What do you have planned for the weekend?

Hey folks, instead of our usual update we're going to let you in on a little ritual we have at Just About. Each Friday our team gets together for a brief pause where we chat about our plans for the weekend.

Today we thought we'd open this up to the community!

I'll be doing some 🔨DIY 🪚tomorrow but probably not much else. On Sunday I'm playing 🦑Call of Cthulhu🦑 with some friends, followed by a screening of 🧟Dawn of the Dead 🧟which is organised by the local horror convention.

So, what's the plan for this weekend?

A week ago i moved to Linux, specifically Linux Garuda, i'm planning to definitely stop using Windows (11).

I'm still learning a lot about it, and slowly replacing every software i used on Windows with a similar or better counterpart in Linux.

It's like a new technological adventure and im enjoying it. 😊

i tried ubuntu a couple years ago, but wifi drivers for the most produced and used chip on the market weren't available, there is no wired connection where i am, so i discontinued using it, i must say it shit all over windows for performance, i'll look into it again though, windows is more focused on data mining than being a OS, and i am constantly looking for something else.

There's got to be a workaround, the people involved the Linux ecosystem are quite smart, from developers to the advanced users.

Best luck, let me know how was the experiment. It seems like Fedora, Manjaro or even the beautifully complex Arch Linux are between the robusts distros for Wifi 😎

Boomer I think I’d like to chat 1-on-1 about call of Cthulu as a TTRPG. I am not a TTRPG player, but I am a storyteller at heart and a Lovecraft Scholor, so Chtulu sounds like a game I’d like to GM/DM. Just pick your brain on how it goes generally.

I’m very familiar with the formats of Dead Lands, Blades in the Dark and DnD so I’m not a complete newb when it comes to the facts and standards.

got roadworthy for vehicle in a couple weeks, so i'll be going over all mechanical components with a fine tooth comb, so if anything needs repairing i can repair it, not having a vehicle is out of the question 30klm from the nearest town. :)

I'm reading through A Song of Ice and Fire. It's a little late in the game, I know, but I've wanted to give it an honest try after the last time I bounced off Game of Thrones. I liked the show well enough and I love House of the Dragon even more, but many people who had read the books prior to the television show coming out told me the books go a wildly different direction and have a substantially better story than the GoT show.

I'll also be working my way through Fallout 3. I'm playing sections of the game and then listening to a podcast about it. I've never played a Fallout game before so this is a double-whammy of things I like: podcasts and video games. I'm also planning to dip back into Star Wars: Outlaws because holy shit that game is good (if you love Star Wars and especially Sabacc). I'll probably catch a few episodes of Mobile Gundam Suit Victory in there somewhere and perhaps a little of something else.

Our plan for today was to go to my Local warhammer store to enter a painting competition while my mrs gets her nails done.

Well my wife is really happy with her nails and I came away with the silver award!

We finished off with a mixed grill at a restaurant and watched some tv at home.

Tomorrow is chore day and I have a shower to try and fix lol.

Oh I forgot to mention, I also have Monday off 😁 so video games and beer day!

My weekends are very busy, because I go back home (I study in another city), so I try to reconcile the time between studying, enjoying time with my family, my boyfriend and resting. It's almost always like that, but it's great!
