‘Did you catch [the show] last night?’ was a go-to watercooler or schoolyard conversation topic. We still talk about [the show], of course, but chances are it’s on an on-demand service now, so that sense of sharing a specific moment has weakened.
But it doesn’t have to be that way!
The same on-demand media that’s diluted these shared experiences also gives us the tools to make our own. We can get a group of people together in one time and place and use streaming services, podcast networks, gaming platforms, and so on to create our own collective experiences. A media club, for example.
What do you think? What kind of media would you include? Have you participated in a book or similar club before? Would you be interested in something like this on Just About?
