When you're new to a pursuit, it's hard to avoid making assumptions. Trouble is, being new makes it all too easy to make the wrong ones. Keep working at it and you'll unlearn them over time... but it sure would be easy if we had a community of experienced creators to just tell you a few common mistakes, rookie errors, or other things they've learned not to do, wouldn't it?
That's what this bounty is for. Give us one, two, or several things you've learned not to do as a content creator in your field, whatever field that may be. If they can be errors that are especially common among those starting out, so much the better!
