SMITE 2

SMITE 2

I think an event that would be really cool to have now during the winter break would be called “Eternal Winter”. It would consist of a new 3x3 map where the gods would have to dominate territories, collect relics that would give various buffs and throw snowballs (this is the coolest one for me hahaha).

The snowballs would be explosive and cause damage (it's like an extra ability for all the characters). They could also be used to break ice barriers that would be present on the map to hinder or help the team, as well as causing slowdown or stun debuffs on the enemy hit.

There would be three achievement locations, two on the sides of the map and a central one with more benefits. There would be two ways to win, either by crossing all the opposing team's barriers or by conquering the territories for longer (by reaching the required score).

The event would come with the release of winter skins (they could be ice or Christmas themed) and gifts mainly for Norse gods like Fenrir and Ymir. Why? Because of what I'm about to say.

The event would also see the release of Skadi, present in the first game but not yet released in the second. She would be the main attraction of the event, and the biggest reward to be won if all the quests were completed (the quests wouldn't be so simple, obviously hahaha).

The event would also reward you with new icons, a specific currency to buy the event skins and with missions such as hitting a certain number of snowballs or winning a certain number of event matches.

There would be a lot of details that I couldn't go into in detail, but that's what the event would consist of, what do you think?

L

Challenge of the gods: (can be themed to any festive event)

This event would include a leaderboard and rewards from everyone who participate (spoiler allert: as long as you play you will earn reward).

First and foremost the rewards:

• tier1: global emote pertaining to the festive event

•tier2: Jump stamps / recall skin / ward skin (I HOPE WE GET THOSE AT SOME POINT)

•tier3: special emote for a god (example: ymir throwing a snowball/ dance emote for a god? (this emote can be used on any skin))

•tier4: Skin event (might be a recolor or a brand new skin whatever you prefer)

•tier5: Leader board skin event (top 100), they will get a "shiny version" of the skin event on top of the normal skin event

•Tier 5 bis: title for the top 10, for instance something on the line of "Nightmare of 20XX" if halloween themed, or "Hearbreaker of 20XX" for valentine's day?

How will the event play:

•Most basic rewards (tier 1 to tier 4): play a number of matches (win or loose them but DO NOT AFK), you can play normal mode or ranked mode.

You can also add missions if you so prefer (ex: kill XXX gods, makes XXX assists, bla bla bla)

•Tier 5 reward: choose a gamemode (ranked or not) and make a duplicate for the event (valentine / christmass / halloween whatsoever), the gamemode MUST be stylized (please add themed decorations such as snow for winter as an example).

Once you decide on which gamemode will be used (arena / joust / conquest / slash? but please never duel it is better to farm the event with friends). Make a leader board tracking win/loss and most importantly KILLS ASSIST AND DEATH + tower / objectiv destroyed (such as titan so to avoid people just farming kills if you choose conquest for instance), most of the points should be awarded on the KDA + objective as to encourage interaction and good play from people.

How you could monetize this event:

Make a paid unlockable version of the event which will unlock an additional skin, jump stamp, music theme ? , announcer pack?, recall skin etc.

This version should be on the same difficulty than the tier 1 to 4 reward and be 20 euros at max. (I am a whale and if I smell bullshit in pricing, I won t buy.) The goal would be for the paid version to be accessible to a large audience as to encourage people to buy, not to high paywall a cool skin.

This version should have NO REWARDS LINKED TO THE LEADERBOARD, leaderboard is for free to play player and encourage people playing the event.

END OF THE EVENT:

Highlight (if possible) the top 10 players during a livestream or post or hall of fame in game on the main page . This will be the final "hey look mama ima famous" moment.

ps: sorry if there is any mistakes in my grammar or anything else, english is not my primary language.

N

Gift giving.

Play X amount of games to earn gift vouchers which can give gifts to your friends. Maybe some festive skins or some icons. Nothing to crazy but also nice and cute to fit the holiday theme. Maybe titles or some more rewards I can't think of that they are gonna come up with.

Something wild I think that would be really cool, is map skins. I know its really early in the development phase but map skins would be really cool. Obviously they would be solely cosmetic but they would be so cool to see. Maybe a snow theme for the winter. A beach theme for a summer. A pretty fall themed forest for the fall. The list goes on. A snow ball global emote?

Maybe Santa Bacchus comes back but you need to give a certain number of gifts or have a certain number of games played to earn it?

There are so many things they could do.

F

Christmas Conquest

Items in this game mode are limitless

Replace Gold Fury with Frosty the Snowman

Replace Fire Giant with Santa Claus

Every time Frosty the snow man is defeated a new power up is added.

  1. Level 1: All minions become snowmen gaining ranged autos inside tower line and a 10% slow to all ranged autos. (First 3 melee until they reach the tower and are inside the line)

  2. Level 2: All minions health is doubled

  3. Level 3: Players receive Frosty's buff - Snowball Fight (Ultimate abilities are reduced by 20% - this effect stacks on top of The World Stone)

  4. Level 4: Towers are not reduced in health but they are now Frozen, (they do not fire and slow friendly minion waves. Enemy waves will walk faster up lane.)

Santa Claus

Defeating Santa Claus will make him fly into the air instantly giving every player an extra tier 3 item at random. Items in this game mode are limitless.

He will then fly across the map and grant 'presents' to allied minions granted 25% increased attack speed and 15% increased damage to structures.

Finally Santa Bestows "Holiday Cheer" buff

  • All allied Gods receive 30 Health Regen

  • All allied Gods receive 10% pen

  • All allied Gods receive 5 Mana Regen

  • All allied Gods receive 5% Increased Damage to players

  • All allied Gods gain 30 Protections.

Easter event

And this would be the perfect moment to introduce the Christian Mythology into the game with the introduction of the new god Jesus, who would carry a cross as weapon and his ultimate would allow to resurrect himself for a small amount of time to deal more damage to the enemy.

With that event would have a special gamemode that would be like a capture the flag game but instead a flag the team must capture the most Easter eggs possible and the team with more eggs would win! And this game mode would have the options to chose 2 to 4 teams fighting each other all teams with 4 gods.

The map of this game mode would be a greenish field and would have a small hills where the teams base would have with a basket, the combat would works exactly the same, if you die you will have to wail a time to respawn again, and the god that is killed with a Easter egg will drop the egg and any other god can grab and start to run towards it's base. To makes things interesting the god with the egg will have some debuffs specially in its speed to make things a little fair.

New Game Mode: Roll a Perfect Snowman!

Welcome to a frosty 9v9 match where the goal is simple—build the biggest snowman! At the center of the arena lies a snowy field, and each player has three unique abilities:

  1. Roll a Ball - Gradually increase the size of the snowball as you roll it across the snow.

  2. Carry the Ball - Lift the snowball onto your head and transport it to your base to build the snowman.

  3. Toss a Snowball - Throw a snowball to stun an opponent for 1 second. However, if a stunned player is carrying a ball, they drop it, and the ball falls apart.

You need exactly three balls to complete your snowman. Balls can't be merged at your base—each new ball replaces an existing one.

Match Duration: 7 minutes. After time's up, judges (North Pole elves and reindeer!) evaluate both teams' snowmen based on size. The team with the biggest snowman wins!

Strategy: Protect your ball carriers, and sabotage opponents by breaking their snowball progress.

The twist? Snowballs have friendly fire! A misstep could mess up your teammates’ game plan, so aim wisely.

E

I think I'd like to steal some inspiration from League of Legends here!

When you think about winter, what do you think of? Sleds! Snowball fights! Forts!

I'd like to propose an (unrealistic) gamemode of a snowball fight!

It'd take place in a modified arena setting, probably, but the map is covered in several feet of snow! Gods can auto attack to "shovel" wide paths in the snow, allowing the map to change over time (ranged auto attacks would take two hits to break a path!). By shoveling snow, you gain charges on your snowball active item! Tossing the snowball, if it hits an enemy, will "mark" them, allowing you to "slide" over to them through walls, like in League's ARAM map!

I really like the idea of shoveling snow to change the map's geometry throughout the match- being on the arena ruleset, minions would also auto attack a path (slowly) down the center of the map, which would make for a funny situation where like 30 minions clash in the center eventually.

Instead of the juggernauts, I think kills eventually "snowing in" one half of the map, collapsing some of their pathways, would be fun. This would also allow for the lategame to go later, as arenas often end just as I get full build, which is always disappointing.

You could have mountains replace the spectators in the arena, and maybe avelanches could happen periodically, creating a hazard for characters like Hercules to push you into!

Anyways, that's my silly, probably half-baked idea, but I think it would end up being some good fun if implemented properly!

I dont have a name for this game but it would be a 12 person game consisting of 6 teams of 2.
the map would be a large circle with various camps and objectives around the map
the main point of the game would be emlinations or a point system.

the key component of the game is that there is no item store. The way to get items is by opening them up from presents around the map and by defeating jungle camps. the items that are dropped are completely random but you can swap out an item any time. Defeating an enemy allows you to steal 1 item from them.

to add to the festive idea the map would be snowy jungle camps would be like reindeer elfs snowman, have a fire gaint that is santa, could have a gold fury that is krampus or something like that.

a random mechanic that would be fun, its kinda like a relic has like a 1 sec cooldown but its a snowball that you can throw at enemies has a really long range but does liek 10 dmg or something.

Pantheon Winter Festival

The gods of every pantheon have united to celebrate the winter season, bringing unique festivities, challenges, and rewards. The event focuses on seasonal cheer and cooperative competition. Players can unlock exclusive skins, titles, and badges by completing themed quests and battling against each other in the exclusive game mode, Frostbound Clash.

Frostbound Clash:
Gods battle in a festive snow-covered arena to collect Winter Orbs that are thrown on the field. Deposit the orbs at the enemy team's Winter Shrine to deplete your enemies points, but beware, if you die with orbs, the enemy claims them as theirs. (Players would take their orbs to the enemy portal and use the 'interact' button to place them in.)

At minute 10. the Frost Giant (make fire giant blue or something lol) spawns giving a substantial amount of orbs to the team that kills him.

The arena is exposed to the elements, so be wary of the ice patches and snow drifts (the ice would be like Skadi ice, and the snow drifts would act like stealth grass).

Community Challenge: The Festival Tree:
Through the event, players work collectively to "decorate" a massive world-tree displayed in both the menu screen and the arena map. Decoration unlocks will be based on players completing quests and accumulating points. Players can then spend their points in a pool for unlockable decorations for the tree on the events tab. Quests may include:

  • Winning matches with specific pantheons

  • Earning gold across games

  • Gifting a player a chest (ala Smite 1 gift system)

    Playing Frostbound Clash

Winter-Themed Skins (don't ask me to draw lol):

  • Santa? Danzaburou: He's dressed up like Santa, but all of his presents from his sack hurt. His voice pack would be his default voice but with lines of him trying to pull it off.

  • Holiday Pajamas Jing Wei: Like a child who has matching Christmas pajamas with her family, and speaking of family...

  • Holiday Sleepwear He Bo: He's not in the game yet, but he is Jing Wei's uncle

  • Treemir Ymir: Sentient coniferous tree that is a little cold this holiday season, but he doesn't want to be cut down!

  • Sapporo Sculpture Yuki-onna: Later down, I decided to include a new goddess and have her bring in the event, but the Sapporo Snow festival takes place in Sapporo, Japan and it celebrates the winter season via ice sculptures, so it would be a neat skin to include.

Once you spend enough points for decorations for the Festival Tree, players unlock Winter Wishes. Winter Wishes can be used to shop for rewards, including cosmetics and boosters. Purchasing skins during the event also unlocks Winter Wishes.

Cosmetic Rewards:

  • Snowball Fight global emote

  • Ice King/Queen badges (maybe use faces of skins that already represent these?)

  • Snowscape background for god selection

  • Event Title "Winter's Herald"

Usually events this big are brought in with some Smite lore and a new god (it was Danza for the last major winter event I know of), and I am going to be so real with you, I am not caught up on that. I am about 30 chapters in, so if this lore hook doesn't fit, oh well.

Lore:

From all of the chaos brought from the gods and goddesses raging war against each other for years, Nut has called forth Yuki-onna, a Japanese maiden brough forth in blizzards (the spirit that inspired the Pokemon Froslass), to demand respite. Whether it be from pure awe or respect, a cease fire has resounded across the battleground. Together, Yuki-onna and Nut have gathered the gods to announce that this winter season, no battles will be fought. Instead, they will celebrate their differences as we enjoy this holiday season together. The gods have agreed to this, but that has not stopped their competitions. Together, the pantheons have banded together to create the "most" representation without disobeying the order of Nut and Yuki-onna.

I hope y'all enjoy reading this and lemme know what you think!

L

White Elephant Conquest.
It begins like any other mode, the god select screen, however this time you aren't choosing Your god, you are choosing a god, a god which will be added to a pool, and randomly handed out to the other players.
now, other than maybe 2 of the same god on the same team, it doesn't look all that different upon loading in, however when you open up the store, there is no more tier one items, only a present, when you buy the present you get a random tier 1 item and you need the tier 1 items to make any item, there is an increased gold and experience thing going on to make it less annoying but the fun is found in the randomness!
now some other minor changes that can be made to make it feel a little different is for example reducing the time between minion and jungle monsters (re)spawning by half while reducing their health by 40% making the mode allot more rapid farming and make it feel less slow.

The amount of time and effort that something like this would take, would be...immense, to say the least. But the reward would be AMAZING.

This isn't much of a "new" game mode, per se, but more of a theme over the familiar Arena game mode we already know and love. Because we're going for a festive theme, the map would be COVERED with snow. With UE5 at our disposal, it's not impossible to think that we could have some of the Gods leave footprints in the snow (I say some because Medusa slithers and Hades floats). Might not seem like a huge thing at face value, but it's the little things that we appreciate as players.

Aside from the snowy enviorment, with the walls around the buffs holding mistletoes, wreaths, all the festive stuff we know and love...but this arena comes with a new game mechanic. Instead of the crowd throwing roses on to the arena floor like they do now, they throw snowballs. This could be handled a couple of different ways, and I don't know which one I like best, so I'll throw out a few ideas. These snowballs could be picked up and kept as consumables, then thrown at enemies to deal a bit of extra ranged damage. Maybe 150 physical + a bit of percentage health?? Something along those lines. OR, the crowd could be throwing the snowballs a bit less playfully, meaning that the snowballs coming from the crowd would explode on impact, dealing damage to whichever God comes in contact, regardless of which team. A bit of enviormental danger like this could definetly make things a little more interesting!!

S

Event Name: "Yule Reckoning"

Winter has brought the cold and with the cold also a battle between kingdoms for the power of Yule. The strong powers are: "The witch" who distributes coals and evokes storms, then there is "Krampus", a powerful warrior who uses chains to unleash torture on enemies.

But there is him, "Santa Slam Thor" who with his hammer in the shape of a Christmas tree tries to fight this evil duo to restore the atmosphere of peace and give each unfortunate person what the duo had taken from them. The game mode is called "Assault on the Pole" which sees two teams fight at the North Pole to conquer the ice base. You can use ice and snow abilities not only to attack but also to defend yourself. The maps are decorated with Christmas lights and snowmen.

The event includes the advent calendar with daily gifts and random gifts, which could be tools to fight in the challenges. Missing one of the rewards could mean losing the right weapon to easily face your enemies.

F

Festive Event: "Divine Winter Solstice"

In SMITE 2, the Divine Winter Solstice could be a seasonal event celebrating the winter solstice with a unique narrative, themed skins, and special game modes. The gods come together to face an ancient threat emerging from the heart of winter, forcing them to collaborate in an epic challenge.

Key Features of the Event:

  1. PvE Mode: “The Rise of Ymir”
A cooperative mode where players must defeat a primordial Ymir, empowered by eternal frost, and his legion of icy minions. The mode would feature multiple stages, including protecting a temple, collecting ancient relics, and a final battle against a colossal Ymir in a frozen arena.

  2. Exclusive Skins and Rewards
Gods would receive festive skins, such as Thor wielding a crystalline ice hammer, Scylla with pups dressed as reindeer, or Zeus draped in a mantle adorned with winter lights. Completing event challenges would unlock rewards like emotes, avatars, and profile decorations.

  3. Winter-Themed Map
Standard game arenas would be decorated for winter, with snow, illuminated trees, and festive music. Some god abilities might temporarily change their appearance to match the theme, such as snowballs instead of projectiles or icy trails.

  4. Daily Missions and Lore
Players could unlock fragments of a new divine narrative by completing daily missions, uncovering the secrets of the “Winter Sun” and its connection to the pantheon.

The Divine Winter Solstice would be an event rich in atmosphere and content, designed to offer challenges, festive aesthetics, and a sense of community, making winter a special time in the SMITE 2 universe.

K

SMITE 2 Holiday Event: "Frostbound Revelry"

Theme and Lore

Winter has come to the Battleground of the Gods, but this year, it brings more than just snow and ice. The Frostbound Court, an ancient assembly of frost and winter deities, has emerged to challenge the gods for dominion over the season. Led by Iskria, the Frost Empress, and her minions, the Court brings with them chilling powers and a wave of icy magic that covers the battleground.

This event explores themes of winter magic, icy mythology, and festive mischief, tying into Norse, Slavic, and Celtic mythology while introducing new original concepts.

Cernunnos takes on the role of Rudolph with glowing antlers and a red nose, spreading festive cheer with each ability.

3. Gamemode: "Blizzard Blitz"

    • Small Snowballs: Quick, low-damage projectiles.

    • Packed Snowballs: Slower, medium-damage throws with splash effects.

    • Avalanche: A high-cost ultimate ability that calls down a wave of snow to damage all enemies in its path.
The team with the most points after 10 minutes wins.

  • Twist: Environmental hazards like collapsing ice bridges and sudden blizzards that obscure vision keep players on their toes.

4. Event Challenges

  • "Frostbound Trials":
Weekly quests tied to the event that reward festive treasures and chests:

    • Land 100 snowball hits in Blizzard Blitz.

    • Win 5 matches as winter-themed gods (e.g., Skadi, Ymir, Cernunnos).

    • Collect 50,000 gold in Conquest during the event.

  • "Frozen Path Battle Pass":

  • Conquest: The Fire Giant becomes an Ice Giant, and jungle camps feature snow creatures like Frost Wolves and Ice Golems.

  • Arena: The map is enclosed in a massive snow globe with falling snow and ice sculptures of SMITE gods.

6. Community Challenges

  • Players contribute to global goals by earning points through completing event matches and challenges. Unlock rewards like a Holiday Chest containing exclusive items, gems, and favor.

  • If the community reaches the maximum goal, all players receive a limited-edition skin: "Frost King Thor."

Cosmetic Rewards

  • Avatars: Snowflake, Ice Shard, Frostbound Sigil.

  • Loading Screens: A festive village backdrop with animated falling snow.

  • Global Emote: "Snowball Toss" – lets players throw snowballs in victory screens.

  • Ward Skins: A snowman that waves as enemies approach.

I thought of an event called “Shadow of Ice”

Theme: Ancient frozen spirits fly over our arena and bring a new way

Event:

Duration: December 15 to January 10.

Game Mode: “Ice Hunt” - A PvPvE mode where you join two teams that will face each other indirectly, facing human enemies and icy creatures. The map is not released in its entirety from the start, where you end up facing waves and with elements of resource management, try to survive. The map expands as new “events” occur, with several possible, such as a counter of defeated enemies or who transports a magic item faster from one location to another, thus expanding the map until you reach the end, where in a dominate-the-flag scheme, the teams face each other with buffs due to their previous performance.

Visuals: Dark and misty maps, full of ancient ruins covered in snow.

Music: Constantly suspenseful, changing to epic as you go.

I really like events that go beyond the obvious, where you just have a common goal and release the players to fight, the idea of uniting a PVE element and requiring collaboration between the players at the PVE moment brings a big change from what we know of the game.

T

The old Smite Adventure game modes were truly something special, and Fafnir's Winter Wonderland stands out as an absolute classic. I remember sinking countless hours into it, teaming up with friends to tackle its challenges, and having an absolute blast. It was the perfect mix of strategy, teamwork, and fun, and it added a fresh layer to the Smite experience. Bringing back something similar would be a fantastic way to reengage fans who loved those adventures.

A great idea could be to tie it to the Chinese New Year, creating a mode with 12 levels, each themed around one of the zodiac animals as bosses - or even some of our favorite Chinese Gods and Godesses. This would not only provide variety and replayability but also a fun thematic twist. It could even serve as a teaser for a new god from the Chinese pantheon, adding extra excitement for lore enthusiasts.

For this winter period, I think an event with the theme “Celestial Ice Festival” would be really cool. The story would take place at a time of a very rare celestial event, when the cosmos align and the ice and stars converge, so that a rift opens between the dimensions and the gods of the stars and winter unite to protect the battlefield from Nyx, the God of the night, accompanied by her celestial beasts.

Winter skins would also be very welcome, such as the Polar King Fenrir, a giant bear with frozen fur and eyes like crystal.

The event could bring innovative games to play. Like the 5v5 mode, within the theme of ice and stars. Every 3 minutes, there could be a “starfall”, when traps would be thrown across the field. Walls of ice could appear at random to create barriers and make the match more difficult. Victory would come from completing objectives, such as destroying constellations.

In addition, the PvPvE mode could be a cooperative match in which two teams compete to defeat winter creatures and stars while collecting resources. There could be traps and sabotage between the two teams, until you reach the final stage, which would be a battle against Nyx.

I think this festival would bring a lot of novelty and community involvement, while maintaining the spirit of the original game.
