Finding ‘your people’ for the first time can be a comforting, empowering, and even liberating feeling. The vast majority of us will have been part of a community of some sort from a young age, but there’s a difference between being technically part of a community and truly having the feeling of participation and togetherness. It comes with a sense of acceptance and reassurance - knowing that you have a place with like-minded folks where you feel free to express yourself.
So whether it was a group of fellow outcasts in your school days or an esoteric online forum about an obscure Mongolian anime, cast your mind back to the days of yore (or at least to the days of your yore), and share how it made you feel. Was it a powerful feeling? If so, why do you think that was the case?
