Musicians often radiate cool, they're the textbook example of rad, iconic in plenty of ways, from their talent and ability to their style and aura. They're often celebrities for a reason, and while idolisation can often be unhealthy when taken to the extreme, it's perfectly natural to admire someone you think exhibits all of the above.
We want you to show us which musician you admire the most and tell us why! Explain who they are, when you became a fan, and why they're one of your favourite musicians to win.
I think a lot of you already knows who Ado is. For now, Ado is my favorite singer. I love her voice, and she can sing songs that require a deep voice or songs that need screaming, like when she covered Unravel, and she performed amazingly while singing it.
One of my favorite musical artists is the great "Lady Gaga" her songs are so lively and catchy that they even make anyone dance haha when one of her songs comes on automatically I have to get up and dance and sing, some of her lyrics are so emotional and you can see that she is a very kind and empathetic person with those around her, even when a rumor about her gender was made she never denied it until years later when they asked her why she never clarified the rumors? To which she replied that she never touched on the subject because she didn't see the bad thing about people thinking she was of a certain gender, another reason why I admire her so much!
I like her voice, especially her song that i also enjoy singing like her. Taylor Swift's songs that I like are Cardigan, London Boy, Fearless. But my favorite one is White Horse.
It just feels like the song is related to my life.
Her voice is so energic, i like to sing like her. gather so much energy just to sing her song. even if my voice doesnt match her music, i still tryna sing her song.
her personal life is cute yet not a good one i dare say... but she still tryna be strong and make a good song for me to hear.
One of my fav musician is Manabu Taniguchi or known as MAH from SiM. Yups,he is the one who Made song for opening anime Attack on Titan.
I know him and his band from a song which is a anime opening song too called EXiSTENCE. The first experience i hear the song is like i hear lamb of god, Slipknot and A7X getting combined with little of ska,reggae,hip-hop,funky edm emo style which makes this band so unique. If you interested about this band i recommend you to listen Who's Next, Dance in The Dark, Sound of Breath and Fallen Idols if you a metal/rock fans i recommend it
Just like many others, my first time with 5 Seconds of Summer was when She Looks So Perfect was being played everywhere. It was melodic, enjoyable, and had that old school 2010s pop-punk feel but I didn’t cling to it as their devotee at that time. A couple of years later, everything twisted on its head when I happened to be watching a wrestling pay-per-view. One of the event’s promo songs was Teeth, and I was hooked instantly. I couldn’t believe it was 5SOS! While the sound was indeed darker, more mature, and incredibly so, it only took me a few seconds to search for the Youngblood album, and I listened to it in its entirety on the spot. This was the point where I was convinced.
From that time on, I have been a huge fan, I’ve been to almost all their concerts, and they are breathtaking when performing live. Their music has gone through so many stages over the years, and they are now combining rock, pop, and alternative elements, all the while still maintaining that raw, emotional energy that breathes life into every song. It’s not often that you come across a band that continues to challenge themselves artistically, which is why I am so impressed by their journey, from the very beginning to a remarkable band with a unique sound.
The song I've decided to share is from their latest album 5sos5.
Seeing NOFX live was a massive highlight for me in '22 in Brisbane Australia. I'm somewhere up the front in this clip getting smooshed against the barrier and loving every second. I wouldn't call myself a hardcore fan but they've been a part of the soundtrack of my life since the early nineties. Especially this song, Linoleum, which is such an odd punk anthem without a chorus or any rhyme - just an honest callout to the floor that supports his head, his closest friend. Its poetry in a pink dress. Rock on Mike, El Hefe, Eric and Smelly
When I was a teenager, and MTV was actually all about the music videos, I laid eyes on Sting and instantly fell in love. At the time, he was still a part of The Police. The reason for for my love for Sting? He is shown playing the upright bass. I am a classical bassist and was all about that instrument (I still am). Sting has a phenomenal voice, an awesome song writer and a fantastic musician. I enjoy the folksy stories he tells in song form. I appreciate how Sting shows his empathy, compassion and love. There are not very musicians out there that do this and do it well. Thank you Sting!
I like this artist from Campania because he shows that he cares about his land and tells, in his songs, about his life that starts from the bottom. I like his humility that has always remained the same
The Script has always been my favourite band. Their music isn’t just songs—it’s life stories put into melody. The lyrics hit deep, the emotions feel real. From Breakeven to Hall of Fame, they’ve got a song for every moment 🤘 #JustAbout #Just.
Sail North is an incredibly talented musical artist, but he's also a lesson in persistence. His musical talent comes from his many years of self-teaching and working with passionate artists. He may have expanded his knowledge of musical theory from his earlier days, but it was always his passion for music that drove him to new creative endeavors. What makes him a great artist is his willingness to try new things and give them an honest effort. You can see from his videos and hear from his songs that he is full of imagination. The lyrics of his shanty songs are rich with detail, and he is able to weave stories that tell immense history in just a few minutes. His lyrical prowess is immense. He has embarked on a number of musical endeavors, suffered heartbreaks, and fostered his love of music during hard times, and through all of it, never gave up on his dream.
A singer / artist that I admire the most is Fletcher. She’s so open with her sexuality as a queer woman, and creates pop music that sounds incredible and is deemed mainstream. I just think she’s done so much for the LGBTQ+ community within popular music / culture, and she really makes me feel less alone in terms of being an openly gay woman. I adore her music and the message she spreads overall, and have nothing but good words to say about her as an artist.
I've been listening to Within Temptation for over 20 years now. I found them in the era of AMVs where someone made a music video of Final Fantasy VII Advent Children to their song Somewhere. I was listening to gothic and symphonic metal so their style caught me instantly.
While a lot of bands have member changes surrounded by drama, I don't remember any with them. They just made music and went on with their lives. Sharon's husband doesn't tour with the band anymore as he's the one staying at home with the kids, but still participates in song writing in the studio. I think this is a great example of how to best support your partner's career and find a setup which lets you both have a fulfilling life and pursue your dreams.
Another reason why I admire them is how openly they support Ukraine. Getting involved in politics as an artist can be a dangerous move, as you can easily be punished for your opinion by those who don't share your views on the world. They make the extra effort to collaborate with artists from Ukraine, run a fundraisers, donate to charities and also during their concerts share their thoughts about the war and its consequences.
So apart from their musical talent, I also admire them for their bravery as they speak up against injustice in the world.
As a father with a daughter who has tourettes, it can often be heartbreaking to see my daughter suddenly go into an attack like Lewis, she often has these and will stand still or make the oddest noises. I think it takes a rare man, to have it as severe as Lewis and still carry on as normal, it takes real courage. This video, is one of the reasons I admire him so much, because he simply stops and lets it happen and the crowd takes over. I have brought all his music digitally and love this guy. A real man I admire and one day, maybe go see him live.
This canadian pianist is probably my favourite classical interpreter of the XX century. He always played on a chair made by his dad, and his concerts and recordings are not liked by everybody because of his "peculiar" style (and because in some of them you can hear him humming), but, for me, his recordings of Johan Sebastian Bach's Goldber Variations are in the top for this wonderful piece. Here is the aria of one of them, recorded in 1981.
One of my favorite artists and my favorite song by this artist, for me one of the best, all of his songs are incredibly beautiful, his themes, the lyrics and the sound of each song are simply spectacular.
The first song I heard was 10 years ago when one of my schoolmates showed it to me. From that day on, I became a fan because the song I heard was spectacular and I fell in love with it from day one. Even though this great artist is no longer with us, the whole world listened to this music every day, and not just me.
Epica is in mu opinión, just on another level, and Simone Simons is hands down the most powerful and wonderful mezzo-soprano ever!! Her voice is pure magic, like how does she even do that?? 'Storm the Sorrow' is such a masterpiece, both musically and visually.
The way they made the video with all those crazy visual effects and that dark, surreal atmosphere, it's like a dream (or a nightmare? lol) coming to life. The whole thing was shot mostly with green screens, and they used a ton of CGI to create that eerie, almost haunting world. And Simone just OWNS every single f ING second of it, looking like an actual goddess. This song is so special bc it perfectly blends heaviness with melody, and her voice just soars over everything like fire. Literal chills every time!! 🔥🔥
Lead vocalist of Babymetal, currently 27 years old but started his musical career at the age of 11.
Her style may be more or less appealing, or not so appealing to classic metalheads, but she has an incredible voice, which is why she won, for example, the Female Metal Singer of 2024 Metal Award.
Her ability to achieve a very wide vocal range, to achieve superb intonation and depth even while continuously performing choreographed movements, and her stage presence, make her a superb singer and performer.
I admired this artist from the first day I listened to him and then reading his story and seeing how he lives daily, my admiration has never waned. What struck me initially was the style and the voice, I love country ... then I understood that he is a person with values and together with his wife they have adopted many children taking them off the streets. They are a living testimony of how even today there is love and important values in people
Depeche Mode has been my favorite band for 37 years and through all the years i developed a enormous admiration for the musician, songwriter and amazin singer Martin Lee Gore.
Since Alan Wilder left the band in 1995 Mr. Gore became at full time the main songwriter of the band, crafting deeply emotional and often introspective lyrics.
His ability to create memorable melodies and innovative electronic compositions has been a driving force behind the band's enduring success.
Gore possesses a tenor voice, which is naturally higher in pitch than Gahan's. This creates a beautiful and often haunting contrast in their harmonies, his singing is often characterized by its emotional depth and sincerity.
For me, these three characteristics consecrate Martin Gore as songwriter, musician and singer making of him for me a visionary whose talent has been a cornerstone of Depeche Mode's success and influence.
I love Rod Stewart because his song "Young Turks" on GTA SA radio, at that time 2010 and I play GTA SA ride on the coast San Andreas and the radio play Rod Stewart song. First time I don't know what the title song is, but I search on google " young heart be free tonight" and appears Rod Stewart : Young Turks.
From there I listened to other music and it turned out that all the songs were good, until now when I'm bored I play the songs to remember my childhood.
I really like Serj Tankian, lead singer of System of a Down, as well as having incredible and unique vocals, he uses his music to convey deep messages, injustices, wars, cultures. He is of Armenian descent and has always stressed the issue of genocide and oppression, bringing to light problems that are masked, using his influence to raise awareness.
The combination of talent and social conscience makes me admire him.
A musician I admire is Johnny Cash, I find his story inspiring and emotional! Witnessing the death of his brother from a very young age, holding the guilt from it but finding solace in music and the radio,
I admire everything he overcame in life, it showed he was human, he made mistakes but he also worked through them and made himself a better person through it.
I admire him so much that I have lyrics to one of his songs and his portrait tattooed on my thigh!
Lady Gaga is an absolute icon. Her talent is undeniable songwriting, and versatility across genres are mind-blowing. But beyond that, I admire her fearlessness. She’s never been afraid to be different, to push boundaries, and to advocate for self-expression and inclusivity. Whether it’s her music, fashion, or activism, she radiates authenticity and empowers people to embrace who they are.
The musician I admired the most was Ray Manzarek from the Doors musical group
a pianist, composer, singer and a person who created everything with his synthesizers, he produced incredible psychedelic astral sounds and he was the bass player in the group.
Adjusting his synthesizer he was the bassist of the group, he was often the second electric guitarist and also other times he was also the executor of piano , organ, violin and an incredible amount musical instruments electronic generated
I think that Ray Manzarek was the genius of The Genius, the star behind the Star in the Doors
multifaceted , multitalented , multi instrumental singer composer , arrangement producer the real one-man band
The man with a quiet, shy appearance behind the scenes the man who played the organ solo in light my fire was him who very quietly planned all that psychedelic music all that experimental sound and all that explosion that characterized the group of the Doors
And I would dare to say that at the beginning Doors would not have existed without the contribution of Ray although some time later it could not have existed without the presence of Morrison very curious
I’m a big fan of James Marriott and I originally found him from his YouTube instead of his music, when he only had an ep out. Slowly started listening to him and then bought tickets to see him on a tipsy whim whilst out with a friend. Now he’s been trending on tiktok, I got to see him on tour at Koko in Camden and has music out that everyone is hearing. Getting to watch one of your favourite musicians grow is something that puts them so close to your heart. You grow with them in a way.
I've always admired Serj Tankian, the singer of System of a Down. I've always been a big fan of the band, especially because of his voice, which really catches your attention in his songs. I've recently found several of his solo songs on YouTube, and they're all really good.
