As you might’ve guessed if you’ve been following the teases on our social media, we’re thrilled to announce our latest community: Just About Nightingale!
It goes live this Thursday and we think it’s a perfect choice to be our second game-specific community. Let’s talk about why.
A realm for Realmwalkers
As you may already know, Nightingale is an open-world - open-multiverse, really - survival game with a distinctive ‘Gaslamp fantasy’ look. Players, or Realmwalkers, will fight fae monsters and scavenge resources across endless procedurally generated pocket universes, using their spoils to build a shelter that can become a splendid estate and even a whole village, if others join them.
Made by Inflexion Games, a studio that counts ex-Bioware developers on its staff, it looks to be a rare, mutually complementary blend of setting, mechanics, and aesthetics with some bold new ideas for the survival genre, and it’s already drawn a ton of interest. It’s in the top ten most-wishlisted games on Steam and saw almost 50,000 unique users log in to its recent stress test.
In other words, Nightingale has every chance of becoming gaming’s next community-driven sensation, which makes it ideal for Just About.
It’s due for its public launch into Steam Early Access on February 20, and we’re champing at the portal to bring everything we’ve learned from creating an engaged community for the famous MMO EVE Online to a brand-new game.
But that’s not all we’ve got planned this week.
Introducing Spaces
Besides Just About Nightingale, we’re launching four new broad-interest communities like Just About Video Games, henceforth called ‘Spaces’. Get ready for Just About Music, Sport, Tech, and Film & TV!
Where communities will be the place to dive into a particular game, Spaces will unite communities across an entire topic, giving all their members more to do and ensuring that no community feels isolated. And as with JAVG, they’ll all feature bounties, so you’ll have plenty to do and discuss! Time to start reheating your ‘best album’ takes.
