Scary Monsters And Nice Sprites from Skrillex. Being one of the earlier albums, his unique sound and genre blending have become a core influence to many artists and impacted electronic music as a whole.

I mean these sounds, the drop was amazing back in 2010 even in 2024.

Despite this album performing so so commercially, I think if this album did bomb, Skrillex might be totally different from what we know today. This album also won the Grammy Awards for Best Recording as well as Dance/Electronica Album.

Following a similar pattern to my entry RE artists, Portals by Sub Focus and Wilkinson is right up there for me. I think it's my number 1 D&B album, I tend to find D&B albums too much to listen to from start to finish as they can be rather samey...

Portals however, contains a nice mix of upbeat bass thumping tracks and melodic D&B. The big track of the album is Illuminate which has a catchy, memorable hook but my pick would be Air I Breathe, the melodic vocals and what I think is piano keys gives it an ethereal sound.

My response would be the same as I mentioned in the "Tell us the best artists" bounty - Black Sun Empire.

In my opinion, their best album is Driving Insane, with tracks like "Arrakis" and "Breach" being legendary. The rest of the tracks are great too. "Breach" starts slowly but then, at around the 2-minute mark, it unleashes a surge of energy that makes you want to tap your hand or leg, even if you're sitting in a crowded office.

Twenty years have passed, but the music still sounds fresh and modern.

I'm going for another one of my gym playlist classics from back in the day (ps thank you to this bounty for making me rediscover some of these bangers!), and that pick is Nero's first album from back in the 2010's i think it was released! "Welcome Reality" was the debut album by Nero and it is SOOOOOOO good!

Here is some of the tunes on YouTube for you to enjoy!
