Tonight from 11pm-2am PST in Oregon (where I am) I have a chance to catch a glimpse of the Aurora Borealis! I've got my Nikon D5600 all charged up to try and snap some pics. If I get any, I'll post them here.
Did anyone else get any pics and if so, would you like to post them/say what you used to take them?
(I know this is VERY tangentially related to Tech, but there isn't a better place to put it and I really want to see pics lol)

Later it was yellowish, pink, and blue - a rainbow aurora borealis!

I’m loving it. My eyes can’t see it terribly well but long exposure (just a couple seconds) makes it super evident. Luckily I live basically where Far Cry 5 took place so no light pollution.
Got out the tripod for some long exposure. So purty
Fuck those are soo beautiful. I live by a reservoir with little light coverage so I may have to take the car and camera out there tonight in a desperate bid to see this

Unfortunately I had a lot of light pollution where I live but fortunately I live high up so i avoided some of it, I could just about vaguely see it with my eyes and snapepd it on camera! Its super interesting that it comes across very different on camera compared to your naked eye. I believe taking a video of it is easier to capture as well

My friend took this one a few hours north of me last night. Even with city light pollution it looks incredible.
Nah, too much light pollution were we live, didn't even get to see it. Annoying thing is the previous house, we would have had a perfect view of it :(
