point, skirmish bursts, gyrostabilisers, RAH (reactive armour hardeners) and MAAR (medium ancillary armour repairers), valkyrie drones, and EC drones, most attackers would think twice before attacking funinc’s ship, which he’s named the Ding Dong. Of course, if you’re still struggling to discourage gankers, we do have a free anti-ganking masterclass for that.

Alligator fits
The vari-drone Alligator
The Alligator has a range of DPS-linked strengths, most of which stem from its bonuses to heavy missile damage and drones. While orik Kado isn’t a huge PvPer, they nonetheless love the Alligator’s ability to deal sustained DPS. They’ve designed a fit named The Yacaré for defending the ESS (Encounter Surveillance System) against cruisers and battlecruisers. Equipped with four different types of drone and a whole arsenal of missiles, you best hope this Alligator doesn’t see you later.
Orik points out that the Alligator’s drone boosts compensate for its speed shortcomings:
“While your opponent focuses on escaping or moving out of missile range, the drones will gradually catch up and start applying damage. Even if they try to destroy your drones, it will take a considerable amount of time, thanks to the drones’ bonuses. You’ll have the time to analyse your situation then plan your next line of attack or retreat. After all, sometimes it’s better to live to fight another day.”

The drone-and-brawl tournament Alligator
Next up, we have an Alligator fit named The Pew from Kane Carnifex that has been built specifically for getting up close and personal in Alliance Tournament brawls. It has been designed to meet the current tournament regulations, so it contains no T2 rigs, no faction mods, and observes the required limitations on its implants.
As a result, pilots get considerably higher DPS than they would with a Drake in a faster, tankier model. Kane also considered an alternative build which uses the drones to shield-kite “like an alligator on Redbull”. However, in the end he opted for this fit because “in our hearts, we all love a good old brawl.”

We’ll leave you with @JAKEL33T's’s no-thrills fit, designed for Insurgencies and PvPvE encounters. Jake’s fit prioritises drones, with missiles taking a backseat support role. While a passive-tanking option may be preferable for PvE, Jake has opted for the stability provided by a web scram for potential PvP encounters. Watch the video below, in which Jake showcases the ship and takes viewers through his choices.
