S.I.N. Rounds (Swarm Infiltration Nanites)

For MMOFPS EVE Vanguard

S.I.N. Rounds are a kinetic shell that fractures on contact with energy shields, releasing a swarm of nanites, tiny to be intercepted by shield harmonics. These nanites chewing through external plating and breaking suit's systems while dealing slow, damage to the Vanguard inside.

They’re similar in purpose to Sturmer’s Disrupt rounds, but a lot more straightforward. No disorientation, no scrambling HUDs, just pure, corrosive damag over time

While they don’t offer up-front punch, they might just be a blessing for players like me who miss more than they hit. Even a few landed shots start something that hurts. Each new hit refreshes the effect and adds a bit more damage, stacking a damage-over-time effect the longer you stay on target. Its like a mix of Triglavian Entropic Disintegrators and Breacher Pods, not overwhelming at first, but deadly if you keep the constant pressure.

If you think I’m some kind of weapons systems expert : don’t be fooled. Most of these terms were shamelessly borrowed from completely unrelated scientific papers I found on my husband’s desk. They just sounded like they belonged here, hahaha.

Disrupt Rounds

There’s no shortage of ammo in New Eden, but there are only 2 for the EVE Vanguard. For this Ammo Design Challenge, I’m throwing in my own concept: Disrupt Rounds - tactical ammunition designed for those who thrive on tension, stealth, and electronic warfare.

Instead of high direct damage, these rounds emit a focused EMP pulse on impact, inflicting mild damage-over-time (2/sec for 15s), pausing enemy shield regeneration, and causing a blackout of the target’s combat suit UI (crosshair, radar, and friend-or-foe detection) for 6 seconds per hit. The effect can be removed early by using biomass, which also grants brief immunity from debuff reapplication.

Disrupt Rounds are designed for medium-to-long range combat and squad support, perfect for suppressing snipers and breaking shield regen cycles in prolonged cover gunfights. Not very effective in close-quarters fights.

Developed in the mobile foundries of the Thukker Tribe, the Freyja Webcaster was born of necessity and perfected through desperation. Designed to counter the fast-moving predators of nullsec and lowsec space, this elegant weapon launches a device that anchors itself onto a target’s hull. Once anchored, it envelops the target in micro energy streams which effectively entangle the target temporarily, thereby slowing it down.

While it lacks the raw stopping power of a Stasis Webifier, the Webcaster’s ability to reach across the void and slow fleeing prey has made it a favorite utility among tribal hunters, pirates, and fast-attack warbands.

- Provides a counter to kiting gameplay where a Combat Recon is unavailable and you just need to slow the target down just a little.
- Compliments existing Webifier gameplay while not overshadowing it, fulfilling a niche that kiting ships typically go unchallenged.
- Varying Charge Types for situational use.
- Can be firewalled by smartbombs

I had a lot of fun putting this together, and I'm very happy with the concept behind this. It's something my group would use and feels like an appropriate extension of existing tech in the universe of EVE Online! :D

Enabling to counter cynos, finally a possibility. To make it somewhat balanced:

- 200m3 bomb so only T2 Bomb launcher can use it and only 2 to 3 can be carried in a bomber, 3 if the bomber has cargohold expanders.

- Bomb Deployment at 4 minimum to reduce the number of pilots able to use it

- +100% reactivation timer if the ammunition is loaded in the bomb launcher which mean a minimum of 160 sec between each bomb with max skills.

- Obviously targetable by defender missiles.

- The cyno isn't destroyed, it's suppressed for 30 seconds.
