Credit to Sturmer for this suggesting this bounty idea! 🙌

Plus some credit to Ben Rush whose superior 'idea rattling around my head like an old Coke can in the back of a pickup truck' line inspired the bounty description.

A Noctis specific module, "Medium Tractor Unit" that when activated, acts much like a mobile tractor unit, pulling all wrecks within range and auto-looting (if there is available cargo space), basically turning the Noctis into a piloted MTU. Lets the pilot focus on salvaging and gives the Noctis a bit more reason to exist in a less annoying way. A Tech II version could have additional tractor beams, and scripts could be used to define whether the nearest wrecks are pulled first, or furthest wrecks first.

This would encourage people to add a Noctis to their ratting setup. Currently, people can just use a Mobile Tractor Unit and salvage drones with the downside that the MTU can be destroyed by other players. Using a Noctis with the added Medium Tractor Unit module would encourage players to make use of the Noctis' inherent salvaging/tractor bonuses, possibly teaming up or using dedicated salvage alts. They would swap the risk of losing a measly MTU for having to dedicate a ship to the task, worth significantly more than an MTU.

But I like shooting MTU's.

At some point I think someone from CCP will tell me to shut up since I think I've been harping about this for over a year now:

ACL access to corp hangers

There are so many cases where a CEO would want to share access to a specific hanger with someone outside of a corporation.

  1. Open communities. Every FC who wants access to handouts or other group assets (incursion ships for Eve Rookies, BLOPs for Bombers Bar, etc) has to have an alt in the corporation for hanger access.

I now have several individuals who absolutely refuse to get a 2nd account. So maybe they have a spare character, but they have to log off to grab the stuff and get added back to the fleet. Or they do have a 2nd account but account #2 isn't omega... so same problem.

  1. Industry Corps. Again, need a character in corp to get to the hangers even though the character that needs the items may be in another corp.

  2. Alliances and coalitions who are sharing pvp handouts...

I'm sure I'll be risking being thrown into the volcano for the amount of times I bring this up at the CSM summit.. ;-D

Oh, for sure, eh! Picture this, eh? Wranglin' 30+ toons all over the place, like, different sections of your organization, and others, ya know? Constantly doin' trades, tossin' contracts to character X 'cause of hauling skills, then slingin' Y character over there to sell/buy...

Now, if you're in a leadership spot, all that unproductive asset juggling really saps your energy, eh? Sometimes, it's so much that you end up not playin' the game for the rest of the evening, which is a total bummer.

Let's cut down on the Eve Job and get more playtime for the content creators, eh! Sounds like a plan, doesn't it?

greybill's avatar

Oh yes please! I have 4 characters that are each in a different corporation for good reason. Being able to add them to an ACL and share a hanger with them would be a gigantic QoL improvement.

I'd like to suggest something that everyone needs but it's so hard to develop without help that nobody cares anymore about it.

We need an official pyfa, outside of EVE. So that we can log in with our accounts and use their skills and implants to create and share fittings. Just as simple as it, an official EVE fitting tool, portable for mobile/tablets and web.

This could also be possible integrated as a discord bot, it's not easy but can be done. Adding account security and identification on discord so that you can create and share the fittings from and to EVE like eveworkbench does.

Recon deployables.

I've often thought that reconnaissance is a dying artform. Back in the day I used to spend ages collecting recon for my first corp on pilots movements to understand likely activity and fleet doctrines, in order to gain intelligence, the upper hand so as to beat the opponents.

I would love to see recon deployables that could be anchored within 1000k of a gate that can provide dscan information of incoming fleets.

The deployable would last for 15minutes, and explodifies after anchored.

The deployable cannot be tracked back to an individual, nor a corp nor alliance, and merely allows for advance warning of incoming fleet numbers with top level basic intelligence - ie 6 stealth bombers, and 3 interceptors rather than 3 hounds 1 manticore, and a nemesis plus 2 stilettoes and a raptor.

This intelligence, can be hacked by anyone at a beacon within the same constellation at the sun.

Planetary Brokers - Here me out.

Now right in the Eve Online universe, we have "Eve Online" and "Eve Vanguard" which basically war on the ground, what I'd love to see is planetary brokers. So this is how I see this working.

We sell our goods in stations, no matter what region we are in or system 9/10 systems have stations, and the regional market can be accessed and goods sold and or listed to the appropriate price. This makes for "quick selling" but, for people who want a little more "realism" in the game, we add Planetary Brokers.

So instead of just say, setting a destination for Jita, we have the opportunity to click on ANY planet and click "planetary broker" and then this leads to us going through an animation of us landing on the ground itself instead of docking in a station.

Now once on the ground, it's an open area but it's fenced off and there are only one or two brokers behind desks, we can walk up to them and like in other games, press F or some such and hit "trade with the broker" which would then bring up the normal trade/market window.

With this in place, it could add a level of realism that people crave within Eve Online and would be a small thing to add to the game itself. Also, this could give people a new feeling of "walking outside" of their ships in an area, of course, each planet would be different but would add a new "open" feeling to the player base. Also could lead to some pretty epic screenshots lol.

They could also add a "planet to planet" contract system which has limited contracts per day for ISK which would need say, freighters to do this, lower sec systems give more rewards, low sec even more, and null sec even more ISK i.e. Risk Vs Reward.

Upgrade Reprocessing Service at stations to handle frozen capsuleer corpses and turn them into Biomass commodity.

EVE Online has always been a game that pushes the boundaries of space exploration and strategy. My suggestion is to introduce a new gameplay style - 'Space Nomads' or a 'Migrant Fleet', drawing inspiration from the Quarians in Mass Effect. This concept revolves around living as nomads in the most hostile and solitary spaces, such as wormhole space.

The idea of a 'No-dock' lifestyle has always captivated capsuleers, with many attempting to live this way, though often hindered by challenges in module and ammunition production. My solution is to develop a new class of ship, based on the ORE framework of an Orca or Rorqual, capable of being anchored as a temporary station. These ships would function as compact, rapidly deployable citadels, easy to pilot and set up. No actual dock, more like a POS.

Key features of these ships would include bonuses for roaming and limited defense, various types of hangars, and crucially, the ability to produce basic necessities such as ammo, modules, and potentially even up to T1 cruisers. The focus is on supporting the nomadic lifestyle, offering a mobile base for small corporations or groups of friends to explore C1-C3 wormhole space. This concept provides a less daunting commitment than anchoring a full citadel, allowing players to move freely, explore, and navigate the perils of the vast, cold expanse of space.

I have been lobbying for PI presets for some time now, the idea is simple. Setup a planet then save that config, then on a new planet using that same layout from a saved config/preset, adjust for radius, CPU & Power and save. I also would like to see bulk routing/product selection by letting us select multiple factories and set thier input & output routes and production with one step.

An arena where we don't lose ours ships (and we don't get rewards or just not important rewards as skins or Idk) as a simulation of a fight It could help the new players how to pvp and it could be funny

Firework Preview Window.

I’d like to see a preview window for fireworks; that would show what the animation looks like.. There are so many to choose from and the only way to find out what they look like is to go outside and fire one, which is really frustrating.

Something nice and simple rather than adding in a whole new gameplay mechanic.

Allow frozen capsuleer corpses to be salvaged for implants and parts.

Currently, the information about what implants were installed seems to be not stored in the corpse item. That would need to be changed so any future-produced corpse can have a chance to drop parts of implants, or a whole implant set after reprocessing. If one wants to avoid meddling with the current implant market, one could instead create new implants. Sanshas Nation would be a prime contender for the lore behind this. Maybe they could also have certain drawbacks since it's "used" tech.

Not allowing existing corpses to be salvaged for implants will also help to avoid a total crash of the market of these (potentially) new items, as there won't be an instant flood from corpse collectors.

P.S.: A "fitting window" and simulation for implants would also be pretty nice. Currently, we can only do that with out-of-game tools.

Sturmer's avatar

I think we discussed that with CCP Principal, it could be a connection to EVE Vanguard, then 'boots-on-ground' fellas can salvage expensive t2 implant parts from crashed FW pods as part of capsuleers' missions.

Allowing the Procurer mining barge to be Alpha accesible. I recently got into mining as a way to make isk while im at work and not having to worry too much about about it, and I trainned into a Hulk - Class Exhumer, and for once in the 2-3 years that I've been playing EVE i really felt that I was making progress clearing the asteroids. At teh same time I had my alt in a retriever which was my firt Mining Barge and was useful for my setup to comoensate for the Hulk's small Ore Bay. And whe I first got into a barge i could 100% tell the difference between the "3 Main Tiers" of minig vessels, coming from a time where all I had was a Venture for mining and didn't make money or progress at all, to a barge that bearly does anything but is a something to an Exhumer that is the endgame ship for a Miner amde my wonder why the Venture is even a thing, the only uses I can think for one is to be a cheap Industrial cyno and maybe starter mssions, but as a mining vessel is pathetic. The few asteroirs that you can easily clear in a Venture are not worth anything and for the ones that are worth the time to collect the Venture does nothing. But I can see why CCP would make the Venture a thing a starting point, but comapred to the other Ore hulls in terms of cusntionality is just the Corvette of minign ships, SO I would propose to allow Alphas to at least get into the next ship in the list, The Procurer, it doesnt have a very good mining speed or a very good ore hold but is a brick, compared to the venture is slow and doesnt have the warp core stabilization bonus. Out of all the T1 barges is deffinetly the weakest but does not feel as useless as the venture.

Cpt Armarlio's avatar

The bot mining spam would be really bad; like REALLY bad and would throw everything that CCP have done in rebalancing ore and manufacturing out of the window.

Ah yes, time to trigger Nullbears again.

Add an anchorable fueled structure that provides local chat for Nullsec. This adds another dimension to large scale PVP in the form of sabotage operations in enemy space and combats the "oh no, there's a neutral in system, better dock up" mentality of the 15 haven running ishtars in any given system

greybill's avatar

This also would have an impact on hunters: Without knowing if there is someone in local, there is only d-scan left to go by. And that doesn't cover a whole system. And then there are ships that do not show up on d-scan. No local can make hunting an overall slower process.

Meanwhile, it would certainly make the profession of scouting and reconnaissance more valuable.

I'm not against it, but I believe changes to local have to be very carefully crafted to not make people stop crabbing entirely. With no prey, the hunters will eventually starve too.

S

I think a good feature would be the hauling of clones. Already players often have to hop in a shuttle to deposit a clone for a future engagement and some capitals have a clone vat bay that allows them to carry clones that fleet members can jump into.

Hauling clones would allow moving clone to be fleshed out into a full game mechanic that would provide utility and gameplay. A hauling group or corp could move a large quantity of clones at one to an in demand location from which pilots could jump into. This still puts ships and clones at risk but builds upon the idea that a large group is more effiecent. It would be fun as these ships would be prime targets for people hoping to destroy rare implants or disrupt an op. It would also provide great utility as moving clones around is often monotonous and in most cases is just wasted time while people autopilot from point A to B.

Container Fitting Access

I propose a simple, life-changing feature - access to Containers in a hangar when fitting ships. Right now, if you keep mods/ammo/fuel/drones or anything else inside a container in your hangar you need to manually add those to your ships when you fit them. This is extremely frustrating for those of us who often fit multiple ships at a time for our Corporations/Alliances or as part of a fleet or event.

Don't even get me started on what happens when we fit up 20,000 frigates for our annnual FF4A events. This is a small but significant change that makes sense and would significantly impact quality of time inside the game.

orik Kado's avatar

Undoubtedly, there are a large number of improvements or new features that would greatly enhance the game for everyone (starting with PI), but now I have a somewhat different idea:

Would it be possible to introduce officer modules specifically for mining? Perhaps it wouldn't be very practical, and only a few people might use them, but I think it would be interesting. As I've mentioned in other topics, the ORE faction has a lot of potential for generating lore.

And, as we're feeling creative, I propose something out of the ordinary: mutated fighter squadrons. Imagine having to risk an entire squadron by subjecting them to a mutaplasmid in the hope of gaining some extra damage. However, if you lose a single fighter from the squadron, the rest lose the mutation, and you have to go through the process again.

I'm not sure to what extent this could disrupt the balance, but it would certainly provide a lot of fun by introducing new things to try out.

Remove the "RPG" stuff from EVE. If you hit a Human with a Atomic bomb according to EVE Logic you would surive with little to no damage. (If you would run even less.) Why? because the Atomic bomb is made to destroy countrys not a single human. Lets skip that :P

I want MINE Fields either in PVE or PVP or everywhere.

  • Visible / None Visible

  • Magentic approaching

  • High manual flying

  • from small to big.. but big will kill you frigate. Small can be crushed with a BS like icebreaker

Maybe also deployed by NPC to secure old battlefields because debris actual don´t disapear in space. So you people could visit these sites and make some starting isk and get told the idea of this big battle.,

Which comes to the Point.

INGAME VIDs and Story Telling etc? WHEN DO WE GET RID OF TEXT ADVANTURE STYLE?

2024 :P just saying.
