Damn it.

If you Corp or Alliance touches the dark venom of TiDi. Here my Words! You shall not pass!

Goes without saying... best (the only real) NPSI alliance - The Ancients, ... and NPSI corp, FUN inc!

TA - is an NPSI alliance where PVP and specifically NPSI content / PVP is our jam. We love NPSI, we love pew pew - so if you are the time poor content driven capsuleer, TA might just be for you!. Outside from TQ NPSI PVP, we are also keen on tournaments - ok so we are not great, but we have fun in the process trying to get good!

FUN inc is a small gang PVP and NPSI corp - we were founded after the dissolution of Agony Unleashed, and eventually morphed into a friendly NPSI corporation based out of Jita but heavily focussed on NPSI PVP and small gang content. We have an active discord, and are the bees knees!

Totally had to get in here for some self-promo xD

Are you antisocial but want to be a part of a corporation for the low taxes? The Pirate Playhouse is the corp for you! Apply, do your own thing, and enjoy that sweet 1% tax rate! We also run NPSI fleets every Friday night alongside Asuralite!

Ah "best" with player groups is such a subjective thing. If the group and culture click with you or not totally depends on the individual. And culture also changes over time. Just like activities do.

In the last bounty of this kind, I recommended Noir. Since then they moved from Gallente faction warfare to join Guristas, and now also moved into a wormhole.

I fear a guide like that is prone to be outdated at release.

Alex Sinclair's avatar

Thanks Greybill, I have similar concerns. Do you think a focus on alliances would be more useful and time-resistant?

greybill's avatar

Hm, to an extent. Since alliances usually have more management that keeps things working for longer. But that can be true for corporations just as well. Many alliances are often a single corp with a holding corp for structure management and stuff. Just paperwork at that point.

If I had to advise someone looking for a group I'd say:

  1. Be sure about what activities they want to do

  2. Double-check the timezone - there are tools like https://www.driftingloot.com/corps/ that can give information about that. Although that is just killboard information, if it's a PvE-focused corp in highsec, this tool won't help that much.

  3. Read through official forums and r/evejobs and simply contact interesting groups

  4. Talk to people via voice comms and see if "the vibe" is right

  5. And don't be afraid to move on if it doesn't work out. Live is too short to not have fun in a video game.

Thanks very much for the very helpful answer. In whatever form it ends up taking, that's useful info that we'll be sure to include. I'm also adding a 'best corps for particular time zones' to this bounty's options

Just to echo this point, or to an extent, expand on it, i think your traditional larger Alliance is great for people who want structured gameplay or content provided by others, that require very little engagement in order to take part - ie. stratops, standing fleets, defence fleets, cta's and so on.

Mid-size Alliances require a degree of self-sufficiency in down periods - ie. outside planned fleets etc you may find yourself with not a huge amount to do.

Small Alliances often lack / struggle with direction and activity is defined by the ebb and flow of their own player base.

Personally, my preference is the small to mid size groups - i believe that they are more personal, you get to know people and forge stronger bonds than that of the larger alliances (again personal stand point) as you are more important to the group than just being a +1 on grid.

Thanks Keacte! This is very useful too and will definitely make it into the guide!

Hi Toretto 70

You'll notice that we've rejected your submission to this bounty. A few of your bounty submissions - such as this one - indicate to us that you're entering bounties on topics that you don't have personal experience with. Just About is all about rewarding authentic fans, so these bounty entries don't match our ethos, nor do they offer real value to the community.

We kindly ask you to reconsider your approach to bounty entries and only enter bounties that are of genuine interest to you. Doing so with higher quality, personal entries will greatly increase your chance of being rewarded.

The best alliance for miners is by far Safety. Net [SIMPS]. Why worry about gankers when you can be a legal miner who is blue to Safety.? You can mine in the Safety. Zone in peace and receive free barges when there is an op to mine OUR moons. You can learn how to deal with other miners while earning Street Cred™. Not only is there a 0% tax rate, but SRP is available. Once you make your riches you have to have the opportunity to buy Aiko Points and show up on the leaderboards at https://www.james315.space/.

For role-play and general activities, my pick is the Sixth Empire.

Here's what they say about themselves:

We offer a relaxed friendly environment, help for new players such as skillbooks and training. So whether you like PvP, Pve, industry or wormhole space, we have a place for you, We have Discord, forums and all the usual things you would expect in an alliance run by experienced players.

We are the Coast Guard of New Eden, and as such we help lost players, and offer REAL memorial services to passed players at the EVE Online Monument in Iceland. Your life matters!

The Sixth Empire is an alliance that does all the fun things other alliances do, except we make regular headlines in a way no one else does!

I'm not part of their alliance, but I have met their leader, Max Singularity, also known as the Space Pope. He is an interesting person who does great things, so if you're looking for a safe and engaging community, I'm confident in recommending this alliance.

Limal's avatar

I recommend the Novus Ordo alliance for those who enjoy PvP, roleplay, or both! I believe every EVE player should have at least one character there. On days when you're feeling upset or tired, you can log in, greet the members, and share some joy with other players in New Eden.

Many people think they are the bad guys, but this isn't quite true. They help maintain a healthy economy, push players out of their comfort zones where they may not be progressing, and showcase the true meaning of a sandbox game.

The best corporation for new players who are not currently interested in PvP is

Strategic Exploration And Development Corporation (Silent Company)

Why?

Corporation Description Below.

We are an entry-level corporation for the LinkNet community. By joining this corporation you will gain access to all of the benefits and content hosted by the other LinkNet partner corporations.

Our mission is to connect you with the perfect corporation that matches your personal needs and goals. This corporation allows you to explore your options within EVE and our community without any pressure and at your own pace.

With no mandatory operations or any types of restrictions, you will be able to find the type of gameplay that interests you the most.

Experience examples of different types of content, gameplay and way of life while in our entry-level corporations by taking part in the joint operations hosted by our community partners. Once you have figured out what you want to do in New Eden we will guide you towards the corporations that are focusing more specifically on the content type you would like to participate in.

Anyone with a friendly and mature attitude is welcome to join our community! Hop into the community and start a new chapter in your journey:

Now to my personal experience with this corporation and previous members of it.

They have a highly active voice comms and sharing ability, they have several Moon Mining stations set up which are protected and this way newer players can actually earn a fair amount of ISK, players in this corporation activity help each other in PvE, can't do a mission? Ask, and people will come help.

The command team also does PvP operations if people want to from low sec to null sec.

I highly recommend this corporation for new players to get them out of the NPC corporation, with a 0.0% tax rate. All your earnings, go to you.

Yeah, I like SiCo. I've never flown with them, but regularly come up against them in J-space and they're always up for a good time

Pandemic Horde: null sec corporation that specialises in bringing new players into the fight. High ability to communicate and hold a large amount of null sec. This enables new players to explore secure null sec including data and relic sites with high rewards and as stated new players can take part in null sec pvp as they do new player friendly fleets.
