Assault

Assault is a fast and fairly easy to understand game mode, it consists of a 5vs5 in a single lane where the only objective is to push the waves of minions until destroying the structures of the enemy team and being able to defeat the titan. In addition, this game mode has certain characteristics that differentiate it from the rest, such as:

  • Random God: Upon entering the god selection lobby, all players will be assigned a random god and will be offered the opportunity to re-roll their god once per match. Additionally, the game will balance the teams in a certain way that if one team has a healing god, the other team will also get one of the same tier.

  • Extra Gold: At the start of the game all players will have 3000 gold which will make it possible to buy at least one complete item at the beginning.

  • No Base: Once you leave your base you cannot return until you die and respawn, this makes it quite important not to die if you do not have enough gold to buy items

  • Random Buff: In this game mode there is no jungle, but there is an area near the middle of the lane where a random buff spawns. This can represent a great advantage when fighting since that buff can be anything from a simple jungle buff to the fire giant's dagger.

In this game mode it is important to try to maintain a balance in the team composition, trying to at least have a tank and a magical and physical DPS. It is also important to buy items that give you life theft or life regeneration to be able to stay alive as long as possible and be able to buy several items at once. Some good items for this are:

  • Amanita Charm: This is probably the best item for assault if you are a tank since its active makes you heal your allies every 60 seconds in an area on the ground.

  • Soul Gem: It provides you with percentage lifesteal and also gives you and your allies a burst of healing thanks to its passive.

  • Blood-bound Book and Bloodforge: These two items work in a similar way since only their statistics change but the active is the same, when using it it gives you a shield and 20% life steal for 6 seconds that can be very useful when it comes to staying alive in lane

ASSAULT

Arguably the most unique mode in SMITE 2, Assault does several things different than your typical game mode:

  • God picks are completely random (with 1 re-roll per player)

  • There's no recalling to base to buy items or heal. The only way to do that is death.

  • It's single-lane with no surrounding Jungle area whatsoever.

This combination of factors lead to a wildly different experience than you'll get in Conquest, Assault or Arena and it's one my favorite modes because of it. You simply can't find anything like Assault anywhere else.

MY PERSONAL TIPS:

Due to this uniqueness, the 'meta' of Assault is very different to any other mode and even some Gods or items that are top tier in Conquest or Joust might be awful in Assault and vice-versa, so here's a few tips you can use to get the edge in Assault for SMITE 2!

  • An obvious one, but healing/regeneration is VERY strong in Assault. There is a system where if one team gets a 'healer god' (Currently Aphrodite, Ra, Yemoja, Baron Samedi and Cupid) then the other team also gets one. DON'T REROLL YOUR TEAM'S HEALER unless you want to almost certainly lose that match. You might not enjoy the God, but at the very least try to trade it to an ally and don't just reroll it. You're not guaranteed to get another healer if you roll and it will pretty much lose you the game on the spot.

  • On a similar note, healing items are also amazing. Amanita Charm is one that most if not all tank builds should have, often as your first item. It heals your whole team on a relatively short cooldown and can often heal as much as a Healer God throughout the match. It's VERY strong. Other heal items are also good like Yogi's Necklace and Phoenix Feather.

  • Because healing is strong, anti-healing is also strong! Buying items like Divine Ruin, Brawler's Ruin and Ruinous Ankh will greatly increase your chances of winning, especially against teams with a Healer. You might do slightly less damage or be slightly less tanky than a build without it, but the Anti-heal is invaluable in this mode.

  • Tanks are also incredibly strong in Assault. The mode is all about fighting and longevity, having no tanks makes the match VERY rough for your team as you don't have anyone to control space and crowd control enemies. Without tanks, you'll get permanently pushed under your tower and won't have a good time. Just like healers, try to avoid re-rolling tanks unless you absolutely have to, try trading them away first.

  • Poking is also very important. Having Gods on your team that have easy to hit, long range poke abilities is one of the strongest features you can have in Assault. Since everyone is always staring at each other in a single lane, the team that pokes better will win the long game since you can't reliably heal. So any Gods will reliable, long-range poke will be excellent in this mode

  • DON'T INTERRUPT JUMP PARTIES. If everyone is jumping and emoting in the lane before minions spawn, don't start trying to kill people or I will personally snipe every Assault game you play and focus you the whole match, thank you :)

But that's Assault! Hopefully these tips have been helpful for you but don't forget to just have fun, this mode isn't taken too seriously a lot of the time as you may have gathered from my last tip. The randomness and wild ruleset makes it so tryharding to the max in this mode isn't that common and you can just goof around and have some good fun.

Assault is a simple but fun game mode in both SMITE 1 and SMITE 2.
It now features Conquest's Mid lane as the playable map with the TP's for faster runbacks right at action.

What distinguishes Assault from any other game mode is the fact that you cannot recall to base to heal and replenish your mana and instead it's a fight until the death in order to give you the ability to progress on your builds. This makes up for very peculiar strategies such as META being completely different from other game modes and items also differentiating accordingly.

I really recommend 3 things:

1. Look out for Healers and long range Gods during Picks and Bans.
You won't have as much space to play as a short range Assassin.

2. Build Items that have a lot of HP5 or items that heal you and your team and use it off CD.

3. Know when to die so you can achieve your power spikes with new items!

In SMITE 2, the Assault mode relies its core mechanics from SMITE 1, where two teams of five players are each assigned random gods. Players can trade gods among teammates and have the option to reroll their assigned god once for another random selection.

Currently, Assault is played on a temp map made from a modified version of Conquest mid lane. This is a placeholder, and the devs plan to introduce a new fresh Assault map with unique art assets in the future.

There are a bunch of new features that have been introduced in SMITE 2's Assault

Stealth Zones: These are taken from Conquest, there basically are two stealth zones located between the tier 1 towers in the mid lane and next to the random buff pickup area.

Lane Teleporter: This teleporter transports players to the farthest undestroyed structure. Once both towers are destroyed, the teleporter becomes inactive.

Meditation Relic: Each player starts with an activatable relic called Meditation, placed in one of the consumable slots instead of the default relic slot.

Random Buff Pickups: A buff spawner near the middle lane randomly spawns a jungle buff or a consumable from Conquest, such as Inspiration, Pathfinder, Caustic, Primal, Runic Bomb, Crystalline Egg, or Obsidian Dagger. In SMITE 2's Assault mode, success hinges on strategic team composition, effective use of rerolls, and coordinated gameplay. Here's how to maximize your chances of victory:

tips tricks and strategies

Aim for a well-rounded team that includes a mix of damage dealers, tanks, and support characters.

Having at least one healer can provide a significant advantage, offering sustained heals during long fights which often happen in Assault.

Use your reroll to fix gaps in your team comp. For instance, if your team lacks a tank or healer, consider rerolling to fill that role. Additionally, if you're assigned a god that is less effective in Assault's single-lane format, a reroll might just be a better option.

Gameplay Tips

Focus on clearing minion waves to gain gold and XP advantages. Just play defensive until your team secures more items and starts to look for fights.

Utilize the bushes for cheesy ambushes. Control the random buff pickups to gain advantages during fights.

Communicate with your team via voicechat or VGS to make sure ur all on the same page, manage ur abilities aka try to not start a fight while ur dmg dealer just cleared the wave with his kit, and focus targets together with ur team.

What is Assault?

This game mode consists of a 5 vs 5 team on a map with a single lane with 2 towers, 1 phoenix and the Titan in addition to no jungle present with the curious change that the god to choose will be random from all the gods available in the game, It will allow a single random change in case you want to change gods and you can also change gods with your partner in case you want to use the one he got.

Another difference about this game mode is that you cannot return to base at any time during the game, the fountain or spawn location does not heal, you cannot buy items unless you die and Once you leave the spawn you will not be able to buy again even if you walk back, In this game mode you start with a relic or active objective in the consumable items section which is permanent and you will need to win the game, on the map there are objects which can be grabbed in a total of 3, one in the middle of the map and the other 2 between the 2 towers on each side

It is a curious and fun game mode that allows you to try new things but is equally demanding and intense for the following reasons

Fights and strategies

Since in this game mode you cannot heal yourself at base or buy items until you die, you must be very careful when fighting and confrontations That's why I'll give you some tips to help

  • - Changed builds should be created to help the team by purchasing items that help heal, escape or boost during fights as well as prioritizing team healing at all times.

  • - It will always be very helpful to have an allied god who heals or deals damage from a distance to annoy or help the enemy, this is linked to the luck of the team but it is something to keep in mind.

  • - Since it can only be bought upon death, you can take advantage of dying against a tower or phoenix after a team fight to avoid killing an enemy god.

  • - Steal the enemy team's healing buffs even if you're not going to use them yourself to take away their healing ability.

  • - Teamwork is important to create combos and thus eliminate and win the game.

  • - Observe the enemy team well and create your build depending on your role to mitigate the enemy team

  • - Think carefully about which relics or active item to use as they are vital in this game mode.

Recommendation

Assault is a game mode that will test your skills with different gods which you may have never used but it is a great way to have fun and learn more about all the gods, on how they are used, their abilities, weaknesses and strengths so that they can be used in other game modes

But above all, this game mode is for fun rather than competition, have fun with the randomness of the game mode

L

Assault is a 1 lane 5 vs 5 game mode.

start with random picks for both teams and you have 1 rerole for each player with a trade god optin between teammates.

when the match start you have 3000 gold each player to buy items, you cant return to base like other modes when press B the only way to return to base is when you die.

each team has 2 towers 1 phoenix and the titan you have to defend them to win.

tips for assault

1. make sure you have 1 tank at least 1 healer 2 hunter and a magical, this is the best team comb to win assault

2. farming minions with your team is verey important to make sure all of your teamates get xp and gold to buy items and level up.

3. there is some heal items you should buy for sustane and help your team to heal and stay in the fights as pissible.

4. for the healer god like(aphrodite, ymoja, baron samedi) make sure to give these gods to your teamate that hes good with them so he can be more usefull to your team.

5. you have to earn gold as much as you can to buy items because you can't buy items any time you want you have to die to buy items.

Assault is a smite gamemode similar ARAM of league where you and your team fight the enemy team in a 5v5 one lane brawl, but there is a catch, everyone is given a random god with the option to reroll or switch with your teammates.

Assault is in my opinion one of the most fun gamemodes becouse of the intrinsic casual vibe within its rules. Everyone is testing new gods and strange off-meta builds just for the purpose of having the most fun.

Another quirk of the gamemode is the inability to go back to fountain which means the only way for you to buy items and/or regenerate your healthbar in full is to go out in a blaze of glory fighting.

Some tips for newer players for this mode:
Lifesteal is more worth in this gamemode as you have limited avenues of regenerating your HP, in that vein healing characters and anti-heal are crucial for an assault match.
there are also orbs of healing allong the lane that provide an AOE heal to your teammates. I recommend pinging your team if you need one of the orbs giving your wounded teammates the ability to heal too.

and most importantly, have fun with the gamemode. Its not competitive, you don't need to worry about common smite etiquette so go wild and be godly.

Assault gamemode

When we talk about assault we are referring to a lane with selected random gods, where any composition can arise, the gods who attack from a distance have an advantage over the melee, I recommend this game mode if you want to learn or discover new gods and know what they do in the battle of the gods. Below I will explain several important points to keep in mind.

Election phase

Not being able to choose the god, they give you an opportunity to do reroll and thus be able to choose another god that you like more, but you maybe get one that you like less. Likewise, if you lock a god later, it gives you the option to trade god with a teammate, as long as them accept the trade.

Early game

It depends on the character you have, you have to poke the enemy, try to make combos with different skills that you have in synergy team, you can also use a very useful relic that is only available in this game mode called Meditation, it provides you with a small area of healing regeneration and mana for you and your team.

You can take advantage of the central bushes to make a first ambush with your team, always being careful not to die without dealt any damage to the enemy team, but it is not always a good idea to do this.

Mid game

Take advantage of the team using the central buffs on the map, they regenerate in few minutes, they can give you orbs of boosts for a team member, a pyromant pump and even a fire giant dagger, this last boost can be decisive in a teamfight.

Use the heals that are located around the map between the tier 1 and tier 2 towers, although it is not a great heal or that much mana regeneration, they can be useful to continue holding off the enemy team.

Late game

Fight for the objectives, try to take advantage of every opportunity to destroy their towers. If you are a tank, don't hesitate to tank the objective to make way for your team to destroy it. Be the first to defeat the titan and you will achieve victory.

Items to keep in mind

Since you can't retreat to base, a Book of Thoth or a Transcendence is always a good option to maintain mana and continue using skills. You can also choose to buy a Divine Ruin or a Brawler's Ruin later on, in order to reduce the enemy's healing.

For gods who scale with intelligence:

For gods who scale with strength:

For tank gods and warriors:

These items are a very good choice for tanks and warriors, with Amanita Charm you can heal your team in a large area, it is almost a mandatory purchase with them.

The anti-healing item that tanks can buy would be the Ruinous Ankh, it creates an area of healing reduction around them and the Yogi's Necklace can also be a viable option since it can help you heal over time, thus surviving without being able to go to the base.

Personal Opinion

I highly recommend it as it is a calmer game mode without so much stress. You can have a lot of fun trying new gods or playing with characters you are not used to. For beginners it is very good game mode.
