other than my pick I previously used for the best game ever which in my mind is Metal Gear Solid which I would love to see given the full remaster treatment I’d also love to see a proper remaster for Super Mario 64.

The game was groundbreaking when it launched and pretty much sold 1 for 1 with the N64 console as it was the must have title and a real system shifter!

Now the game is still a classic to this day and great fun, but it has aged! With the rumoured Switch 2 on the horizon this would be a perfect time to drop a remastered Super Mario 64.

Why? Well the development time should be less as they already have the story / Skelton of a game to work from versus making a completely new game from scratch.

The nostalgia this would bring back would certainly bring lapsed N64 gamers back into the fold to relive their youth alongside current day gamers who would eat this up and send it right up the best sellers charts!

With tightening up the controls and building Mario 64 Renastere in unreal engine 4 or 5 it would look UNREAL (no pun intended!) and would probably look how people Remeber it from back in the day!

They joy this game could give to a new generation of gamers alongside the old guard, heck I can even imagine parents taking great joy in getting this game for their kids to show them what they played when they were younger… it would just be magic.

And nobody does gaming magic better than Nintendo.

Fingers crossed this happens 🤞

There are so many games that deserve remakes/remasters and one game that I remember VERY fondly from my childhood is Scooby-Doo and the Night of 100 Frights. One of the first games I owned and I think it could really use a Spongebob Battle for Bikini Bottom Rehydrated or Spyro Reignited kind of treatment- a shiny, fresh coat of paint in the form of a faithful remake... Scooby-Doo and the Night of 100 Frights... Rerun, maybe? To fit in with the weekend cartoon theme.

The original game has solid platforming and collectathon elements that made it a fun and easy game to unwind to. The writing, soundtrack and overall atmosphere of the level designs made it feel like you were just playing through an episode of the series. Scooby controlled really well and the levels had a lot of interesting set-pieces to platform over and collect Scooby Snacks while fighting iconic monsters from the show and rescuing the rest of the gang. Seeing all of these environments with more colourful and vibrant graphics while still sticking to the classic Scooby-Doo aesthetic would be amazing to see and utilizing the possibility of a better free-cam to show off these stunning new visuals would make the game feel more cinematic as well as fix the main issue that many had with the original game. The camera was very difficult to work with and it often made some of the more difficult jumps feel impossible to complete with it being too zoomed out or just not at the optimal angle. But aside from that one minor gripe, Night of 100 Frights really captured what a Scooby-Doo game should feel like and it honestly deserves some modern day love so my fellow platformer enthusiasts can relive our childhood with a modern upgrade to it.

STAR WARS JEDI KNIGHT: JEDI ACADEMY

This was undoubtedly one of my favourite games growing up for a few reasons. It was one of the first glimpses we got into Luke's new generation of Jedis and was cool to see what he was doing following the events of Return of the Jedi.

It was also one of the first games besides KOTOR that let you choose whether to be dark or light side aligned and learning abilities of those tendencies. It was also one of the first Star Wars games that let you customise your character, you could be male or female, choose which species you were and eventually also choose lightsaber styles as well which was very exciting and unique for it's time.

The story was banging, the missions were all unique and fun (except the terrifying mission on Tatooine avoiding the Sand Worms by not stepping on the sand!!) and you got to visit many different planets through these missions.

Would love to see this and it's sequel remade with extra missions and content plus adding in all the new lightsaber styles that have been invented since.

For me, definitely by far, I want to see an Elder Scrolls 5 remake!

This game, simply has the most potential to become another best seller if Bethesda had just put some more effort into it! At this point in time, the game is currently the best for modding, and unofficial patches are the only thing that's keeping the game going. The storyline and DLCs are the richest, best stories I've played yet, whilst the missions and side quests ensure that I have hours of gameplay, without a dull moment EVER! With more content and features, as well as an even more streamlined mod marketplace, replayability will be infinite and allow the player to keep it up, forever. Heck, it might make a good game to play when caught up on a desert island for a year (Old bounty, anyone?)

But just imagine how much more beautifully polished this game can be with a few more tweaks! Can't imagine? Just look at this!

After being out for over 13 years and still going strong, this game is definitely a gem in any gamer's collection. But I'm sure everyone has been waiting for ES:6 to come out for yonks now, and ES5: Remastered will be the touch the franchise needs ever so badly.

Need for Speed Underground 1 and 2 are the obvious candidates for me, though if I had to choose just one, I'd go for the latter, as it's all-round a better game and the open world aspect of it just present itself as better remaster material.

What hurts the most is despite that critically acclaimed those games were, and how they are still considered among the best in the franchise (and according to me NFUS 2 is the best racing game ever made of any franchise), there is no way to play them anymore. There is no digital version anywhere for sale, so your only hope is to track down old PC or console copies on eBay or just put on your eyepatch and download it straight from some sketchy website. It's inexcusable that such a good game with such a passionate fanbase behind it, still discovering new things in the code to this day, has not be rereleased in any way, shape, or form. Those recent videos of Underground 2 being remade in Unreal Engine were enough to make me cry, seeing how stunning the game looks in those. But a fan-made port, while admirable, can't really be compared to a full-on remake or remaster from EA. Especially given the state the franchise is in nowadays, bringing both games back, or even just 2, sounds like the easiest money-making scheme ever, and I really can't comprehend why it hasn't been done yet.

Gameplay-wise, the game held up so extremely well, though of course the graphics could always be better. While there is certainly a charm to the way it looks, it could also just be nostalgia talking.

I think it would also have a pretty big impact on the franchise and genre as a whole. Given how I still think this 19 year old game is the peak of racing, I think bringing it back would be a great opportunity for studios to study it and see why it's as good as it is and what elements they could use in newer games. Preservation of good old games is extremely important so we can actually remember what works and what doesn't.
