I'm looking for a tablet which could be used for digital handwitten note taking and for completing pdf worksheets. I used to have a Samsung tablet at uni 10+ years ago, and found the glass surface very slippery so was thinking a paperlike device might suit my needs better. But since I'm still experimenting with this, I would like something on a lower budget or get a second hand device. Based on suggestions I found so far I'm debating a Kindle Scribe or iPad with Apple pencil.
This is what I would be using it for:
mainly to complete Japanese writing practice pdf worksheets
quick handwritten notes which could be transferred easily to other devices
Some bonus points beside an iPad would be the possibility to use complex note taking apps like GoodNotes or Notability. But... I dislike that these can stop working whenever Apple decides not to push updates anymore, so probably I would have to go for a more recent, more expensive device...
Does anyone have any experience with writing with an Apple pen? How slippery it is? I heard that you can buy paperlike screen protector for ipad... but also apparently the newer Samsung pens are not that slippery as they used to be.
Tried my colleague's Kindle Scribe today and quite liked how it felt writing on it, and liked that it was not glaring into my face like a normal tablet would, but I'm not yet sold on the way how you need to send stuff to email to upload to it or to send completed pdf back to your PC.
Edit: another thing speaking for the iPad would be the ability to use the various language learning apps and dictionaries which I currently use on my phone.
