The shifting galactic tides - November year 3310

It has been a dynamic year across the galaxy. The Second Thargoid War, the change between major factions inside our bubble, November marked another big change in between our galaxy.

1. The Second Thargoid War

We're winning back the systems from Cocijo - the last titan, at a very high pace. Almost 20 systems are reclaimed weekly. As I am making this report, only 4 systems left are under Thargoid's control, 3 by Cocijo, and 1 by Taranis.

This week also marked the destruction of the last Thargoid Spire Site, located in Col 285 Sector OS-T d3-143. With the last active Thargoid Spire Site already destroyed, there's likely no more risk of having invaded systems, unless they do a surprise attack like how they did in Shinrarta Dezhra. We're at a pivotal point of this war where we've gained the upper hand, victory is almost secured from now on if everything goes as is planned.

Cmdrs who still want to go for tactical core chips which can be obtained from killing Thargoid Revenant can still go to HIP 38235's Military settlements: Sasaki Military Expedition and Burn Landing. But be prepared as Thargoid Banshees are present in those ports, so it's not gonna be an easy run.

2. Powerplay

As a new powerplay system being online for almost one month, a lot of cmdrs finding themselves fighting for their pledge faction, either directly engage against oppose faction's force, or simply reinforce their faction's influence by trading, bounty hunting, settlement infiltration, or undermining oppose faction with flooding markets or commiting crimes. Though it's a whole bigger game loop which encourages cmdrs to engage more with powerplay as a whole and Odyssey's content partially, the new merits system still has its flaws and require constant tuning, which is currently happening, sometimes it's getting rid of exploit, sometimes its balancing gameplay. As it is as unstable as it gets, we have nothing to do but believe and hope for a more insightful changes from FDev. In fact, constantly changes mean there are constantly feedback from an increased number of players, both new and returning, and they are awere of it, so generally it's a good news.

As this week's report from GalNet, Population surveys suggest the following five powers lead the way in this early stage:

Rank 1: Edmund Mahon - 1355 systems

Rank 2: Aisling Duval - 1296 systems

Rank 3: Arissa Lavigny-Duval - 1162 systems

Rank 4: Yuri Grom - 956 systems

Rank 5: Pranav Antal - 659 systems

Personally I'm operating and docking my ship at a Mahon-Archer border, where unoccupied systems are being very active between players from both faction trying to claim them for their pledge

3. The upcoming colonisation system

In another note, cmdrs are looking toward to hear more about the new colonisation system, where cmdrs can colonise and build their own "bubble", many cmdrs are alredy venturing out of the bubble to peruse their future home. Is this a new dawn for humanity's expansion toward the galaxy? Will this beside bringing us glory and prospect, but also attracts new unwanted enemies? We can do nothing but being prepared and hope for the best.

That's what have been observed from my personal perspective so far in the last few weeks. Have any comments or correction you want to make? Feel free to comment below.

1. What events in the game happened and what is their significance? So, November saw the release of Powerplay 2.0, which brought changes to how players interact with galactic powers. The updates brought better rewards, such as exclusive modules and supply packs, as well as simplifying mechanics such as eliminating merit degradation and voting for expansion. This ultimately makes progress more accessible, and encourages greater player participation in strategic activities.

2. Has there been a climate battle? What happened and what are the consequences? Yes, the Stronghold Carriers have emerged as places of strategic interest, offering superior markets and economic advantages for the controlling powers. These locations have been the scene of intense confrontations, with players engaged in both defense and invasion. This underlines the importance of teamwork and tactical planning

3. What are the latest developments in Powerplay? Powerplay 2.0 has revamped interactions with factions, allowing players to contribute in various ways, such as combat, exploration and trade. New leaders have been introduced: Nakato Kaine in the Alliance and Jerome Archer in the Federation. In addition, players now have access to more consistent rewards and fewer penalties when switching factions

4. Has any important territory been conquered or lost? Galactic leaders Edmund Mahon and Aisling Duval continue to dominate the galaxy, controlling more than 1,200 systems each. Despite this, there are smaller movements of intermediate factions, showing a dynamic balance in territorial control

5. Which factions and powers have succeeded or failed? Those that succeeded were: Aisling Duval and Edmund Mahon remain at the top, consolidating their positions as the most influential powers. Those that were challenged were: Smaller factions, such as Archon Delaine, find it difficult to expand due to intense competition from more established leaders

6. Do you have a unique perspective on any interesting occurrences in the game? The redesign of the mechanics and the focus on a more accessible environment have turned Elite Dangerous into a more inclusive space for new players, and a much more strategic one for veterans. The addition of Stronghold Carriers and centralized rewards strengthens the idea of a constantly changing galaxy, where every decision can alter the balance of power

1. New Ships: Cobra Mk V and Type-8 Transporter

It's been a great month for technology! Faulcon DeLacy unveiled the Cobra Mk V, a small but very versatile craft that we've dubbed “the spiritual successor to the Cobra Mk III”. Lakon Spaceways launched the Type-8 Transporter, a great option for large-scale transportation operations.

I thought these were excellent promises for both traders and explorers, so we'll have more options to face the challenges of space!!!

2. Colonization Program - Building the Future

The galaxy is looking to the future with the launch of the colonization program. Pilots can now claim systems and build infrastructure from scratch, including space stations and cities. This process will have rules to ensure that each system is developed in a responsible and organized way, so we can avoid having unfinished or abandoned structures.

It will be a unique opportunity for commanders to leave their mark on the universe, as a way of shaping better worlds for future generations.

The Second Thargoid War

I believe that November has given us a good idea of the course of the war, as we see the Titan Cocijo begin its movements towards the Sol system, putting at risk the entire stability of the system and the millions of human lives at the heart of the Bubble. With this danger, we see many commanders equipping their ships with anti-xeno weapons and defensive resources.

Its arrival is scheduled for December, when we'll have more updates.

Politics

We continue to see strong political disputes between the factions, as Aurora Venatores has expanded its control to the 50th and 51st systems and Utopia, led by Pranav Antal, is advancing with its economic techniques, weakening the opposing systems. In Powerplay, the Alliance continues to lead the power rankings, with stability a major focus.

New Ships

We get to see Faulcon DeLacy present the Cobra Mk V, a great launch in terms of versatility. Nevertheless, we had Lakon Spaceways launching the Type-8 Transporter, a true colossus of cargo transportation, I don't know if we're ready to observe the impact of this ship on commerce haha.

Conclusion

I think it's been a very good month when we look at technology, we have two ships that have a strong impact for their intended purpose. However, as not everything is happy, we need to get together and see how the Titan Cocijo will impact our reality. We'll keep fighting, commanders!

Second Thargoid War - Unstable Tides

Just when the tides of war just looked favourable to humanity the Thargoids had an ace up their sleeve. The attack now looks worse that the one in Shinrarta Dezhra, even worse. Now we are not facing some vessels in the core systems but a Titan, yes a titan, they moved their last mothership to the heart of the Bubble!

The wars within the Bubble are heating up, and maybe this could be the worse time to that happen. How already have been said, the Second Thargoid War could be close to an end but the fight hasn't finished yet and we still need pilots to redirect their attention to the Sol system and save the most people possible.

New Ships - The great sucessor of the Cobra Mk III

Maybe the best small ship, the Cobra Mk V had their specs announced Faulcon DeLacy, and this small vessel is a monster, the many optional slots that it has make it looks like a medium vessel. Even with a class 5 slot in it. The FAucon DeLacy after the disastrous launch of the Cobra Mk IV redeemed themselves with maybe the best multipurpose small ship in the galaxy! Talking about ships, the test flights of the Type-8 from Lakon has ended and now the ship is available to everyone with ne needed amount of credits to buy one!

Colonisation - The first details of the program

We already had the details of the great colonisation program, and it is interesting. Now the pilots we have the possibility to be the architects of a system, control the economy, build ports, stations, settlement and cities. But thinks about a fair competition between the pilots that are interesting in investing in the colonisation program some rules were created. Anyone can claim a system, but only one at a time, and after claimed there will have other rules.

Once a pilot have claimed a system they have a time to plant a beacon in that system, after that they will have to prepare a mega ship, a brand new one prepared to this program, and take the necessary material to start the first port in the system, after that they will give resources to finish the first station. After that finished they will be able to create more buildings or stations. But everything will have an amount of time necessary to be made, or it will be reset, juts to avoid a mess with unfinished builds in the galaxy.

November Shifting Galactic Tides :

November was a month full of changes that came to Elite Dangerous Universe, like the first month of Power play 2.0 which was great upgrade to the last system. and most Cmdrs loved the addition and are fully invested in it, but what came in the last week was more important and that's what we will discuss in this month Shifting Galactic Tides.

Cocijo Last move :

in the 28'th of Nov 3310 and with out any warning, the Thargoid Titan Cocijo has unexpectedly left the Col 285 Sector BA-P c6-18 system. The titan activated his mobility once again and as he came 2 years ago, the massive metallic and organic structure started moving as fast as ship equipped with Frame Shift Drive (SCO), Cmdrs started racing with it as soon as the news dropped, but more importantly the Anti Xeno-initiative and all the AX humans has gathered to start evacuating the Titan target system : SOL

Yes Professor Alba Tesreau has said 3 days prior to this development : " We have seen repeatedly that the Thargoid fleets are capable of surprising us when their defeat seems inevitable. ... ", this last have seen major victories that the humans have earned through massive battles and destroying mega alien ships the last one Titan Raijin.

The Last calculations says that Cocijo Titan will arrive 3D from now the 1 Dec 3310, from assistin evacuation efforts and sell tissu to complete missions all the defensive window ends in 3days, all cmdrs are called to participate in this effort to protect our home origin Earth and the system SOL

Any thing can happen from now on, speculation says that more surprises will come in this final attack, now time will tell

The news you never knew you wanted... or needed.

THEY ARE COMING

30 Nov 3310

Since Raijin’s defeat last month, expectations have risen for the end of the Thargoid war. However, this optimism may have blinded us to the looming danger. In our eagerness to eradicate these insectoids, we allowed them to make a decisive move against us. Now, the last titan, Cocijo, is heading toward Earth - our home, where humanity first thrived and rose to become an interstellar civilization. Once, we were haunted by the specter of simple climate changes, challenges we could envision overcoming with terraformation. But now, our home faces its gravest peril.

This Thargoid offensive might seem like the desperate act of a dying species. But make no mistake - this is an ultimatum.

Do we erase from history the voices that once sought peace? (as highlighted in these 3308 Galnet articles: Peace with the Thargoids?, Xeno-Peace Project Gathers Support, and Federation Bans the Far God Cult)

Or do we risk annihilation by refusing to end this "genocide"?

Perhaps we will soon meet the Guardians - not through a Skynet-like uprising, but through the Thargoids themselves.

Rise up, humanity. Every child, woman, and man must prepare to defend our home against the greatest threat we've ever faced. Rise up, commanders, as our frontline and last line of defense. Send these insects back to where they belong: the void of inexistence.

Humanity's Comeback: The Commander's Surge

30 Nov 3310

Amid the terrifying Thargoid threat, there is hope. Galactic activity has surged by 70% in the last month (source), echoing the discovery of anomalies leading to the core systems and the response to the coming of Taranis. The tragic vanishing of the Kingfisher megaship, perhaps humanity's most ambitious and naive attempt at peace, feels eerily mirrored exactly two years later.

This resurgence in activity appears driven by rapid technological advancements, including new ship designs, the groundbreaking SCO FSD invention, and reduced module costs, which have made cutting-edge gear more accessible to commanders.

In the past month, over 2,000 additional commanders have taken to the cockpit, a blend of returning veterans and eager new recruits. This surge not only strengthens our fight against the Thargoids but also marks one of the most significant leaps in human progress since the advent of Faster-Than-Light travel

Powerplay: Popular Politics or Dangerous Game?

27 Nov 3310

As the war rages, a shift in political dynamics has emerged, heralded by Galnet as a "new dawn for humanity". Powerplay has undergone a transformation, decentralizing its modus operandi and bringing supporters to the forefront of influence. With new incentives - exclusive modules, greater profits, and specialized fleet carriers - engagement in Powerplay is more accessible than ever. Furthermore, the promise of a DIY colonization system has captured the imagination of commanders, offering the dream of claiming their own piece of the galaxy - even if it remains tied to a Power.

Yet, this raises critical questions: Who will fund and sustain this expansion? Shouldn’t we focus on addressing humanity’s immediate crises?

Mahon, Duval(s), Grom, Antal - and you, reader - ponder this: Why can we explore black holes and celestial wonders, yet fail to resolve the age-old scourges of violence and poverty?

CMDR XCezor Monthly Log - November 30, 3310

Another month is about to end. At the end of previous month, galactic powers decided to change the way of expanding their influence and turned the whole system by 180 degree. Edmund Mahon, as well as the Alliance, are currently at the top of power ranking and new ship, Type-8 Transporter is now able for every Commander in exchange of some credits.

But that's only one of the big news. When I was taking pictures of the moons in Sol system, I've decided to stay there for a while. To my surprise, 1 day later I've got a message from the local security vessel about incoming Thargoid threat. I've checked Galnet News and o boi... the last remaining Titan, Cocijo, decided to change its position and began its journey towards Sol.

I've quickly swapped my ship to Imperial Cutter, equipped with anti-xeno weapons and more importantly, anti-titan. The Cocijo will arrive in about 1 week. Probably this whole war will end in December, before Christmas. But let's hope that this maneuver isn't part of some greater plan against our home system.

And from the local news, our faction Aurora Venatores expanded to its 50th and 51st systems which is a great achievement for us.

Commander MQC’s Log Date: November 29, 3310

In the last few months something has been growing within us, the Commanders, brothers and sisters, who are trying to defend freedom in our Home with our faction ‘New Chamo Free’. The news about a society that respects the basic idea of sharing to grow in equality for all, evolution and study as the basis of that growth. Continuously, in one way or another, a rumour, a piece of news, a Commander who comes from far away with experiences of events that you think are distant, but that are closer than you think, and that immediately make a place in your soul and spirit...

We have been discussing it, and we have taken the step; we have joined Utopia, we have joined Pranav Antal and his shared dream of making a truly better tomorrow.

During these last two weeks we have been actively making efforts to improve our position in our beloved Chamo system, and we have been assisting other fellow Powers in their efforts to spread the word and expand Utopia. For the most part, those who listen to us unhesitatingly support our discourse, but as a general rule such behaviour gets them into trouble with the dominant powers and factions in their systems. And yes, sometimes in order to do something fair in the future, you have to do things that are not so fair in the present. A group of our traders have flooded several markets of stations dominated by anti-Utopia forces with thousands of units of scrap, low-quality clothing and minor goods... which has led to a collapse of the stock of those markets, and serious problems for the leaders of those systems. Surely doing these things may not be the most honourable thing in the world, but it is a peaceful way to create the commercial chaos that precedes the uprising and social change we seek.

People must decide, and if they want to believe in Utopia, we must help them make that decision freely.

We didn't have any major events this month, but there were some important discussions and some interesting topics to report on:

1- Political Scenario: The second Thargoid war has had an impact on every decision made by humanity. As a result, each political group has made its own decisions regarding the war. The Federation is going through a challenging transition, where President Winters and Jeremy Archer have shown themselves to be two opposites in this dispute. The Empire has seen Arissa's popularity gain and some senators are key players in the Empire's war decisions, such as Senator Denton Patreus (military leader). The alliance, on the other hand, has Prime Minister Mahon under pressure for joining the Sirius Corporation during the invasion, increasing the popularity of opponent Councillor Nakato Kaine. The post-invasion era presents opportunities and conflicts as factions and leaders reposition for the future.

2- Power of Influence: This month we also had an update on Powerplay influence, based on the number of systems in their control: At the moment we have Edmund Mahon (Alliance) leading with 1,355 systems, Aisling Duval (Empire) following with 1,296 systems and Arissa Lavigny-Duval (Empire) holds third with 1,162 systems. The competition is fierce, and we see a lot of Empire influence in the universe, looking forward to the news!

3- Aegis alert: Professor Alba Tesreau, head of Aegis, has issued a high alert warning for the anti-xeno (AX) fleets as humanity moves closer to victory over the Thargoid invasion, with a focus on the final Titan, Cocijo. Tesreau warned against complacency, citing past incidents such as the catastrophic counterattack on HIP 22460 during the Proteus Wave event, which resulted in heavy losses. Some key pieces are the connection the Thargoids had with Seo Jin-ae, which activated a warning signal in all of us, and esreau emphasized the Thargoids' ability to strike unexpectedly, referencing the invasion of Shinrarta Dezhra as proof of their continued reach.

4- Cocijo is mooving: The latest Thargoid Titan, Cocijo, has unexpectedly left its previous location and is now moving at high speed deeper into the core systems of human space. Confirmed by Aegis, Cocijo is moving at full speed into high-profile systems such as Sol, so measures are being taken to evacuate this location. In addition, the Federation, Alliance and Empire are ready and positioning themselves to defend against the possible attack! The situation remains critical as Cocijo's trajectory suggests an unprecedented escalation in the Thargoid conflict.

Hello Commanders

Here is a summary of the main events that took place this month of November.

First we had the new game system about superpowers, thus introducing the 12 superpowers of the game.

https://twitter.com/USCSS141477/status/1855066678364643832

Then on November 20, 3310 Conrad Sterling of Vox Galactica has provided an analysis of the current support for key figures of importance based on system allegiance.

Rank 1: Edmund Mahon - 1355 systems

Rank 2: Aisling Duval - 1296 systems

Rank 3: Arissa Lavigny-Duval - 1162 systems

Rank 4: Yuri Grom - 956 systems

Rank 5: Pranav Antal - 659 systems

Then, regarding the Thargoid war, and due to surprise attacks by Thargoids, the Aegis corporation always remained alert to Thargoid movements and urged all commanders to be alert as well.

And soon the unexpected happened.

Today, November 28, 3310, the last Titan Cocijo, has unexpectedly left the system “col 285 Sector BA-P c6-18” directing its forces to the “Sol” system and perhaps to other central systems.
