We previously ran a bounty asking you to dig into the proverbial treasure chest and tell us about the rarest items you own in-game. Now we want you to dig back in and do the same for items that aren't necessarily rare or valuable, but still hold emotional value for you.
To be eligible for a prize, we want you to tell us what the item is, describe how you acquired it, and explain why it holds sentimental value for you. We'd love it if you shared a screenshot of the item too, but it's not a requirement for a bounty prize.
We're looking for 100 words or more for this bounty. Thanks to Swagger Olacar for suggesting the idea!

I wear a medal which reminds me of scars and thousands of lives lost (and even more survivors).
On March 22, 2013, the great Battle of Caldari Prime exploded into New Eden history. The battle was the culminating moment of four years of occupation of Luminaire VII by the Caldari fleet consisting of the Shiigeru Leviathan and its escorts. The Leviathan had been positioned over the planet as the result of an invasion of Gallente space and Luminaire by Caldari Executor Tibus Heth. For years, the Leviathan fended off attacks by prospective capsuleers, but at the beginning of the year, tensions between the Gallente and Caldari reached the boiling point.
With DUST 514 deployed and clone soldiers fighting across the stars, an uprising on Luminaire VII led to escalating violence, which necessitated the deployment of the Caldari 37th Octopus Squaron capital support group to protect the Leviathan, which was deploying reinforcements to Luminaire VII. After several hours of standoff, the Gallente fleet then scrambled its own capital fleet and warped to the grid. The engagement began in earnest following the destruction of a DED officer’s ship, and the system-wide suspect-flagging of every single capsuleer pilot.
Capsuleer fleets engaged both sides for a solid hour, which resulted in the destruction of the Shiigeru Leviathan and the entire Caldari 37th Octopus Squadron over the planet. The crash of the Leviathan left molten scars which were visible from orbit for more than 11 years.
In the aftermath of the battle, the powers that be sought to issue an item to capsuleers who participated in the battle: a medal. While the gesture was nice, it was I who pitched the argument to CCP Falcon and others that such an item that could be bought or sold or even stolen could be a platform used to promote “stolen valor” and would be insulting to those who fought in that battle.
The plan was set to award actual medals to capsuleers who fought there.
I am proud to say that our efforts bore fruit, and the Battle of Caldari Prime remains as a permanent historical moment in the history of this great New Eden.
To help preserve said history, I hosted several gatherings on the anniversary of the battle (which included “Missing Man Formations”) and spent over a year writing a massive EVE-Wiki article on the incident, which has migrated between Wikipedia pages. Luckily enough, I have it preserved as a hard copy, and will be restoring it in due time.

I may be one of the last veterans who remember the Battle of Caldari Prime, but the medal is a constant reminder of the incident and its rich history.
My treasure is Heron. A regular frigate for scanning without expensive modules. At that time, there was an event in honor of the collaboration with the Doctor Who series and there were keys that opened the abyss for scanning. For several days in a row, I flew in them, saved up resources and periodically sold them. At some point, after several visits, I decided to sell the accumulated loot without placing sell orders. And suddenly I noticed that instead of 40 million, as the inventory calculated, the sum of all items on sale was more than 6 billion! It turned out to be some kind of jacket, the price of which was not even displayed in the hold. This is the first time when my balance was more than 1 billion and since then this ship has been stored in my hangar
I have a Plastic Wrap in my item hangar titled: "A Piece of Nemo II"
The Nemo II was my Worm-class frigate that I had taken into a Traffic Stop homefront site with my brother when I DC'd from the game. My frigate had the stronger tank and was meatshield, however my shield booster was off when I disconnected. Thus my ship died. My brother managed to stay in the site long enough for me to log back in and recover the wreck. I managed to recover most of the modules and I salvaged the wreck which resulted in a single metal scrap. These twisted pieces of metal I had were then plastic wrapped via a courier contract with an alt that I then failed, and labeled to remember the unfortunate demise of the ship.
The only thing which scared me was moving +20b back into Jita. Not the fact to be ganked, but just to travel the 5 Jumps again after jumping back ot my emgerncy cyno. Moving into Nullsec was never an issue and actually the easist trips, aswell internal nullsec movments. Unfortunately there is no information, for me, how old this ship actually is right now.
The last big movement was through an closeby XL Jita Wormhole directly into a Neighbour System of Brave Staging E3O. Ofc got moved like a stuffed christmas meal xD
Jumpfreighter are the combination of a Freighter and a Titan. Be able to move by itself to Cynos carring a huge load of assests.
My favorite ingame item would be my Gold Medal from ATXIII when PL finished first (NO ASTERIX)
We practiced for so many hours and our execution was top notch. To be honest, should have one for XIV as well, however there were serious technical issues with EVE in the grand finals that year that cost us our third match win and the series win and led to a failure to close out the series that year.
In Thera, there is an Osprey Navy Issue docked up that is special to me. It was acquired via contract and delivered via the corporation's hauling service. It still has the hull and module damage from its last engagement, only a half-filled drone bay, and an assortment of random loot in its cargo.
It's named 'Bane of4MY-AB', and was the last ship I flew as a mercenary for Noir., deployed into the name-giving constellation. It's a dead-end of a couple of systems in Immensea. A great place to PvE undisturbed - unless someone puts a bounty on you and sends a bunch of mercs after you. It was the ship of choice as it was easy to restock out in space. It only needed cap charges, some nanite paste, and a handful of extra missiles to keep going. That is important because we had no option to dock up during this deployment.
I think we were there for about a month during which I collected around 25 kill marks. The ship escaped some hairy situations and got me many good fights. Now it serves as a fond memory in my assets.
And I made one of my best PvP videos so far flying it.
Without a doubt, my asset with the most sentimental value that is still with me is my second Rorqual (I sold the first one when I moved to high sec for a while).
I purchased this ship back in 2019 when I was living in Feythabolis, with some financial help from friends. I still remember it cost me 3 billion ISK with part of the fit included. This Rorqual has survived multiple relocations and has traveled across several regions, including Catch, Impass, Stain, Etherium Reach, and Vale of the Silent.
Thanks to this ship, I started a small industrial venture, one full of mistakes and ISK losses at the beginning. It encouraged me to keep more characters active to maximize its potential. It brought me and my friends together for countless hours of mining and even survived a couple of gank attempts.
Its value goes beyond ISK—it lies in the stories it has given us and the many more I hope we’ll create in the future.
My item with sentimental value is my beloved Augoror, lovingly named Snowball III.
To some, it’s just a 12 million ISK ship and fit, but for me, it’s a nostalgic dive into my early days in EVE. This ship holds the distinction of being my very first cruiser, complete with its quirks—a mixed arsenal of guns and dual small reppers.
Over the years, its layout changed by the developers, hence the additional empty slots.
Back when I flew it regularly, rigs didn’t even exist! Snowball III has been sitting in a dock for nearly 20 years. Perhaps it’s time to start a tradition of taking it for a spin around the system once a year?
One of My first objectives in this game I set for my self is having the most Gigantic and Tanky ship that I can, so I made my way right in the special edition ship tree until I made it to the Battleship type called the Praxis and named It : The Solar Panel .
I farmed The Security Missions till I got enough ISK for this big bad boy and also for the fitting, With 462.8 DPS and 45 K + HP made this ship unstoppable, add to it drones It can Snipe from distance too, the feeling of accomplishment made me think I finished the main story now it's just side quests :D, but still isn't a Beautiful.
If there is something I hold dear, that something probably dates back to my time in Alexylva Paradox. Those were the good times for me.
In fact, if I think of something with an emotional value for me, I think of the Stratios cruiser that had been sitting in Jita since 2021 gathering dust. Last time I used it was when I escaped from Alexylva Paradox eviction in 2021, but the last battle it fought goes even further back, in 2018, when me and two corp mates killed a ratting Gila in a nearby hole. That battle was one of those good moments, when things were good, perfect coordination, perfect timing. And it was the last time things really were good for me in EvE.
I could scrap it for ISK, but given that I don't play nor I need the ISK, I prefer to keep it there, knowing it's there, a memory of good fun and friends.
Maybe this story is not about one specific item, rather its about an item type that became special in my journey through Eve Online. I started playing Eve Online in 2022. After flying scan for a bit, I decided to become a trader. Not really understanding how trading works in the game, I looked at prices on the EveMarket website and looked for where I could buy cheap and sell expensive, right away, without using orders(I didn't know that these items were sold and bought by NPCs). And then I saw that in the Domain region (Amarr space) you can buy Slaves and sell them in Jita with a 50% profit! This was the most profitable thing I've seen so far! I was aware of the camps in lowsec, but I didn't want to fly 45 jumps from Amarr to Jita. And then I was suddenly lucky to find a wh from Domain to the system in 3 jumps from Jita! Taking Tayra, I fly to Amarr. I buy slaves for all 20kk isk I have. I fly to the wormhole. I go out to highsec. I warp to the gate with autojump. And then suddenly I get a notification that I'm being fined. I go through the gate, and I'm fined again! and they take all my cargo, because Slaves are illegal in Gallente(where the exit from the wormhole happened to be). Shocked and with negative 40kk isk on my wallet(I never knew it can go below zero), I created a new account to play and a new character with the second name KLEEN, which Is my main char to this day, and which reminds me of this unusual item
One of my most valuable ships is a simple Caracal.
I was a few months old and had just created my second char that I wanted to take into lowsec. I started shooting people and enjoying my life as a pirate, but my security status was lowering, so I decided to shoot NPCs in my free time. I took my trusted Condor out to roam the belts of our home system, but soon it became too dangerous as lowsec NPCs can deal some serious hits to newbie frigates. I thought about getting a Caracal, but cruisers are expensive and lowsec is dangerous!
At that time, my corp temporarily moved to a different system and the veterans were cleaning their hangars. One morning, there was actually not only one, but three fitted Caracals in the free-ships hangar! I kept an eye on them and after two days, no one had taken them out again, so I decided to get one of them. I started using the new ship to check the belts and during the first week or so, I docked every single time someone showed up in local.
It went on for quite long and for a several months I always repaired my security status with my Caracal. After a while, I moved the ship to a different system, it was quieter and had more belts. Then one day, a Loki decloaked on my while I was ratting. It got point and started shooting me. At that time, I had already skilled into thermodynamics so I overheated both my hardeners. A friend was in system running FW sites with his army of alts, so I started calling in local: "Help! Nina, I'm tackled in belt X - planet 5! A Loki caught me!" He actually saw my messages and warped several Drakes and some destroyers into my belt and started shooting the Loki. My hardeners were burning and my shields dropping, but the Loki actually lost point and I managed to warp off to the gate I was aligning to. I jumped system, docked and repaired, and when I came back, The Loki was already dead. I could not believe that I actually survived this encounter!
I docked the Caracal and left it in station for many weeks. Then one day, I decided to fly her home again and docked her on the second station in our system to make sure I would not accidently take her into battle one more. Today, this Caracal is one of my oldest ships. I did not undock her until today where I took a screenshot for this bounty and I probably will not do it again any time soon. Nowadays it's just a cruiser, 15-20mio, but the emotional value remains...
I can't believe it! I just found the killmail by accident. It was not Drakes and destroyers, it was Gnos and Merlins. It happend even before Nina changed his favourite doctrine and seems like I actually did considerable damage aswell! Crazy, I took nearly an hour looking for the killmail, and now found it by pure luck!
Back in 2012 I had just realized I was finally trained enough to finally be able to fly the vaunted Machariel. I mentioned this over on Twitter and the post really started taking off. Eventually Sindel Pelion and a few other fellow Tweetfleet members started a fund raising drive to purchase my first Machariel for me. Back in those days I truly was just a poor Pirate.
Eventually a new Mach was sent to me over contracts and I began the process of getting her fitted up. Over the years I've bought, flown and lost a number of these amazing ships - once rather famously in the NEO Tournament. I even thought, for a brief time, that the original had been lost. But I quickly realized that it has simply been left in another NPC station during a move. She was quickly retrieved and - believe it or not - she still sits in my hangar to this day.
And this is not (like my original Tengu) a ship I do not fly. She gets undocked and flown when the moment calls for it, but she has - against all odds - survived intact.
Her name is "Tweetfleet" in honor of those who donated.
These days her value is more sentimental than anything and I probably won't be using her in any actions that might see her destroyed. I can afford to lose a lot of ships, but some of them are worth more alive.
If I have to choose one it is definitely the Augoror, maybe because it is one of the first in this experience, the fact remains that it is always number one for me. Even if it is not a real war machine, it supported me in moments in which for what little I could do it was exceptional. It is not just a ship, but an ally during the journey.
One of the most meaningful items for me in EVE is my first Rifter, the iconic Minmatar frigate. It wasn’t fancy or valuable, but it was the ship that marked my first foray into low-sec space as a newbie pilot.
I remember fitting it with whatever modules I could afford (and barely understanding what they did). My goal was simple: try some PvP and not lose my nerves the first time someone locked me. It didn’t go well—I was obliterated within minutes by a more experienced player. But instead of trash-talking, they reached out afterward, shared advice, and even sent me some ISK to cover my loss. They told me, “We’ve all been there. Keep flying brave.”
That little Rifter became a symbol of my learning curve in EVE. I kept the wreck’s killmail and bought a new Rifter soon after, naming it "Phoenix" to represent my comeback. Even though I eventually moved on to bigger ships, I still keep one fully fitted Rifter in my hangar as a reminder of where I started and how far I’ve come. It’s a sentimental relic in a universe that rarely forgives mistakes but always rewards perseverance
The submission system is telling me a "verified video" is required. I've linked my Youtube and other social media accounts to my profile, but it still will not accept my submission.
My submission and screenshots are ready.
How do I go about properly submitting to this challenge?
Forum Topic discussing the awarding of Muryia's Wings as a medal, as well as the original link to the backstory of the Battle of Caldari Prime; I still have the original story post...I really need to upload it to EVE University's Wikipedia...
Heyo, sorry about the tech issue and glad you've worked it out! This is one we're aware of. Do give me a tag (using @alexsinclairlack) if you come across any other bugs, I might not see your message if you don't. o7
One of the most iconic and emotionally significant items in EVE Online is the Gold Magnate. This legendary frigate is not only a symbol of rarity but also a reminder of one of the most dramatic and impactful events in the game’s history.
The Gold Magnate was an incredibly powerful and beautiful ship awarded to the winner of one of EVE Online's earliest official tournaments. Only a handful of these ships existed, making it a highly coveted and rare item. However, its fame grew due to a tragic story tied to its destruction.
One of the first tournament winners, piloting their Gold Magnate, was ambushed and destroyed in the game. This event not only eliminated one of the few existing copies of the ship but also left a lasting mark on the community, highlighting how in EVE Online nothing is permanent and everything can be lost. Since then, the Gold Magnate has never been made available to players again, cementing its status as a legend in the world of New Eden.
Its story perfectly captures the essence of EVE Online: a universe where risk and loss are intrinsic to the experience, and where items are more than just pixels—they are symbols of shared history, triumphs, and failures. Whenever the Gold Magnate is mentioned, it’s not just a ship being remembered but a collective piece of the game’s legacy.
One item with sentimental value for me is the Shadows in my hangar, I got them from killing a faction titan, the Komodo, where I was the tackler and the FC. Sadly the Komodo was my friend from a previous alliance :). I've also kept the Nightmare that dropped from his Komodo too, and appropriately named it "Looted from a Komodo"
