SMITE 2's Conquest mode is the flagship mode of the game, the one everyone thinks of when SMITE comes to mind. However, if you're new to MOBAs (massively online battle arenas) or SMITE 2, it can be a little tricky to pick up, especially since the game is still in closed Alpha and the devs haven’t yet got around to building a tutorial.

So we asked our community of veteran SMITE 2 players to break it down for us, video style! Three excellent guides were submitted, each one going into varying levels of depth, so you can pick up the basics or learn all the details according to how much time you’ve got and how prepared you want to be. So without further ado, here's everything you need to know about Conquest in SMITE 2. 

Short and sweet: Cloggedbean

If you're looking for a bite-sized Conquest breakdown, look no further than Cloggedbean's TikTok video. They do a great job at explaining the basics for complete newbies, including how teams work, how to win the game, how to understand the map including the various objectives, roles, and gods suitable for each one. Not to mention the excellent Pokémon music in the background!

Competitive analysis: ChrisTDickson

 ChrisTDickson is a full-time SMITE 2 content creator and has used this knowledge to both analyze the start of a SMITE 2 tournament, then break down the entire Conquest map complete with objectives such as jungle camps, gold fury, and the fire giant, as well as explaining all the roles and where players should go with certain gods during the laning phase. Detailed: Feddboii

 Finally, we have Feddboii coming in with this chunky 38-minute breakdown of Conquest mode. This video starts with the same aspects covered in the previous two videos - lanes, objectives, and the map - before diving into specific situations you may find yourself in and how to deal with them. This is all done with commentary over a game in which Feddboii is playing, which he ends up winning with multiple kills against higher-leveled opponents, so you get to see some high-quality gameplay at the same time. This video is the one to watch if you want to understand everything about this mode right down to specific examples and excellent illustrations thereof.
