For me it was the Dreamcast. I made a deal with my mom back in 7th grade that if I got 'Excellent' in all my subjects at school then she'd buy me one. Alas the pull of Sega's last console wasn't enough for me to get better than 'satisfactory' in French.
Thankfully I was still able to play those long-lost Sega games on more modern systems so I was able to reclaim back that childhood that never was around 10 years later.
