This Christmas, my 5-year-old son received a chess set as a gift and just learned the game. While brainstorming this reward, he came up with the idea to recreate chess using café decor elements - so we did! And of course, we had to play a match right after.

After an hour, we ended up in this position, with my son playing White. He attempted a Scheveningen setup but misplayed the opening slightly, allowing me to gain central control. I have to admit, the game turned out to be pretty intense! And hilariously, since we used chairs as pawns, visitors kept randomly sitting on them—adding a whole new level of challenge! 😆♟️

Amazing. Love it. Was it weird adjusting to the diagonal tiles? I can see how it would still work pretty directly, but ... feels like it'd be weird to me 🥴

The hardest part was actually moving things, 'cause the tiles shifted in half-steps, but it was manageable. It's awesome for spatial brain training

For the café's decor, I chose my favorite color: red. In the spacious main hall, I set up rustic wooden picnic-style tables and added vibrant sunflowers in vases for a lively touch. Upstairs, I carefully designed a playful area for children and cats, complete with a small table and soft cushions, plus a nearby sofa where guardians can keep an eye on everything. By the cozy fireplace, I created a warm and inviting reading nook.

A simple natural decoration, but this cafe design have a different meaning for me.

4 years ago, I drew my original character named Miyuki, who dreamed of having a small cafe. so, I made my character based on my original character and designed the cafe with a nature theme. It's the best choice because Miyuki loves nature.

I tend to lean towards dark colors - that goes for my choice of clothing to home decor. No, it is not gothic.. I just find it relaxing overall. I chose the decor that you see to represent that part of my personality. The furniture that is shown are my most favorite pieces in the game. Fireplaces are right up there as well. There is plenty of space that I have left to give a sense of travel freedom between seating areas. It also allows me to serve my customers with ease. Plenty of bookshelves for book worms - I love books. Can you tell? It's cozy time!

Excellent café - cosy and characterful, yet practical. Wish something like this existed near me!

For my evolving cafe, I chose a sober decor with gray and light blue colors. Light blue to recall the modern and gray for sobriety. For the floor I chose a brick that gives a sense of warmth and I placed the tables with chairs right near the counter so as to quickly reach the customers. On the right side I placed a sofa with some poufs for those who want to have a comfortable and relaxing environment. Behind the tables and to the right of the sofa I placed some bookcases so as to give customers the possibility (theoretical obviously since it is not possible) to read while drinking a coffee. Going up the steps I am setting up the part dedicated to the critters and I intend to put some poufs. On the walls I placed curtains and paintings to give a sense of family

I’m a “millennial grey” type of gal - almost allergic to color in interiors. Cool and light, that’s my vibe. But in Critter Café, I decided to step just an inch out of my comfort zone by adding a touch of purple from the wallpaper.

From the moment I saw that cloud-textured design, I was hooked:clouds, air, lightness...it’s pure Cloud Nine energy. 8D

The greenish corner on the deck with the bookshelves? That’s my way of grounding the space, adding just enough life to balance out the cool, airy feel of the café. Plus, books and greenery bring in that fey library aesthetic I absolutely adore.

This is a cute cafe i made.
I really like purple with white, and with touch of wood brown, it may calm everyone's eye.

For the area, i made it with 3 section.
First area near the entrance, i want everyone who want to hangout with their friends sit there. a big space for Critters to play around, so they able to interact with the critters.

Second area is Critter play area, nothing much to say about this place, but they able to play there anytime they want.

The third area is my favorite.
The place for everyone with the hobby, like gaming or reading books.
They can play their own mobile phone or even the arcade there.

For book readers, they can enjoy read their books while enjoying their coffee.

Welcome to Midnight Cafe! A modern upscale up and coming hotspot in Gold Leaf Isle! At the entrance you are greeted with Neon fixtures and fresh roses. The seating arrangements is a bar style setup where patrons can mingle, also there are gaming tables to cater to eager patrons (wink wink). On the upper deck is a more chill and classy area with a cozy fireplace and elegant sofas where patrons can relax after extensive gaming and also a small pet area, sort of a pet hotel for in house as well as guest critters. We hope to see you soon!

I recorded a video tour, but something horrible was happening with my mic audio :/

Anyway, here's the Gothic Grind Cafe! As you can see we've got our tables and stools in red/black colorways arranged in a pentacle, dark hardwood flooring, a large group table by the window to play Call of Cthulhu or simply gaze into the haze of dusk and contemplate the nature of man and beast.

On our raised level, we've got House of the Dead 1 through 3 arcade machines, a lovely goth play area for the cafe's critters, and a reading nook accompanied by bookshelves stocked with the complete works of H.P. Lovecraft, Edgar Allen Poe, Algernon Blackwood, M.R. James, and many more.

Red salt lamps on the walls bring a lovely contrast to the dark wallpaper and flooring.

Finally, for to-go orders, we've got a little couch by the door for you to wait!

Because I really like the color light blue, so I followed the decorations according to the color that I really like. And also I prefer cafes that are simple but visible (especially if the cafe has just opened haha).

So, for me when I go to a cafe, I like to feel comfortable and what I have always disliked is a random mix of furniture and colours.

So for my critter cafe, I decided to go with a 90's vibe, a nicely decorated cafe that boasted a lot of space to move around in but kept the colour mixed with pink cushions and a very classy and classic feel to it, so I went with the red theme although I think this is actually maroon?

So, this is my cafe, I use pink color that also matches my clothes to make it look softer and cuter. I arrange the table like that to make it easier to deliver orders. I don't forget to make an area for critters to play while in the cafe. And also I decorate the walls so it doesn't look empty.

I recreated the cafe using my colors. First of all I made the floor all wood, and this already allows to make the environment warm. Then I recreated the colors of nature, white background for the curtains and then the colors of the outside for the armchairs and sofas. In the part where the counter is I preferred to create comfortable colored seats with a rug under each part. Instead in the part on the left, only a relaxation and reading corner with desks, poufs, accessories for the animals and sofas galore.

Here is a tour of my cafe. My favourite colour is pink, and I feel like brown is such an underrated colour, but it compliments pink so well! I really wanted to have contrast with my cafe so ideally the areas with pink flooring would have brown objects and vice versa, because there was already brown wood on the upper deck of the cafe I thought the best thing to do was to compliment that. Even the wallpaper used is a nod to where and how you would traditionally see the colour brown.

I actually love this - bold yet not overwhelming, and really thoughtfully put together. Kudos!

Thank you! I’m still working on it!

So this is my cafe in the game, for my cafe this takes the theme of a warm house in winter by using red bricks and all-white and gray decorations to strengthen the impression of snow.

My cafe is divided into 2 parts where 1 part is focused on tables for 2 people to chat one-on-one, and the other part is for a large gathering place.

For the decoration, I made it minimalist to make it look more neat.

Here is my humble little Café. I was going for a relaxed foresty cabin theme, where you can come for a relaxing cup of tea or lunch while reading your favorite book. In the bottom left corner I made a playtime area for the Critters and the guests. Right next to a cozy sofa corner with books and comfy chairs. The dining area on the right is for guests who are a bit more hungry and want to order a larger meal.

Black was the chosen color, the dark decor creates an elegant yet inviting atmosphere. In the main hall, two specially designed photo areas provide the perfect backdrop for capturing special moments. For those seeking a quick experience, the counter with bar stools offers convenience without compromising flavor. Tables range from intimate options for couples to a larger one for groups, while a dedicated kids’ corner includes play areas with nearby seating for parents.

Upstairs, critter and cat lovers will find a themed space. Near the fireplace, a cozy heated area hosts the book club, ideal for chilly days, while individual armchairs offer solitude paired with excellent coffee. Every detail was carefully planned to deliver unique experiences tailored to different moments and preferences.
