they're done with chalk - the cobra above is drawn in the Dark Wheel video below (but I think that's not enterable as I didn't write the Dark Wheel.)

The triptych is actually three different methods - felt pen and paint and chalk. there's a video of me doing that on my youtube here -

This video below is fun and more arty too, but not about the 40 years. I do a timelapse video of most of my pictures so they'll all be there somewhere in my channel.

So for this bounty I decided to recreated the original art of the original game, Elite (1984), and I got a little exited in the process and I made a little more than just the art!

I have remade the entire box with all the bonus that came along the game, the poster and all the booklets even the DVD (in that time was diskette)

Now here some screenshots from the creation process.

Awesome, I love it... I think it's a wonderful idea and magnificently put into practice. Congratulations.

That's amazing! I hope the company makes a physical edition like this one day!

I created this image by doing a screen shot of the original Elite sidewinder and planet and superimposed them over a sidewinder and planet from Elite Dangerous. I lightened the ED sidewinder so you can see the colouring and used a slight blur for the original images so it didn't look quite as dotty. The first Elite game on the Commodore 64 was what inspired me to get Elite Dangerous and the sidewinder shape is just iconic. It's what I remember from the loading screen and the artwork on the box.

All my experience with the Elite series is from Elite Dangerous so I hope I did the older graphics justice.

The fixed idea was to make a boring T-shirt with smart Elite designs look way better than before.

The designs were quickly found!

The design for the front was quickly finished and off we went!

Only the programming for the back was a cramp and caused problems later on.

Knots formed in the countless single stitches, which led to problems with the embroidery and the machine itself.

The result is still very nice, even if the back is not finished yet, I hope I will find enough time to finish the project in the next few days.

Thanks if you read this to the end and fly safe.

In celebration of Elite's 40th anniversary, I went on a journey across several planets in order to look for 100% atmospheres, this is one of the beauties that Elite Dangerous can provide us today, it was a journey passing through 13 planets, some close others far away. In the photo I put the best photos, 9 of them that represent in order: Methane, Nitrogen, Ammonia, Sulfur Dioxide, Neon, Argon, Water, Carbon Dioxide and Helium.

As I passed them, I made brief documentation to record what happened:

I appreciate this game being so kind to the community!
