Coming to cinemas in YC127! Anyone who knows the depth of EVE lore knows that if there were ever to be an EVE Online movie, it’d be the greatest space opera ever made. New Eden is an unforgiving and ruthless galaxy filled with pirates, politicking, legend, and loss. It’s a storied and rich world. But which of its many stories would best transition to the big screen? We set a series of challenges for our community of diehard EVE fans: first, we asked them to pitch the EVE Online movie of their dreams, then we asked them to make movie posters and trailers. Below you’ll find a curated selection of our favourites. Who knows, maybe we’ll ask them to make the movies themselves next. Should we?
EVE: Slaver Hounds
The light of love shines brightest in the darkest of spaces. Our first EVE movie pitch comes from greybill; it’s a tale of questioned faith, redemption, and revolution. It centres on a Khanid cyber knight - fearsome, cybernetically augmented warriors who make up the oldest of the Ammarian bloodlines.
“It’s the story of the rise and fall of an ambitious Khanid Cyber Knight who falls in love with a Minmatar slave. In doing so, his heart softens, and he comes to understand the dark side of the Khanid Kingdom and begins to question Amarrian society as a whole. This loss in faith leads to the knight’s downfall and criminal conviction. The Minmatar rebels aligned with his love see a powerful ally in the knight, and make a daring attempt to free him from his confinement. The rushed jailbreak is disastrous, many of his rescuers die, and his love is captured, though he at least makes it out alive. With his saviours lost, the knight attempts to smuggle himself into the Minmatar Republic.
“Upon arriving at the home of those who were once his enemy, the knight is challenged to prove his new allegiance by infiltrating and destroying a breeding facility for slaver hounds - powerful beasts used by Amarr to ‘herd’ their human stock. During this challenge, the knight witnesses the corruption rife within the Minmatar Republic and the criminal activities in which many of the tribes are involved. Doubts once more begin to grow.
“Nonetheless, the mission is a success. The facility is destroyed, though as a result, untamed hounds roam free, hunting slave and slaver alike. Amid the chaos, a plan takes root in the knight’s mind: he sets about taking advantage of his newfound trust and endeavours to steal a Minmatar ship, return to his homeworld, and rescue his love, so that they can escape together beyond the bounds of the miserable age-old conflict between Amarr and Minmatar. With hopes set on the Gallentean realms, the knight gets to work.”
We know at least one EVE fan is ready for it. Salartarium responded: “Send me the screenplay.”
EVE Online: The Movie
“Well pilot, what are you waiting for?” Kane Carnifex has masterfully reused CCP’s official trailers to create a gripping new promotional video for an action movie we’d pay to watch in a heartbeat. Get the popcorn ready, and be warned: there’s explicit language.
As you might guess, it was a rather effortful process. Here’s “the aftermath”:

EVE: Stars Crossed
We’ve run various fanfiction competitions here at Just, and our next would-be director has treated us to a running series of stories, together making up a galactic retelling of Shakespeare’s most famous tragedy. You can find the first of them here: EVE Online romantic fanfiction.
“Stars Crossed: a complex, classic tale of romance between an Ammarrian Juliette and a Triglavian Romeo. Baz Luhrmann’s 1996 adaptation of Romeo + Juliet demonstrated how effectively the classic story can be reimagined in a modern setting. So why not take the concept into the distant future… and space?
“The Triglavians’ unique three-in-one consciousness adds an intriguing twist, complementing the typical corporate and political drama found in EVE. This combination could very well create a cinematic masterpiece.”
EVE: SALVAGE
We love this believable and professional trailer from Rixx Javix. And yes, an Avatar Titan was harmed in the making of this video:
EVE: CONCORD’s Demise
Many of EVE Online’s best player stories have vengeance at their fiery core. Many more have subterfuge as their molten mantle. FirestormGamingTeam's idea for an EVE Online movie adds romance and roguery as the crust that binds it:
“My movie would be about a lowly pirate capsuleer whose navigation computer is hacked by CONCORD’s spies, forcing him to jump into high-security space. His ship is his pride and joy, and is worth more than he can afford to replace.
“Following the destruction of his ship and clone, he hatches a plan to reinvent himself as a respectable citizen and take down CONCORD from within. His path is fraught with danger, betrayal, heartbreak, and finally the hollow victory of vengeance. Yet at the final moment, he’s confronted with the conflicting realities of his old and new lives. Realising the error of his ways, he becomes the very weapon CONCORD sought to use to destroy his piratical corporation, saving the lives of the millions endangered by those he once called family.”
EVE: Shadet’s Eleven
Not every tale told within New Eden needs to affect its trillions of citizens. With the lore of EVE Online as its backdrop, a tale of an individual could be just as thrilling. Or in AlexGoesTheWorld's tongue-in-cheek suggestion for an EVE Online movie, the tale of 11 individuals:
“Amarr Holder’s estates are impregnable. They got cameras, they got alarms, they got watchers, they got vaults, they got enough armed personnel to occupy entire cities. Impregnable to every account but one. Pomian Shadet wants to be the one and only to enter an Amarrian Holder’s Estate, steal the contents of its vault, and get out. Alive. For it, he needs a team of all-stars, from Sevemo Asatio to Yurmon Higmann, the best the underground of New Eden can offer. It’s not going to be easy, but if they succeed… their names will go down in history.”
EVE: Stellar Miners - Forged in the Void
As the Belters of CCP-favourite The Expanse proved, the stories of mining colonies can be so much more than just a footnote in dramatic sci-fi. JAKEL33T's Stellar Miners would make them the star:
"Deep in the heart of New Eden's asteroid belts, where the glimmer of precious ore twinkles in the darkness, a ragtag crew of miners must navigate treacherous rivalries, corporate intrigue, and the ever-looming threat of piracy. As they risk life and limb to extract the universe's most valuable resources, they unearth more than just minerals – they uncover the resilience of the human spirit and the bonds that bind them together in the face of adversity. Stellar Miners is a tale of courage, camaraderie, and the quest for fortune amid the stars."
EVE: From J-Space with Love
CelestialFlea is up next with their directorial debut:
“Three unlikely cohorts with a common goal forgo their humanity to become capsuleers. To conquer time, one must make the ultimate sacrifice, but to conquer the vast unknown requires something more - something even few capsuleers have.
“Their mission: venture into the depths of an unexplored region of J-space to retrieve a mysterious Sleeper artifact causing havoc in K-space. Their mission does not go as planned. Probeless and lost in the unknown, their only wormhole back to civilised space collapses. Will they find what they’re looking for and will they ever make it back home alive?”
Capsuleer: How One Game Changed Everything
The stories of New Eden have always walked the line between fiction and non-fiction, and nobody said the EVE Online movies we requested couldn’t be true. OAF has gone outside the (sand)box:

“As a 'NuBro' to EVE still, and having achieved partner status after only playing the game for three months, if I were to create a movie, it would be a documentary about my personal experience with the game and the amazing community that surrounds it. EVE Online has had a profound impact on my life, generating new possibilities and introducing me to amazing people in a short space of time. I’m not sure there would be enough content for a full 90-minute run, but it would make for interesting viewing if we include the various degenerate activities I've got up to while streaming the game 😉”
EVE: Mission Rex
greybill's EVE Online movie is all about subterfuge and hijinks gone wrong:
“This action-packed slice of pop-culture is a must for your retinal implant. A squad of highly skilled capsuleers deploy on a secret mission. Behind enemy lines they have a single objective: take out the cyno-jammers. But no plan survives contact with reality.”
EVE: Shadow of Freedom
In their second EVE Online movie suggestion, Sturmer once more suggests turning a story they’ve written into a movie. This time, it’s their EVE Online faction fanfiction story about an Ammarian plot to disrupt Minmatar’s liberation and growth. It’s a great read, and we recommend you check out the link above. Here’s the movie poster:

EVE: Miner’s Rage
While we’re on the topic of fanfiction, be sure to check out our EVE Online horror fanfiction. Featuring an all-star cast, Limal has a suggestion for a new EVE Online horror movie that would fit our collection:
EVE: The Journey
Luka Zaharin's EVE Online movie trailer is up next. It would promote a tale of a capsuleer, suffering from deep-space amnesia, who wakes remembering but one thing: they must get home.
EVE: Blood of the Empires
But what if instead of a movie, EVE Online were an HBO series with all the budget of Game of Thrones behind it? Here’s a very special entry from our community member Rixx Javix, who has gone above and beyond. Written in the style of a press release, it’s time to introduce: EVE: Blood of the Empires.

“FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: MAX, in association with CCP Games and EVEOGANDA Films, is proud to announce the world premiere of BLOOD OF THE EMPIRES on September 21, 2025 at 9pm EST. Directed by showrunner Baltasar Kormakur (Everest), Blood of the Empires stars Tom Hardy (Mad Max), Nicolas Cage (Leaving Las Vegas), Javier Bardem (No Country For Old Men), Diane Kruger (Inglorious Basterds), and Morena Baccarin (Firefly) along with an entire universe of special guest stars, including Scarlett Johansson as the voice of Aura.

“Set in the far future with humanity trapped in another universe, Blood of the Empires is based on the legendary massively multiplayer global sensation EVE Online. The series's compelling story is inspired by events created by the legion of EVE players and is set among a galaxy of imagination unlike anything ever brought to screen before. The series primarily follows the destiny of four characters from each of the major empires as their paths lead to conflict and war that will change the face of the galaxy forever, and alter the path of humanity's future.

“In an unprecedented move, actual EVE player Bryan K Ward, known in the game as notorious pirate adventurer Rixx Javix, will be serving as head writer. The series marks his debut as a series writer, but Mr Ward has also assembled a team of writing consultants including Dan Simmons, Ernest Cline, and Harlan Ellison. "The primary goal is to tell a story about authentic characters and their personal struggles against an epic backdrop of politics, espionage, pirates, war, and intrigue, all the things that make EVE Online so compelling," said Mr Ward.

“Blood of the Empires was filmed primarily on location in Iceland, the home of game creators CCP Games and of director Baltasar Kormakur. "Iceland is in the blood of EVE; the harsh reality of the island and its history, fire, and chaos, it’s all part of the darkness we needed to tell this grand tale," he recently told Vanity Fair. Additional location and stagework was also filmed in England and the Canary Islands.

“Each episode of Blood of the Empires will also feature real EVE players who were lucky enough to be chosen through an in-game lottery process. Four lucky winners will be featured in each episode of the series.
“But EVE is primarily about spaceships and the series will feature hundreds of the iconic vessels in stunning 5k 3D. In another ground-breaking first the series will be streamed live in 3D to Oculus Rift and PS4 Morpheus subscribers. "This was Mr Ward's idea and I always tend to just go along with whatever he says frankly, the man is pure genius," said CCP Games CEO, Hilmar Veigar Petursson recently.

“Blood of the Empires has already been renewed for another season.”
