I believe that cheating can be a form of protest, as when I think of GTA V online and its abusive prices that almost force players to pay to have access to new things. I believe that cheating in competitive games can NEVER be acceptable, but in cases like GTA, where cheating simply involves you having money in the game that the developer has purposely made to be unattainable, I agree.

CHEAT TRICK UNBLOCK

Cheat could be Good or bad depending on the situation for example when you are in a single player game but is too difficult or get trapped in a level

To use cheat , trick or Mods can help to make the game continue running and enjoying the experience

But

in VS games like fighting, racing or first person shooter there to be a Cheater is a dishonorable way to play and win without trust in your own capabilities

Be Honest play right

As Kane Carnifex said, No one cared if I changed stats in Fallout 2, added ores in Morrowind, or used infinite slow-mo in Max Payne. Back in the day, cheats or trainers acted like a 'creative mode'. That’s how I learned many game mechanics and systems, which eventually helped me land my first job at a game studio.

However, when it comes to multiplayer games, where your actions directly affect other players, it's a completely different story. In those cases, cheating is unacceptable and, in my opinion, should always be a bannable offense—no exceptions.

Exactly, cheats used to be a fun thing to mess around with after you'd beaten the game or in your case to understand deeper mechanics in a game without having access to devkits. But if you need to cheat in a fun online multiplayer game to get anywhere, you got some serious skill issues.

Cheating in story mode on GTA was always one of the most fun parts of the game spawn a tank and 5* wanted level then just cause absolute chaos.

Single player is creative and fun, whereas multilayer cheating and XP exploits just put people who are wanting to play legit in a pickle when they aren't able to get a fair crack to progress and enjoy a fair competitive game.

'Pay to win' games are an absolute travesty too, sucking players in to a vicious spending cycle to try and keep up and stay competitive!

I think there is nothing to discuss; such behavior is not accepted in any online game.

Cheating in an online game is not acceptable. It messes with others experience of the game and undermines the community the developer is trying to create.

Cheating in a single player game is not as bad aslong as it dosent impact others like leaderboards for example.

The last PVP game i was passionaly dedicated was Battlefield 3 (2011), and cheating took me away from that modality forever, today i only play PVE focused game to avoid that horrible irritation you feel when cheaters invade you favorite game.
