My favorite ship for brawling is the legendary Battle Heron!

Excellent for baiting larger blaster ships, it never fails to get a laugh out of the locals and the salty tears from the capsuleers you send back to Jita 4-4!

Never take a fight against ships that use drones or missiles, but a cocky Hecate or Sabre will go down quickly with your weapon disruption, rail gun and party drones.

Here is a TikTok of me taking on such a Sabre.

You've gone a step beyond by proving your fit works in action. And I loved that enthusiasm after taking down the Sabre. Thanks for this great submission!

Ahoy mateys! Cap'n Grim here to show you the best way to lose 1.1b - I mean.... BRAWL LIKE A MAN!

Are you tired of PVP being "anchor, burn, follow broadcast targets" and want EXCITEMENT and LOSSMAILS in your life? I've got the fit for you. A fitting fit for a KING!

The Hyperion is the the most macho ship out there. With bonuses to Hybrid Turrets, Armor Plates, and Armor Reps, the fit is clear: Dual Reps with Blasters. Toss in a Grappler to hold your target close (BECAUSE SHOWING AFFECTION IS MANLY TOO) and you're on your way bankruptcy and fun! Don't forget your drugs!

Want to deal 1000 dps but Tech 2 guns are for omegas only? Too poor to buy a battleship? Look no further! Enginered by the Federation Navy the Exequror Navy Issue. Does exactly what the Tier 1 Exequror does...BUT BACKWARDS! Why reparing your oponents armor when you can vaporize it instead.

Relatively cheap, Alpha Friendly, effective and really fun. It only has 4 guns but it is somehow able to spit 1000 DPS Overheated, the fit I made is based from a Vedmak I used to fly a lot, with a single armor repairer but the hability to fit an armor plate for extra buffer and with little to no mass penalties so it still keeps the hability to close ranges and scam something fast enough. Would recommend.

The Gnosis is one of Eve's prettiest ships, and with its bonuses to basically everything it means you never quite know how one is fit when you come up against it. Every year players receive one to celebrate Eve's birthday, so they're nice and cheap too.

I use mine to gatecamp with drag bubbles. Slap a bubble down near a gate and see what falls into the trap.

Getting on for 1000dps, 36kehp, a scan resolution of 1225mm and overpropped with a 100mn afterburner, your engagement profile is as wide as your imagination. The sensor boosters help to catch anyone thinking they can microwarpdrive away from you before you can lock them, as well as catching those pesky exploration frigates. Once you have your target locked down, start blastin'.

We hope to run more ship fitting bounties soon. So do let us know here if you have any feedback or ideas for them (formats, best sniping fits, best Bane fits, etc.)

greybill's avatar

I'd like to see people's suggestions for kiting cruiser and battlecruiser fits.

Alex Sinclair's avatar

Thanks for the suggestion! I'm sure we can make that happen.

This Vexor Navy Issue fitting is intended to roam nullsec and pochven with. It is was I call a "semi-brawler" as it utilizes a long-point instead of a scram. Together with the web, it enables the ship to stay at arm's length towards potential baiting ships while sending in drones for the dirty work.

The fact it has dual-armor repairers requires good cap management. Some experience may be required to fly it well. As moth active-rep ships, your arch nemesis are energy neutralizers. The ideal targets of this VNI are of Cruiser or Battlecruiser caliber.

Howdy, Greybill. That looks like a great fit and a great submission, but if you want to be considered for a prize, you need to go to the top and hit the purple 'Enter' button not 'Reply'. Then you can just copy-paste your post into your entry

greybill's avatar

Thank you. I just did that. I guess for readabilities sake, my "Reply" should rather be removed then.

Edit: Actually, I can try that myself.

Edit2: It worked. :)

This is the absolute definition of smooth brain brawler. I use it as general bait or bubble guard in Pochven. It looks really engagable, people will take the fight. Go on. Get in a really, really dumb fight. Call your friends. With all that hull, they'll have plenty of time to arrive and escalate into a brawl. Even if you're alone, all that buffer can make little targets over commit on you repeatedly, thinking they might be the one to drag you down. Gobble them up.

Have fun. :D

MOA Brawling

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1nPZ5pUzFaE

Being a T1 Cruiser many players underrestimate the Moa and it's great tank and DPS. Together with guranteed close range engagement through the ESS this fit is a highly effective brawling shup punching above his weight!

A really subjective bounty! - Bottom line is there is no best ship or best fit in my opinion.

Brawling requires raw muscle and bags of commitment. Once you start an engagement, for the most part you are fully committed because of the short ranged weapons, and likely scram-web fit. For the most part, an MWD is common, but an AB gives better close range mobility, and the ability to evade enemy fire.

The ship i have chosen is the Federation Navy Comet, often referred to as the Fed Navy Comet, or just the Comet.

It has an AB, scram for tackle , a Medium Shield Extender (MSE) for tank, & blasters + warriors for damage.

This punches well above its weight and is a great little ship to fly!

A couple of worthy points: an AB ship will always have a difficult time catching a kiting ship. If you are not able to force an engagement at zero (or thereabouts) probably best move along!

It needs a 603 implant to fit the nos!

This is my favourite fit from those posted here.

When I think of brawling, I think of fast moving 1v1 frigate fights. My favourite brawler is the blaster daredevil. If you get that beast to orbit at 500m, it's melting whatever it's up against.

Your FNC fit is the closest thing to that style of gameplay. It's got the AB for the tight orbit, making it difficult to track. It's cap stable. It has the void loaded for maximum DPS. It has the hull tank rigs, which I also favour. I'd even bump them up to Small Transverse Bulkhead IIs - commit yourself! :) I'd also swap the warriors for acolytes but that's just nit-picking.

Give this man a bounty!

FUN INC's avatar

Thx MacGybo ! - I'd toyed with the acolytes - but opted for the warriors - tbh - they are interchangeable imho - see which has better outcomes - it's the old marginal gains argument. Agree with the T2 rigs though - i may republish / reply with that fit too.

Time permitting I was going to bash out some solo chops in a video but sadly AT priorities over the weekend (tldr, [TA.] losing a FS Barg in 32 secs to get knocked out of the AT was far more important!) so time unfortunately didnt allow me to do so!
