I’ve simply just drawn my route on my maps app. I did it so it would look like a flower that’s bloomed so the centre of Manchester would always be the central zone. The last of the bike ride would be for a full circle around central Manchester.

I suspected someone would choose the UK fairly quickly! It feels like such an ideal route covering almost the entire country, it surprises me we don't have something like this already.

The problem is the vast majority of the country hates cyclists. I went to Belgium in April and there are bikes everywhere. Its a way of life in continental Europe.

We do! The Tour of Britain is real, it's just... a bit rubbish. The one chosen by antibird would be way better!

I think the New Cycling Grand Tour can be held in Indonesia on the islands of Bali, Lombok, and West Nusa Tenggara for 18 days here is the route

Bali Island:

Day 1: Gilimanuk to Lovina Beach

Day 2: Lovina Beach to Kintamani

Day 3: Kintamani to Ubud

Day 4: Ubud to Denpasar

Day 5: Denpasar to Padangbai

Day 6: Padangbai to Lembar Harbor

Rest on the ferry to the island of Lombok

Lombok Island:

Day 7 : Lembar Harbor to Mataram City

Day 8 : Mataram City to Senggigi

Day 9 : Senggigi to Kuta Lombok Beach

Day 10 : Kuta Lombok Beach to Kayangan Harbor

Day 11 : Kayangan Harbor to Poto Tano

Rest on ferry to West Nusa Tenggara island

West Nusa Tenggara Island:

Day 12 : Poto Tano to Alas

Day 13 : Alas to Sumbawa Besar

Day 14 : Sumbawa Besar to Plampang

Day 15 : Plampang to Dompu

Day 16 : Dompu to Bima

Day 17 : Bima to Sape Harbor

Day 18 : Sape Harbor to Komodo Island

Why did I choose that route because on the 3 islands there are many tourist attractions and natural scenery that are very amazing such as:

- Bali: From the vast green rice fields in Ubud, the panoramic mountain and lake views in Kintamani, to the tranquil north coast in Lovina.

- Lombok: Stunning beaches such as Senggigi and Kuta, as well as views of the majestic Rinjani mountain and waterfalls around Senaru.

- Sumbawa: Challenging mountains and hills, and exotic beaches along the way to Sumbawa Besar and Bima.

My submission is England, Salisbury, this is a route that I have walked myself over the course of the day, it spans roads, tracks, etc, but it also, comes with incredible views on this route, Why Salisbury? Because this is the city where I live.

So the route takes several key points but the great thing about this is, that it took us around 9 hours to walk it. You can see the cathedral the entire time, the route is up and down, boasting amazing views of farmland, and valleys, you also go past old Sarum which has the castle ruins and old fortifications etc.

UAE Grand Tour: Golden Triangle

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) offers a unique environment for a Grand Tour, combining extreme weather conditions, diverse terrains, and substantial financial backing. The hot desert climate and sand dunes provide a contrast to traditional European tours, ensuring an unforgettable experience for both riders and spectators. Additionally, hosting the tour during the winter season capitalizes on a quieter period in the cycling calendar, attracting global attention.

Highlights

  • Riders will pass iconic UAE landmarks like the Burj Khalifa, Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, and the Hajar Mountains.

  • The route includes flat urban stages, coastal roads, hill climbs, and desert crossings, ensuring a varied and challenging race.

  • The hot climate will test riders’ endurance and strategy, making for an exciting competition.

  • The tour can boost local tourism and showcase the UAE's stunning landscapes to the world.

Route

  • Stage 1: Dubai to Abu Dhabi

    • Distance: 150 km

    • Terrain: Flat, urban landscapes

  • Stage 2: Abu Dhabi to Al Ain

    • Distance: 150 km

    • Terrain: Urban and desert

  • Stage 3: Al Ain to Dubai

    • Distance: 150 km

    • Terrain: Mixed, final sprint finish

  • Finish: Dubai, iconic Palm Jumeirah Island

Grand Prize

To elevate the stakes and allure of the UAE Grand Tour or Golden Triangle Tour, the grand prize could be a stunning $3 million-worth supercar, aligning with the UAE’s reputation for luxury and opulence.

My tour would go through the beautiful landscapes of Norway

Stage 1 Bergen to Ostereidet 51 KM

Stage 2 Ostereidet to Hosteland 41.1 km

Stage 3 Hosteland to Lavik 82.2 KM

stage 4 Lavik to Sygna 65KM

Stage 5 Sygna to Årdal 59km

This will give stunning views of the mountain and fjords while providing a challenge in uphill sections
