This is a showcase of the best SMITE 2 Baron Samedi plays from our community of SMITE veterans, showing off exactly what the god of life and death - two pretty all-encompassing things to be a god of, really - is capable of in the right hands. Baron Samedi excels in the mid lane with his voodoo-based abilities, all of which feature in these impressive clips from real players. If you want to emulate these plays, make sure you read up on our top SMITE 2 tips.
In no particular order, here are seven of the best Baron Samedi plays in SMITE 2:
Feddboii
First up is Feddboii, who joins the fray mid-fight to assist his teammates, taking down Loki and an enemy Baron Samedi before chasing Kukulkan down a few minutes later. Despite their best attempts to flee, they can’t outrun Feddboii's Baron's Brew, which he lands perfectly at Kukulkan's feet, before pulling them in with Samedi’s ultimate, Life of the Party, to set up the finishing blow.
ChrisTDickson
If there's anything I've learned about watching the many brilliant plays ChrisTDickson has submitted to bounties on Just About SMITE 2, it's that he can always find a way to rescue situations where he should have no right to come out on top. This Baron Samedi play is another example of that: he's ganged up on by both Ymir and Fenrir, but somehow manages to escape - chipping away at both of their health bars as he goes - before two allies come in to assist. Of course, Chris then finishes off both foes. Sometimes staying alive long enough for the cavalry to show up is all you need to do.
Apocosausage
There’s something deeply satisfying about watching someone turn the tables on an underdog situation, and that's also what Apocosausage manages to do in this clip. They're under the cosh with all three of Loki, Anhur, and Hecate relentlessly attacking, but they - somehow - take out both Loki and Anhur, survive long enough for Athena to come and back them up, then take down Hecate. Impressive.
Inpunktion
This late-game clip from Inpunktion narrowly missed out on winning one of our play of the week bounties, but we’re delighted to feature it here, as it’s a fantastic, game-winning penta-kill. Inkpunktion takes down Sol early on, followed by Anubis, Athena, Loki, and the opposing Baron Samedi, all while his teammates focus on the Chaos Titan. Ever the perfectionist, he does describe his relic usage as "sloppy". That’s the kind of mindset that produces a game-winning penta, we suppose.
Cloggedbean
This Baron Samedi clip from Cloggedbean is much shorter than the others featured here, but no less impressive for that: it’s a quick ultimate used in harmony with his team to pull in multiple enemy gods, most of whom his teammates finish off, followed by a final blow to Anhur as the ult comes to an end. A short, but very sweet and perfectly synchronised team play.
Empen
Empen's clip is the epitome of cheeky: they dive on the enemy team as they’re fighting the Fire Giant, successfully steal the kill on the Fire Giant, stay alive for long enough to get two kills of their own on Mordred (read our SMITE 2 Mordred builds guide if you want to fare better) and Amaterasu. And as if that weren’t enough (it is), 30 seconds later, their team takes down the Order Titan and they win the game.
CashMoneyMorty
Finally, we have a clip from CashMoneyMorty which is pure chaos from start to finish. This late-game scenario is a team fight which showcases Baron Samedi's ability to support his teammates and chip away at enemies. He finishes the clip with a kill on Ares from afar (our top SMITE 2 Ares builds would've surely helped that enemy stay alive), using his abilities cleverly to stay alive and assist with kills right up to the big finish. Enjoy.
Think you could do better? Every week we run a play of the week bounty which Baron Samedi plays are eligible for, so capture your footage, upload it to a video hosting platform, and submit it to the latest bounty to be in the running for a reward. Be sure to let us know which of these plays you were most impressed with in the comments below! We also have a guide on understanding strength and intelligence in SMITE 2, which is a revamped damage system compared to the first game.
