Roll for initiative: this is Just About's first-ever Dungeons & Dragons bounty. And yes, we know that it doesn't fit super neatly in our Video Games community, but check out this post for an explanation of why it's here.
All that said, you don't need to have played D&D to enter this bounty. You just need to be able to be able to think up an annoying fantasy item. We'll give you a few ideas to get the ball dice rolling:
Crown of the Beleaguered Poet: A crown of gilded roses that cannot be removed from the wearer's head and forces them to speak in rhyme. Users take D4 of psychic damage for every failed couplet.
Ring of the Red-handed: A ring with a translucent opal stone that will turn its wearer invisible but only while no one is watching.
The Philosopher's Blade: A talking sword with a book-shaped hilt that always deals critical hits, but first its wielder must persuade the blade that it's ethically right to use it on the intended target.
There's no minimum wordcount for this bounty, but do make sure your idea is clearly explained. Bonus points if you can think of a way a clever player could still use the cursed item to their advantage. Don't forget to give it a name!
