Congratulations! You’ve just found the home of the internet’s foremost collection of EVE Online screenshots. Since we launched Just About EVE, we’ve been challenging the game’s most creative and dedicated players to take screenshots of particular aspects of the game, and in return we’ve been awarding them with cash prizes. Below, you’ll find a selection of the winning screenshots, covering the topics of explosions, war, nebulae, Upwell structures, Winter Nexus, Capsuleer Day, fleets, fireworks, and Zarzakh. We’ll update this EVE Online screenshot gallery with more topics, so be sure to bookmark it and check back in!
EVE Online explosion screenshots
Pew, pew, boom! It’s always good to start things with a bang, so here’s an absolute beauty from greybill:
Next up, here’s a pirate stronghold being blown up, submitted by JAKEL33T:
“Sometimes, EVE looks like a pulp sci-fi novel cover”. Rixx Javix nailed the brief with this one, featuring not one but two explosions:
The next comes from FirestormGamingTeam; it’s a real ring of fire:
EVE Online can be poetry. Just ask Sturmer:
EVE Online war screenshots
Why stick to one explosion when you could have a whole war’s worth? First up, I-401's lilac stunner:
Celltear is up next with an image captured during the Pochven Wars between the Pro-Triglavian Alliance of the Kybernauts Clade, ITC, Stribog and friends versus EM, Lumen, and a selection of Null Blocs. Here’s their intro:
“The Azbel was the one of the most important citadels in all New Eden as it couldn’t be replaced and its survival or destruction would define the future of Pochven industry. It was reduced to 1% of its hull after its defence fleets were wiped several times over, resorting to their remaining ratting and PvE ships for the last-ditch defence. In the image below, a handful of the remaining attacking Typhoons throw themselves at the Azbel while desperate defenders rush to clear them from the area.”
Greybill is no stranger to war:
“Whenever someone brings up an EVE war, I recall this conversational snippet:
‘FC, we’re losing carriers!’
‘Yes. I can see that.’”
Daniel's EVE Online screenshot captures the chaos of a New Eden war:
Glorious rays of death? FUN INC's image is nothing short of electrifying:
JHenckes can’t remember what was happening when they took this screenshot, but every time they see it, they think of “the madness of war”:
EVE Online nebulae screenshots:
Nebulae are some of the galaxy’s most impressive visual delights. MacGybo expertly captures their terrifying beauty:
Be careful not to look too far into the abyss of Eaglefirefly's shot, lest it look back into you:
EVE Online Upwell structure screenshots:
As soon as Upwell structures became customisable, we challenged our community members to capture some of their newfound colours. Kane Carnifex jumped on the chance to snap this hot pink Keepstar:
JAKEL33T captured one of these industrial powerhouses looking particularly intimidating:
We really love how William has framed the structure in a rare opening between the icy cosmic clouds:
EVE Online Winter Nexus screenshots:
Talking of icy, how about some screenshots from EVE’s annual festive event, the Winter Nexus? Starting with Recios EVE:
We love this one - which looks like an icy lake or wet salt flat - taken during Rixx Javix’s Mamba and Mekubal roam with his appropriately named pirate corp Stay Frosty:
Meanwhile, Sturmer was kind enough to keep his pal warm “in the snowy reaches of space”:
EVE Online Capsuleer Day screenshots
While we’re on the topic of EVE’s events, how about New Eden’s longest day of the year? Brother Grimoire kicks us off with an image of his Stratios - complete with a ‘Friendship League’ skin - undertaking a Desolate Collapsed Conduit relic site:
FirestormGamingTeam tackled a few sites of their own, and captured this beautiful, if ominous, screenshot:
And here’s Limal showing off a Capsuleer Day skin on their shiny new Khiz:
EVE Online fleet screenshots
We were overwhelmed with great images when we challenged EVE Online players to capture screenshots of fleets in flight. Here’s a selection of the best, starting with Kane Carnifex’s Vagabound Fleet aligned before warp:
A fleet should only fly as fast as its slowest member. In this case, that’s Angel lineman, who returns with another great shot:
If you’re looking for more useful fleeting-up advice, check out our EVE Online fleet etiquette guide. If you learn the ropes, then perhaps Eaglefirefly will let you join this historic crew:
Or perhaps you’re more of the chill mining crew type? In which case, you might want to join Dydo's motley band:
Dydo’s image shows an impressive level of synchronisation, but Rixx Javix’s screenshot takes the biscuit with this Drekavec conga line. Rixx is in the lead, taking on a structure in wormhole space.
“I got very lucky with the angle and number of ships. As more and more joined the line, it became impossible to get a shot like this; it’s always been one of my favourites.”
Can anyone lend us a wide-angled lens? Hunter's screenshot has some UI elements enabled. While they detract from the aesthetics, they show the size of some of EVE’s fleets. This one features 250 ships in flight.
EVE Online fireworks screenshots
When Guy Fawkes’ Night rolled around, we challenged the community to mark the occasion with EVE Online screenshots of fireworks. As it turned out, that was a rather good decision. Kane Carnifex got us started:
It comes in GIF form too:
Having finished a roam, Rixx Javix asked his fleetmates to shoot fireworks at him. He may have received more than he bargained for:
Rixx: "Hey guys, would you mind shooting one or two..."
Rixx's roam-mates:
Taking inspiration from the origins of Guy Fawkes’ night, Sturmer reached deep into EVE’s past:
“I think this is a perfect place to shine some light on an interesting event, which is actually closer to the Gunpowder Plot than to fireworks! It also featured quite spectacular explosions before the introduction of actual fireworks, but we can class them as ‘vanilla fireworks’:
“This incident, known as the Yulai Massacre, became infamous and led to three major changes in the game’s mechanics:
Any ship repairing an aggressor would now receive an aggressor flag and be attacked.
CONCORD police ships became invulnerable, gaining 99% damage resistance.
CONCORD’s attacks were upgraded to automatically destroy any ship, no matter its defences.
“I was there, looting CONCORD tags that I still keep as a collection, along with several corpses from Zombies Inc.”
We loved Hunter’s majestic fireworks screenshot so much that we made it the cover image for this article. The fireworks were to celebrate their alliance winning a defensive war. Hunter named the image Fire in the Black Void.
In Dydo’s case, we’ll never know the cause for celebration, but it sure as heck is pretty:
“There I was, serving my solitude, when someone started celebrating something - maybe even life itself.”
Fireworks aren’t only used for celebration. Jaques Ufaltred sent us this wonderful image from the ‘scarcity riots’ of 2021:
Our final selection of EVE Online screenshots featuring fireworks come from LukaZaharin. They were taken to celebrate the first anniversary of his Phoenix corp:
“Use a little imagination and you can see the blazing wings!”
We can’t be the only ones reminded of this scene:
EVE Online Zarzakh screenshots
And that takes us onto Zarzakh and its maelstroms. With the Deathless still front and centre in EVE’s ongoing narrative, there are worse times to be reminded of Zarzakh’s beauty. Rixx Javix braved the environmental threats to capture these ominous images of the Fulcrum:
As well as this jaw-dropping screenshot of Zarzakh, you can see why the Deathless was drawn to the place:
Long-time player Fun Inc was blown away by Zarzakh: “It’s not like anything that I’ve seen in EVE before! The solar flares are a particular treat that you need to watch out for.” We can see why he was so impressed:
