"Around the World" by Daft Punk

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K0HSD_i2DvA Why? there are 144 reasons why I like this song for the karaoke session!

This song is simply awesome because no matter how wasted you are, everyone sings along and everyone loves it, young and old, we all know the song!

Plus it reminds me of college parties at peoples houses.

the GOAT and absolute classic. The one that every busker has in their arsenal and that will get people singing in unison.

Color me surprised when even the little white pup K.K drops it when I was visiting Brewsters for the evening

Regardless of the crowd, time of night, or drink count, I will always slay this one right here.

Down with the Sickness - Richard Cheese

I don’t have a huge range, but the lounge lizard crooner is square in the center of it, so a good mix of execution and humor will always bring the house down!

I've been karaoke-ing around the country a lot since my friends and I love a good sing-a-long. Throughout that time I've come up with a set of guides to follow (especially if you're doing public karaoke):

  • No Queen. Sorry guys, Freddie's got this one and he sadly took it to the grave

  • Unless you're in a private booth, no sappy love songs or sad songs that will bring down the mood

  • Ya gotta own it. even if you're out of time or off-key - have some fun with the song

With that said, the song I love to sing and to get the crowd going is: Sweet Caroline - Neil Diamond

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4F_RCWVoL4s

It's not too long, great energy, a lot of variety in the vocals, nil extended guitar or instrumental solo, and everyone gets the chorus after hearing it twice

Sweet Caroline gets a lot of hate for being overplayed these days, but it really does get a crowd going. It's better than hearing Mr Brightside for the seven thousandth time!

Tenacious D - Tribute

It takes a few drinks for this one to come out, but when it does you better believe I'm doing all the weird voices and snorts!

This might be the most annoyed I've ever been that I cannot submit to a bounty 😂

Teenage dirtbag!!!

I'm not the best singer so this is a song I can actually mostly hit the notes to.. also i like doing the bit at the end in a ridiculously high-pitched voice heheh

That's just Noelle's totally natural voice...don't know what you are talking about

I think about this more than I should given the fact that I'm rarely ever needed to sing Karaoke but the answer is:

I believe in a thing called love - Darkness

and the reason is because I can hit those high notes and it's a straight up banger!

Not being the strongest singer. ITs more about having fun ! and this is the perfect song . Epic rock, singing all the parts. And basically having a laugh without people judging you for trying to sing something difficult.

(edit. just seen its also someone elses favourite... must be the right choice then)

gotta be Mr Brightside! It truly is an anthem in the UK and you can bet that everyone knows the words. Just a fun song, cool vibe that has become timeless!

Hard to find a karaoke that has it but this one always gets a laugh...even if only at listening to a Scotsman trying to do a deep south redneck accent.

Scott Doesn't Know by Lustra

Made famous by Matt Damon in the movie Eurotrip and it's just so catchy. Not really one you'd want to sing in front of your elderly grandmother but it would resonate with a certain age demographic well and wouldn't be too challenging for the musically impaired to sing/join in with!

It always seems to be ‘Fat Bottomed Girls’ - Queen or ‘Total eclipse of the Heart’ - Bonnie Tyler. One is great fun and one is perfect for belting 🙌

I don't do karaoke very often, but when people manage to convince me, I always ask for this one:

It easily puts me in the mood of singing more songs and imagine that I'm a rockstar :D

MR BRIGHTSIDE

I grew up when this song was release in the early 2000's and it is an absolute banger, no matter where you are or who you are, everyone knows the words to this song and it is absolutely an upbeat energy boosting song!

Emilia's avatar

Has to be 'Don't wanna miss a thing' by Aerosmith. You can just BELT that song. Works particularly well if you've just been heartbroken lol. Starts slowly and then builds up to the strong chorus which is always good for Karaoke. hehe @stella will understand

All Summer long by Kid Rock would have to be my go to. I mean, if you know this song, you’ve had to sing along with it every time. It’s honestly such a vibe to karaoke with friends lol

Blink 182 - what's my name again.

I sang this once drunk in Magaluf.
