My favourite piece of tech has to be this “nightlight” I found on Amazon, which I now use as a Tesseract for my Captain Marvel cosplay 🙌

the coolest technology I have is this, I don't know what it's called but in my country Indonesia we call it T Terminal/Terminal T, why is this the coolest technology I have because in my room I only have one electrical socket, so I bought this cheap one now I can use some electrical devices

Universal adaptors are a thing and a must for travellers.

But when will other nations learn that the UK three pronged socket is the GOAT.
A few more years of colonialism and the brits could have wiped out a market of electronics..

Don't think it will beat that Tesseract, but here is my laptop cooler with RGB lights. I was mostly going for a reliable performance with adjustable fan settings, so I can have them more quiet with normal use and turn them up for heavy duty when I'm streaming, but I didn't expect it to come with the RGB strip! You can set static colours so mostly I have it on red to match my setup, but this pulsing one is quite cool.

This is a Palette Modular editing system that I use for Photoshop with my Wacom Cintiq set-up. Years ago some of my friends in Eve Online got together and got this for me for my birthday. Each modular unit is customizable and can be mapped to any function you want to use it for. And they go together any way you'd like. They do use a USB port, so sometimes they have to be discarded for something else, but they are always handy. Simple, yet elegant.

My bad. I shall forever be shamed and constantly reminded of this failure until my final days.

I just got a really cool piece of tech yesterday. I saw someone at work with this and I knew I just had to have it, so I patiently waited this Amazon Prime day to get it on a deal hahha

This is the KUXIUO magnetic foldable Wireless charger for your Apple products.

You plug this in used a USB-C and you can pop your phone on (it sticks too so can use as a stand), put your watch on and place your AirPods and it will charge at the same time. The good this is the charger has surge control so one your devices are 97% it stops charging to prevent overcharging. And the best thing is that it’s foldable so it’s so small and compact!

So this is part of the "tech" haul I got for my birthday, everyone who has seen it or seen a photo of it has said it's cool and I love it. The picture doesn't do it justice, it is quite big lol.

So it's a Iron man, posed light up USB powered light, which I am also using as a nightlight (when the baby wakes up, hard to navigate a room in sheer blackness lol) and it's lightweight and fun.

Drone-Like Footage Without the Drone

While I have many tools and gadgets I could spotlight, one in particular has completely changed how I produce content in crowded areas or places where drones are prohibited, such as museums or churches. Last year, I discovered 360 cameras and reimagined the way I capture content.

My small camera arsenal

I also created a setup where I attach a pole to my backpack, freeing both hands. While the camera captures everything around me, I can simultaneously shoot additional footage with my handheld camera for post-production highlights, thumbnails, wallpapers, or slow-motion elements. Converting 360 video into 2D allows me to frame shots later, including focal length adjustments.

This setup has greatly reduced my stress on-site, as I'm not worried about missing anything important. I can enjoy the moment like everyone else, knowing I can do my work later when I'm at home.

Here’s a quick example using an Insta360 X3 action camera on a 3-meter pole at Pride a month ago.

In crowded areas, indoors, or places where drones are prohibited, this setup is incredibly useful. It allows you to capture stunning aerial-like shots while staying within regulations. The 3-meter pole provides the necessary height and perspective, and with 360-degree capture, you can simulate drone movements and angles.

This method adds versatility to any content creator's toolkit, offering dynamic and immersive footage without the need for a drone.

Nintendo's new 3Ds went under the radar of most consumers. It came out after the original 3DS was picking up steam but wasn't really seen as an upgrade that was vital for most users and with the cheaper 2DS that came out, it wasn't really able to find it's place. Also the name was kinda silly with the 'new' prefix.

However it did boast a lot of great new features one of which was improved 3D capability. Now you didn't have to hold your head in one place to get the 3D to work and it would even work with people that were looking over your shoulder. Coupled with some nostalgia classics from the N64 with new graphics like Zelda and Star Fox, it made you feel like a kid again with mind blowing effects!
amiibo support was also a nice touch

Lastly the games. Only a few games required the new 3DS specs like Xenoblade and before the switch took the portable hardware to an all new level, us RPG fans relished with joy especially when could finally take Earthbound and Breath of Fire on the go. And RPGs are best enjoyed on a long-haul travel.

I thik the coolest tech I own is the Joy-Con. Not the whole Nintendo Swich, but specifically the gamepad controller. It's very compact, durable, and packed with all sorts of tech:

  1. Accelerometer

  2. Gyroscope

  3. HD Rumble

  4. Infrared (IR) Motion Camera

  5. NFC Reader

  6. Face Buttons (A, B, X, Y)

  7. Plus (+) Button

  8. Home Button

  9. Clickable Analog Stick

  10. SL and SR Buttons

It has an enduring battery and Bluetooth connectivity, meaning you can use it with any Bluetooth-enabled device.

There are various add-ons like a wheel controller, bigger grip, dual Joy-Con holder, and even a fitness Pilates ring! The IR sensor can measure your heart rate during fitness activities.

The engineer who invnted it is a genius!
