I chose to base a card on one of my new favorite exhibits, the Stone Trolls. As soon as I collected all the pieces and noticed they were playing "Rock, Paper, Scissors", I was geeking out.

I only learnt about this bounty 3 days ago, so I haven't had much time to design the card or come up with a fully fledged game. But, I do know it would be similar to The Witcher's "Gwent", mixed with the classic silliness of Two Point. For the card design itself I used a mix between the style of "Flesh and Blood" and "Magic".

Gamewise, similar to Gwent there would be character or item cards with several types, and a mix of them at play at once.

Curators - they can find item cards in your deck to use for play;
Janitors - have some healing factors or can repair broken item cards (use an item card once, it breaks);
Guards - the opponents card gets peppered, loses hp;
Assistant - helps the player, boosts hp for 1 card;
Analyst - can analyze the opponents hand;
Bandage box - regain hp;
Curators Tools - reveal a hidden card;

And so on.

Cards based on exhibits such as the pictured Stone Trolls, would have goofy executions. As another example-

Fates O' Twenty - Roll a D20 dice, the resulting number is the damage counters put on your opponent. If you roll a 20, double it. If you roll 5 or lower, add 20 damage counters to one of your own cards.

The Trolls would be a goofy break during play, and an easy way to win or lose a round. High risk, high reward, right? Would you play the card?

Ford James Is it up to someone's interpretation that you can win the $15? If so, why didn't you win them? It's just a question; I'm not complaining.

Rich's avatar

Hi GABOSER! You had already won a reward with this particular piece of (excellent) artwork, which you have reused for this reward. We appreciate that you've included new content to turn it into a card, but given the criteria for the $15 prize tier as outlined in the description, didn't feel it was justified.

The card’s in Ch inese right now, but if you guys want it in English, I can translate it! Might take a bit though – super busy these days

Rich's avatar

Hi Yueyibai, these look awesome! As with your equally cool-looking maps on our open reward though, we will need to ask for a translation into English, and for you to submit again via the purple 'submit' button so that your entry goes into our awards pipeline and we can get you paid 🙂

I actually share most of my work on Xiaohongshu(Red Note). It's a pity that Two Point Studios doesn't have a Chinese community there. Really hope you'll join the Chinese community to interact with us—Xiaohongshu has automatic translation between Chinese and English, so maybe communication won't be a problem at all!http://xhslink.com/m/1n7zL4F85G2

A classic Magic the Gathering card, with a slight Two Point Fantasy Finds twist.

Game Rules: Players draw cards from the "event pool" which contains both negative and positive cards. If they draw a burglar card and their security level is too small they get a penalty. If they have the proper security level they are rewarded. The burglars have different ranks and require different security levels to be dealt with. Players can increase their security level by purchasing utility cards or security agents cards, but can't do so before they deal with the event card they have drew in that turn.

Rich Since I received a 5$ prize for my submission, does that mean it was not considered "effortful enough" for this reward? I'm starting to get confused on what "effortful enough" means on this website. This was all done manually from scratch. Not sure what more "effort" we are expected to put in for these.

Rich's avatar

BeetsByDre911 It would've qualified, the only reason I couldn't award the $15 tier is that we ran out of prizes in it! If multiple submissions qualify for a prize we default to first-come, first-served unless it's explicitly a competition. Sorry about that.

B

I am looking at the list of submissions sorted by Oldest to Newest and I am not seeing 5 submissions before mine that use original artwork. Unless, do all these count as original artwork and effortful enough? I believe when I submitted, there were only 6 other rewards before mine, and a few of them already got 5$, so I was expecting 100% to get a 15$ reward.

B

Actually, I just looked at the submissions list sorted by Oldest to Newest, and there were only 2 submissions before mine that were qualified for the 15$ reward. You guys gave 15$ to other submissions that came way after mine. If we're going to have Rules for these rewards, shouldn't we at least respect them?

THE CARD GAME

Objective of the game:
You are the museum curator and your goal is to be the first to reach 30 BUZZ points, attracting visitors, setting up exhibits, choosing the right staff, participating in events, and avoiding the underhanded moves of opponents and fate! Because every museum has its problems and you, as the curator, will have to solve them all.

What is needed?

A personalized deck of 30 cards per player consisting of

8 EXHIBIT cards,

8 STAFF cards,

5 ACTION cards,

 5 EVENT cards,

4 MUSEUM  cards,

a score sheet to keep track of money, Buzz, and turns.

The Cards:
Exhibition Cards: Artifacts that you display in your museum generate Buzz points each turn if placed on the game board. Some cards can increase their value by raising the Buzz points each turn, but be careful, some artifacts can spoil quickly, especially if you don't have the proper staff to take care of them. To place them on the board, you need to have a necessary number of Buzz points, which will not be subtracted from the player.

Staff Cards: Support characters. They can collaborate with the curator or sabotage the opponent. Essential for managing the museum's artifacts. To place them on the game board, money is needed.

Museum Cards: They can provide bonuses, increase earnings, or impact the success of your exhibitions. To play them, money is required.

Event Cards: Events that happen to you or are given to your opponent, often harmful, but with the right cards on the table they can prove to be valuable. When the event is resolved, the card is removed. To play them on the game bord, money is needed.

Action Cards: Interventions in the game, quick lasting only 1 turn and with immediate effects, often tactical. To play them on the game board, money and knowledge are needed.

Scores:

Money: money is needed to put cards into play
Knowledge: necessary to be able to play certain cards
Satisfaction: necessary to avoid events and disasters, those who have enough points (described on the Event or Action card)
Buzz: It defines the upkeep of your museum, the first to reach 30 points wins.

How to play?
Each player has their own deck of 30 shuffled and facedown cards. You start by drawing 5 cards each, which is the starting deck to begin playing. Each player has an initial score of
Money: 5
Knowledge: 1
Satisfaction: 1
The first player draws a card from the deck and decides whether to play a card on the table or pass. Each turn, players who play a card or pass gain
Money: 3
Knowledge: 1
Satisfaction: 1
In a turn, players can place on the table as many cards as they want, but no more than 5 cards of each type. Cards can be removed from the table only by completely discarding them and losing a turn.
All players must always keep one card in hand.
The winner is the first to reach 30 Buzz points; if the deck runs out and no more moves are possible, the player with the most Buzz points wins.

If there were ever a Two Point Museum collectible card game, this card would be very useful, as the enemy would have to find a card that directly destroyed the artifact.

And until they got it, they would lose a lot of health.

I just found out about this reward in the early hours of the morning. I wish I had prepared something sooner, but time wasn’t on my side this time, and I couldn’t polish the drawing much more.

I wanted to create something from scratch, using an item that can be found in the game, especially in the new DLC and give it a Dungeons & Dragons style, with rewards and penalties to match its 20 sided nature.

I also went for a simpler card design and drew everything freehand with a mouse. At first, I used shapes to be more precise, but later I felt that giving it a slightly shaky, hand-drawn look would make it more fitting.
