My favourite of the one I have unlocked so far is Tom & Jerry

The ability to have combination attacks and be able to attack your opponent from both sides proved useful with also having plenty of close up attacks with the mallet and racket and long range attacks with the fishing rod, tennis balls, rockets and using a slingshot to fire Jerry. Putting down a quick mouse trap can be useful to try stop that advancing enemy too.

It has to be shaggy, i loved scooby doo growing up and i feel like being an adult and beating arya stark up with shaggy is such a crossover from my childhood and adulthood put together as im a big game of thrones fan, its fun as shaggy is super scared in the show so pretty decent hitting people with his fast kicks

I was expecting this game on Nintendo!

Anyways, controls seems very odd on keyboard and mouse, but after few training matches i started to feel character better.

I agree, giving limited access to several characters can lead to situation, where your trained character is locked behind a payment wall.

We will see how far i can go as f2p!

p.s. Shaggy is the best!

I choose BATMAN, because I like Batman when I was kids. My friend say it's a bored character but I always like him whatever combo skill, tips and tricks to play this character, i will play it with my way

My Hot Take Shaggy & Wonder Woman

MultiVersus has been making waves in the platform fighter genre, and one of the characters that has gotten a lot of attention is Shaggy. This simple-looking character from the Scooby-Doo series has been turned into a powerhouse in the game, inspired by the "Ultra Instinct Shaggy" meme. In MultiVersus, when Shaggy attacks at full power, not only does he become a force to be reckoned with, but his partner also receives a jump in power for his next attack1. This unique synergy between characters is what sets MultiVersus apart, making it a game where teamwork and strategy are as important as individual skill.

Another character that stands out is Wonder Woman. She is designed as a support fighter who can jump to the aid of her comrades and provide defensive assistance with one of her special attacks2. This team-centered gameplay encourages players to work together and think about the bigger picture during matches.

The game's emphasis on 2v2 combat and character roles such as Bruiser, Mage, Assassin, Tank, or Support add depth to the gameplay and require players to think strategically about their team composition and how they approach each match.

So, if you're looking for characters that can really shake things up and bring something new to the table, Shaggy and Wonder Woman are worth checking out. Their ability to empower teammates and control the battlefield can turn the tide of every match, making them my top pick in the current MultiVersus lineup.

My Hot take on Shaggy:

His forward air and his neutral air are excellent to open people up. His sandwich is also great for this. Make sure you chase when you get the hit! Hope in the lab and practice hitting these two moves and chasing after you hit them, sometimes you can combo depending on the percent. His down air is huge, sometimes I go for this after a forward air and can get some free kills if my opponent is slow or has a pattern (90% of people jump immediately when thrown off stage) Use kick sparingly especially in 1v1. It’s very punishable. In 2s it’s nice for saving your opponent from getting hit. If you haven’t done the advanced tutorial for dodge attack and dodge jump do that. They will speed up your game a lot , the kick has really great priority once it’s going but it starts up really slowly and once it ends there is a fairly long time after the kick where there is no hitbox and shaggy can’t act. The whole kick is really slow and if you expect the shaggy to kick because they like to use it a lot and you jump it it’s pretty easy to punish it.

Easily one of the best characters on Multi Versus because he is such a simple easy to use character.

Ok so.... I loaded it up had to create and account, and these are the age options. At this point I'm starting to think this game isn't for me seen as the options are, choose an age 10 -22 with a button for each and then just "over 22" for the rest of the range...

I played the tutorial, was expecting a Smash Bros style fighting game but for some reason it was a tutorial for a platformer game rather than a beat em up, plus there was lots of text about some silly story I had to keep clicking through. Once this was completed it sat me in a matchmaking screen for 2 minutes loading the next tutorial, then I got a disconnected message and I couldn't reconnect.

A few hours later I came back to it, it worked but I was basically back doing the first tutorial again. I couldn't be bothered at this point so closed it down and uninstalled....

So yeah that was my hot take... Tried to give it a go, age selection screen puts me right off and then it annoyed me from the off, so that was that...

Hot Take on MultiVersus: A Promising Yet Flawed Smash Bros. Competitor

MultiVersus is clearly taking inspiration from the beloved Smash Bros. franchise. Warner Bros.' diverse IP collection makes character selection exciting, with the likes of Agent Smith from The Matrix fighting alongside Scooby-Doo. However, the excitement wanes quickly when you realize only one character is playable from the start, with others locked behind a paywall. This approach is disappointing and feels too restrictive.

One aspect that left me agreeing with other reviewers is the confusing tutorial. It starts off feeling like a Metroid game, but the actual gameplay is focused on combat fighting. This disconnect can be jarring. The storyline dialogues are monotonous and overly lengthy, you click-click-click them. The absence of voice-overs is a glaring omission for a game from a AAA company.

The variety of play modes is a redeeming feature, adding depth to the game. However, the UI is complicated, and after a brief tutorial, you're thrust into a lobby full of flashy, time-limited events designed to disorient you and push for an initial purchase - much like many mobile games. Speaking of which, it's a missed opportunity that MultiVersus isn't available on mobile or Nintendo platforms, given its simplistic graphics that could easily be handled by those devices.

Overall, MultiVersus has potential, but its execution feels rough around the edges. We'll see how it evolves, but for now, it's a mixed bag. Probably they will have a large stand at the Gamescom, so I marked it in my list.
