Record your own festive song or Christmas carol!

Hello everyone,

I present to you my song dedicated to Christmas.

It is an orchestral piece that I composed yesterday with the piano and I finished it today.

I was very tempted to make it cinematic and I also wanted to put a soprano aswell and a lot of staff more... but in the end I preferred to leave it simple, by doing so I think it respected the Christmas mood ass i intended, much more better...maybe..

On the technical side, I started by improvising with a midi keyboard recording in Ableton Live. I made a video but I can't record it proprely, so i send a photo of my home studio with the project open and a link of the song. Maybe if you need the video of the project running, i can send it, but the audio is not so good.. it crackling a bit..

So, how did i do? i start improvising and recording just a one take and starting from zero, with keyboard in Ableton and then I changed instruments of the midi note clip recorded, using Kontakt orchestral libraries, quantizing and divided the notes and chords into sections developing the separate parts for the orchestra. In the track there are a complete sections of Strings, Woodwinds and a group of French Horns.

I called it Christmas Requiem.

Because I was inspired by this very difficult period that humanity is going through, so i wasn't able to do something only just complete positive, so i create even some nostalgic mood and some tension with the christmas song.

The track is structured like this:

The introduction is original invented from scratch that recalls familiar Christmas places, a snowy landscape, a living room with a lit fireplace... then I continued with a famous nostalgic theme by Ennio Morricone to underline the Wild West period that the world is experiencing today. Followed by a traditional Christmas song rearranged, that ends with another famous classical song placed in such a way as to recall the passage from the magic of Christmas as a Children to the materialism of man who has lost his imagination and his innocence, and then ends with the dark theme of Krampus.

a journey of birth and death through Christmas that recalls the cycle of the seasons.

For this bounty, I thought of a song with a romantic and upbeat feel, but with a Christmas vibe, of course. It was inspired by Maryah Carrey's "All I Want for Christmas is You". To make it, I used the UDIO AI.

When I thought of this bounty, I tried to associate an emotional memory of mine with the beginning songs of Christmas movies, where it always starts with a snowy window and the mother taking hot food out of the oven. I hope I can convey this feeling to you. I tried to add elements of just about, which makes it even more unique haha. I made it with AI, it's called UDIO.

I love macabre songs in the wrong places, I made this one AI generated and by coincidence the style generated was of one of my favourites bands Harley Poe while I was aiming in the The Nightmare Before Christmas.

As a disclaimer, the AI in general is a fantastic tool but the similarity with Harley Poe reminds me how those tools stolen content from other artists and is harmful for the art industry in general (Painting, Music, Movies, etc).

I enjoy to play with those tools but see people using AI as the basis of their career is at minimal worrying, for them and fro their clients.
