There is two from Call of Duty, but i don´t remeber which COD it was....

Once you die in the game you get famous quote...everytime...

The History is written by the winner. Winston Churchill *1965

And there would be no war if the responsible people need to attend. Michael Johanni *1962

^^ I find the German Version but struggle to get the english one.

Beside that do you know the game "Apocalypse"?

Its Bruce Willis with quotes from Die Hard.

Yippee-ka-yay, motherfucker

In german it was translated to

Yippie-ya-yeah, Schweinebacke

Apocalypse!! You just unlocked a childhood memory of mine, I loved that game.

A classic here: My ancestors are smiling upon me, can you say the same?

God of Ragnarok is what pops into my head first. "Sometimes we cannot fix things, sometimes all we can do is not make it worse".

Honorable mentions from the most recent GOWs: "Don't be sorry. Be better." and "Boy!"

You are not prepared! - coined by Illidan Stormrage

I've used that phrase countless times in games and at work https://youtu.be/IBHL_-biMrQ?si=tSe4iZW90w_l4utz&t=152

"Nanomachines, son!"

Revengeance is far from my favourite game in the Metal Gear series, but the line uttered by the final boss never fails to make me laugh. It's a tongue-in-cheek way of telling the player to suspend disbelief and just stop asking questions, almost breaking the fourth wall. It encapsulates all deus ex machinas and lazy get-out-of-jail-free cards into just two words. There's a reason it achieved meme status.

I'm going to go with a couple of funny ones and then end with a poignant one from an underrated favourite of mine.

"Tell me Bats. What are you really scared of? Failing to save this cesspool of a city? Not finding the Commissioner in time? Me, in a thong?!" - Joker, Arkham Asylum

Does this need any justification? It's Mark Hamill saying "me in a thong?!"

"You can leave out the benzedrine. That stuff makes me too frisky" - Snake, MGS

This one is also the walk on sounds in my streams for one of my mods and it always makes me chuckle.

"Not all problems were puzzles to be solved"- From The Last Campfire

I always love a game that hits home a little emotional thought or reminder and this one was just perfect. The whole game is underrated in my opinion but it's littered with moments of helping others find their way to peace but then being greeted by some others where characters don't want or need your help and you just have to accept it and move on.

From Guild Wars 2:

"Ooooh, shiny!" Human character on finding something rare

"I could outrun a Centaur!" Human character on gaining swiftness

These two are classics if you play a human character long enough.

From Death Stranding:

"Everything Is True, Except for The Lies." Fragile

"I'm Fragile, But Not That Fragile." Fragile

"Most of life's basic functions fit rather easily into a 21-minute timeslot. Sleep is the tricky one and intercourse, I suppose." Heartman

The first is so simple, so true and yet... you wonder: what is true and what is a lie? The second because Fragile is... Fragile. The third because it makes you think; Heartman speaks so scientifically but, quoting him, "My body may be present but my soul is on the Beach. I'm already dead.", and yet, it makes you think about it. Does it all fit in a 21 minutes cycle?

Uh, there are so many good ones in FFXIV:

"For those we have lost, for those we can yet save" is a strong one, the motto of the Scions of the Seventh Dawn the group the player will end up joining in saving the world.

"A smile better suits a hero" is one a dear friend says to us before they die.

"If you need a push, I'll be there right behind you" it's a voice from the past we hear towards the end of the game.

And some more cheerful and funny ones:

"You let him leave without a proper dwarven decking!" - love this dwarf NPC telling us off for not beating up someone.

"I am not... interested, little sun. Try again when you have become a man" Y'shtola queen of sass turning down the chieftain of the tribe which claims they are descendants of the sun god.

This time round from another legend...Solid Snake - "A strong man doesn't need to read the future, he makes his own" Metal Gear Solid.

My little favourite quote is

"Do a Barrel Roll!" - Star Fox 64

Such a fun little game... so glad to see its name immortalized in the meme too!

I have so many favourite quotes from games for various reasons- whether it's the voiceactor's delivery, the association with a certain title, the humour, the context of the scene it's used in etc... so it was very difficult to choose just one but I think, if I had to then it would be...

"We don't get to choose how we start in this life. Real greatness is what you do with the hand you're dealt." - Victor Sullivan, Uncharted 3.

This quote is both inspirational and really highlights the themes of the third title in this series. I LOVE Uncharted and its cinematic storytelling, its well-written and performed characters, stunning setpieces and the genuine human feel to each adventure. The third game is very reflective of Nate's past, his personal relations with other characters, his morality and living up to the legacy of Sir Francis Drake. This quote from the final scene is very introspective and helps Nate make the decision of what to do next, both with his work and with his partner- Elena. It perfectly encompasses Sully's relationship as a mentor and father-like figure to Nate as well as emphasise not just the physical, but psychological journey they both went on throughout the game.

Arthur Morgan in Red Dead Redemption 2

“ you sir, are a fish.”

He’ll sometimes say this after catching a fish. The first time I had ever heard it I laughed my butt off it was so unexpected. Just silly little comments in video games like that make me love the games even more. Red Dead Redemption 2 is a masterpiece of a game
