Danzaburou, one of the cutest gods in Smite and Smite 2, and the best part is that he multiplies, the cuteness is almost endless!! But yes, those clones is his passive, the Dishonest Duplication, and while he is attacking he has a chance of creating clones that will help you to deal more damage to your target.

But after that will have of course your actives skills, the first one is the Fool's gold, is just an attack that will make three balls of coins bag in specific angles, remember that it will pass through minions and will stop when hits the end of attack range or an enemy god, after that the bag will explode dealing more damage and drops coins that can be picked by you or your allies! This even can help you at the begging of the game, just try to be careful to not make you a trap and going to get coins and get killed by the enemy!

The second skill is the Alluring Spirits, is an skill that heals you and damage the enemy in this order. You will drink the sake and throw the bottle after that, if you hits the enemy will deal some damage and make him slower, and if he takes to much time to get out of the bottle range he will get taunted. It not a hard skill to master, just practice a little you aiming and timing with it!

The Tanuki Trickery, you third skill has two options how it can be used, it can make you flee from the enemy or help you to attack them. This skill will create a area where it will buff you speed and double the chance of creating clones, that means more damage, but if you get out from this area it will desapear and you will transform into a leaf with other around you making the same movement as you, making hard to the enemy finds which one is you! But take care to not become a leaf by mistake, learn to move in this area wisely

Finally your ultra, the Uproarious Rocket, you will become a big rocket and goes towards the enemy, when a god get hits he will get stunned and an explosion will occur making damaging in near gods and enemy minions! But if you doesn't want to go to enemy area you can separe yourself from the rocket and let it goes alone. Remember that will only control the rocket direction when you are it, once you get out out throws it by itself it will only go to the auto aim direction!

For a tip for the build for the top lane, I prefer to get at least some penetration to face some tanks supports there, the Titan's Bane is a good call and normally I following this already made build, has been working so well for me:

Some times I change the Devourer's Gauntlet for another penetration item like but I prefer to make this decision during the play watching my performance, some time a lifesteal is very useful!

For those who like Japanese mythology, Danzaburou is the Japanese god of mischief and fun. I really like it when a god's kit manages to convey what he represents in his culture, here is a good example of this, we have a god focused on mobility and who can deceive his opponents, talking directly to his lore.

Skills:

Passive - Dishonest Duplication: When you make auto-attacks, you have a chance to generate a clone that will continue attacking the target

Skill 1 - Fool's Gold: You'll throw 3 bags of money that will land on the first targets hit and explode. After the explosion, they will leave coins on the spot that provide gold for you and your allies. This skill deals more damage with consecutive hits.

Skill 2 - Alluring Spirits: Shoot a bottle of sake that slows you down and taunts you if the enemy stays on top. As you take a sip before throwing, this skill also heals you haha.

Skill 3 - Tanuki Trickery: Creates a bamboo grove around you, increasing your movement speed and giving you immunity to slowness. When you leave this area, you turn into a leaf with clones around you, ideal for tricking your opponents.

Ultimate - Uproarious Rocket: Here you can choose to throw a rocket towards your opponent or become the rocket and go to the opponent, remembering that in rocket form you are invulnerable.

Gameplay:

At first, he was designed to be a sniper, but he can also fill other roles, such as mid-range.

Exploit your clones and your second skill to confuse your opponents.

Take advantage of your high mobility to help with routes.

Danzaburou has a playful personality and skills that I find very creative in the game. He's a hunter who deals damage and disorients enemies with his tricks and clones. But don't be fooled by his carefree demeanor, for those who know how to play with him, he can be a deadly threat.

Skills:

  • Passive (Tanuki Trickery): when using the skills, clones are created, which act as a distraction for enemies and are very useful for escaping or confusing them.

  • Skill 1 (Fool's Gold): Danzaburou throws explosive coins in a straight line. Very good to use to clean up and deal damage to grouped enemies. The coins also deal additional area damage.

  • Skill 2 (Alluring Spirits): Throws a barrel of sake that explodes on impact or after a certain amount of time. This slows down enemies when they are hit, very good for following up this skill with additional damage.

  • Skill 3 (Leaf Surf): Danzaburou rides a giant leaf and surfs for some distance. Very useful for escaping or repositioning.

  • Ultimate (Uproarious Rocket): Excellent for starting a fight or finishing off vulnerable enemies. He enters a rocket that explodes on impact and deals massive damage.

Regarding the build, I recommend a few items:

Core items: Transcendence (more mana and more ability power for sustain and damage); Crusher (increase burst and abilities); Wind Demon (optimizes passive and increases attack speed and critical hit).

You can also use some situational items, such as Toxic Blade (reduces the enemy's healing) and Heartseeker (useful for blowing up enemies with high health).

In terms of strengths: Danzaburou has excellent burst damage, good mobility and escape tools, as well as clones that make life difficult for the enemy. Weaknesses: vulnerable to crowd control; relies on skills to maintain consistent damage; needs good aim with the ultimate; low life reserve.

With Danzaburou, you can have a fun match, especially for those who like to trick their enemies. I recommend taking advantage of the clones to trick your opponents, know the right moment to use the ultimate and know how to position yourself!

Danzaburou Guide - The Basics

So, you want to play as Danzaburou, huh? Well, the first thing you need to know is that this is a god full of complex mechanics that can leave you confused - especially since his passive is essentially a roll of the dice.

With his passive, every time you hit an enemy with a basic attack, you have a 5% chance (+0.5% per level +0.5% per Intelligence) to spawn a clone. This clone attacks the nearest opponent, dealing 40% of your base damage, and has its own 5% (+0.25% per level) chance to spawn another clone. This makes it an interesting mechanic to use with a hybrid Strength and Intelligence build, though in my opinion, it works best with attack speed. Statistically speaking, while the chance is low, it becomes more likely the more you test it.

His 1st ability (Fool's Gold) is versatile—it can be used for zoning or dealing tons of area damage. It also inflicts Trembling, disorienting enemies hit while dropping 10 gold with every hit (which literally falls to the ground).

Alluring Spirits, his 2nd ability, is another multi-purpose tool. It heals you for 5% of your Intelligence and then throws a bottle that deals significant damage and slows enemy gods. If they fail to leave the bottle's area of effect, they also receive a Taunt.

His 3rd ability, Tanuki Trickery, is one of the most fitting for Danzaburou, the god of deception and tricks. It creates a field that grants movement speed buffs, slow immunity, and doubles the chances of his passive. If you leave the area, you turn into a leaf, sending clones in different directions. This makes it excellent for escaping or repositioning when used strategically.

His ultimate, Uproarious Rocket, is a high-damage ability (100% Strength + 70% Intelligence) that can be used in two ways: you can either launch a rocket that automatically targets a nearby enemy god, or re-activate it to become the rocket yourself, enabling rapid direction changes

As I mentioned, his abilities are complex and require good coordination, as his cooldowns are relatively high and his mechanics demand precision. As always, practice makes perfect!

Build Recommendations:

Due to Danzaburou's versatility, he can be played in Mid or Jungle, but he truly shines as an ADC, where a Strength and Attack Speed build can better scale with his abilities and passive.

To avoid being constantly caught off-guard, Purification Beads are a great pick for survival. However, you can choose Blink Rune if you're feeling daring.

Start with Hunter’s Cowl for Strength and Attack Speed, plus a passive that increases movement speed when alone or adds more attack speed near an ally - a great item considering ADCs' squishiness.

Devourer's Gauntlet as your second item can help you farm and sustain in-lane, which is essential for stacking. Alternatively, Jotunn's Revenge is a good choice only if you can secure some early kills.

Follow up with The Executioner and Demon Blade for more Attack Speed, Strength, Critical Chance, and Penetration, making you deadly against tanks and squishy gods alike. Then, Titan’s Bane offers massive Strength and Penetration but lacks a passive, so it can be swapped for The Crusher if you feel the game is difficult and you might be easily caught, as this item increases the damage of your abilities and allows you to remain useful from a safer distance while still providing considerable stats.

Finish with Deathbringer for devastating critical hits, or go for Bragi's Harp to synergize better with your passive and clone mechanics - for its intelligence. If you need raw damage output, Qin’s Blade works well, while Dagger of Frenzy can amplify your teamfighting potential, as its active synergizes beautifully with Danzaburou’s kit.

Ability Leveling:

Focus on maxing your '1' (Fool’s Gold), as its damage scales exponentially. Prioritize your '2'(Alluring Spirits) if the enemy team is tanky (to keep them at bay), or your '3' (Tanuki Trickery) if you’re constantly under threat (for better escapes and repositioning).

Final Tips:

The key to mastering Danzaburou is playing smart - combining and alternating basic attacks with abilities, staying calm, and taking advantage of his escape tools. Proper positioning help you to avoid sticky situations while maximizing your damage.

Due to his complexity, starting in Jungle might be easier, as it allows for more flexibility in both builds and playstyle. Once you get the timing of his abilities down, you'll be ready to dominate the ADC lane.

Now, go out there and cause some Tanuki-style chaos!
