The places where we experience music are... well, nowhere near as important as the music itself, but can still enhance the experience. We're guessing most of you aren't interested in the nuances of efficient crowd distribution or lighting rigs - though we'd love for you to tell us all about them if you are - and so we're going to encourage a bit of... flamboyance in this bounty.
Come up with a design for the ultimate concert venue and don't be afraid to push the boat out. Lasers and smoke machines, obviously, but animatronic dinosaurs? Waterslides? A concert in space? Be as realistic or unrealistic as you want, show us your vision in one or more pictures, and feel free to walk us through it in accompanying text.
AI is allowed for this bounty but, because it's easy, we're adding a second tier of rewards for those who make the effort to create their own artwork and submit it through a connected social account. If you use AI, you must declare it; suspected undeclared AI may be sanctioned in line with our AI policies.
Water Shows: During specific moments of the concert, fountains integrated into the structure shoot water high into the air, with the droplets catching the light from the bioluminescent surroundings and creating rainbow effects.
Sky Lounge: Above the stage, suspended in the air, is a transparent sky lounge where VIP guests can watch the concert from a bird’s eye view, enjoying a panoramic perspective of the venue and the surrounding ocean.
Eco-friendly Design: The entire venue is powered by renewable energy, using a combination of wave energy converters and solar panels. The venue also has a system to filter and purify seawater, ensuring that its environmental impact is minimal.

Here is my idea for a concert venue, inspired by a few different ideas for live events, some of them completely fictional!
I went for a circular stage design inspired by a stadium for Blitzball, a fictional sport from the game Final Fantasy X. It wouldn't be a watery half-sphere but the idea of a stage where there's a clear view from every angle appeals to me and the steep slanting of the seats makes for greater visibility of the stage.
I was also inspired by sumo arenas, which tend to be circular, and so a slightly raised stage without too much height would add to the spectacle but a lower height for the stage could sometimes allow the audience to be even closer to the action, so I was thinking if the stage height could be adjusted, it would make for loads of awesome setups and a wide variety of concerts!
Another thing I took into account was the aerial view of the stadium and it reminds me of an eyeball as well as a vinyl record, which both kind of tie in nicely to the theme of music and spectacle, giving the audience something cool to look at as they come in and even if the stage isn't being used to its full capacity.
Leading on to capacity, I think the venue would hold around 20,000 people, including the performers, backstage staff and security, with another feature that I think would be awesome is having the backstage actually be underneath the stage, which can also make for great stunts and fast changes as well as some fun surprises like when performers appear from below the stage. That said, I would still have a locker room or backstage area on the same level as the stage that leads out to a step-free walkway or ramp that goes right to the stage.
When it comes to names for the venue, I had three in mind:
• The Iris - the theme of spectacle and watching something as well as the stadium looking like an eye, which could be conveyed even further with lights and LED flooring
• The Vinyl - another cool-looking idea would be the stage looking like a vinyl record, as well as having the stage rotate so angles can change and the performers can have their logo on the centre of the stage as well
• The Cirque - coming from the idea of the stage being a half-spherical structure or a half-circle, or "circ", while the French word for "circus" in Latin gives a sophisticated vibe to the arena, as well as suggests it can be a home for any kind of concert
The idea is to make the audience feel like they are under the water, in the deeps of the ocean, small creatures under a megalithic shell. All this at the side of the sea to be able to hear to the winds and waves when are happening the change of bands or some pause in the festival, the sound of ocean will be a persistent in the whole festival, probably the main attraction of it.
Welcome to one of many underground Yakuza clubs in Neo Tokyo. This venue was converted from a temple a hundred years ago. With spaces to shoot pool, sit at the bar, or take part in shady business deals in one of the VIP booths, there's something for everyone here.

I hope the architects will forgive me for this, but here’s my idea for a multi-dimensional concert venue: featuring five hexagonal, 'floating' rings, each equipped with classic 45-degree stadium-style tribunes.
At the center of the venue, there’s a central pillar supporting a floating, spherical stage that can be viewed from all directions. The sphere is encased in a transparent glass shell, which doubles as a laser projector. This allows for the projection of magnified images when the stage is farther away from a particular ring, ensuring that every audience member has a clear view, no matter where they are seated.
The central stage is capable of moving up and down, as well as rotating 360 degrees, allowing the artist to be seen by everyone in the venue. When the stage is oriented in a different direction or level, those not in direct line of sight can still experience the performance through advanced 3D projections. This isn’t just fantasy—I recently saw a tech demonstration at Devcom where they projected 3D images in specific directions, making this concept quite feasible.
Envisioning the ultimate concert venue involves combining state-of-the-art technology with exceptional design to create an immersive experience. The ideal venue will feature state-of-the-art sound and lighting systems, allowing for crystal-clear acoustics and dynamic visual displays. Seating will be designed for optimal views from every angle, ensuring that each seat is the best in the house. The venue will also prioritize sustainability, utilizing renewable energy sources and eco-friendly materials. Additionally, ample space for amenities such as food and beverage outlets, merchandise stores, and relaxation areas will enhance the overall attendee experience. It is not only a pinnacle of entertainment but also a center for cultural exchange and community engagement.
Interesting how most ideas (including mine) are exploring spherical/round shapes, which according to some research are actually not very effective from a viewer's perspective, thus classic stadiums are oval-shaped which gives a broader exposure area to the audience.
On the other hand, many theaters use square, or cube forms, which is a good compromise between viewing angles and acoustics. Anyhow, Rich thanks for the reward and this bounty, I've learned a lot here
My pleasure dude, we loved your submission. The raising/rotating stage was a very cool idea; one hopes we'll live to see such a venue built in our lifetimes.
