Epic match, 89 Real Madrid against Milan. And after a long run, various dribbles comes the header from Van Basten that scores. One of the best headers ever seen in history!

What better than a goal that was so good, it's methodology was banned!

I'm turning to my beloved Coventry City in 1970 for this goal, scored by Ernie Hunt with the help of Willie Carr. The idea was that whenever a free kick was in shooting range, Carr would flick up the stationary ball with his heels and one of the waiting players would belt it on target, well, it only happened once in a game, and it caught most of the crowd and even the Match of the Day camera's off guard. On replay, you can see how effective the tactic was, with Carr's wonderfully weighted flick setting up for Hunt's vicious right-footed volley to fly into the goal.... but this goal is the reason why such tactics are banned in the modern game (there's a fact you can use on your family and friends!)

Back to 2009 when Ronaldo silenced the Vila Belmiro, Santos Stadium, at the Paulista Finals. At the time he was overweight but still made a memorable season with Corinthians.

And this was a special one, simply Golazo! Golazo!

This goal by the great Maradona in ’86 was memorable, a technical skill that was remembered that year. He started from midfield, dribbling past all the opponents who came his way, including the goalkeeper, who couldn’t stop this fantastic goal.

When it was no shiny shot, as the match was going to an end, Torres's last minute goal brought Chelsea to that year UCL's final, knocking out Barcelona.

I think it's one of the best goals because of the pressure of the moment, being one of the first to kick, especially because of the placement of the shot and the power. Apparently it was one of the best penalties in history, something even better was a perfect penalty.

For me, Ronaldo's bicycle goal in the 17/18 season against Juventos. I saw the game live and I simply loved the goal. To this day I still remember him well.

Mine has to be this one by Amad when it was United vs. City. Around the 2:45 mark, he scored an amazing goal that helped United secure the win against City!

It was the moment, the timing, everything done with so much thought and grace. You have to be blown away by this young man's talent.

For me one of the best goals I have seen, Cristiano Ronaldo vs Spain 2018

I like it a lot, because of the difficulty of the shot, the distance with the barrier and the pressure because it was one of the last plays to tie the game and it was simply a spectacular goal.

Now this is hard to say if its the best of all time, but definitely one of the best goals i ever saw, especially the fact that it was scored in the closing stages of the semi finals against netherlands AND it was analysed to have had less than 5% chance of actually being scored. It was definitely the most stressfull moment of the night for me that match.

This goal from Ronaldinho is one of the best I’ve ever seen because of all the elements combined: his dribbles, magic, the long shot that hits the crossbar, and the crowd going wild over the goal. All of it gives anyone chills. For me, the most amazing part is that he was—and still is—one of the best players alive, even today, capable of amazing anyone watching him.

This goal was one of the goals that made one of the most beautiful games in recent times possible, even though France didn't win the title, Mbappé's performance was fantastic and the match had several incredible twists and turns, basically this match was a spectacle.

Now, all joking aside...

For me football, like the vast majority of non-individual sports, requires the whole team to work together. Undoubtedly we all know players who, because of their impressive quality, are able to solve games thanks to individual interventions and incredible goals, but I will always consider a good team play as something more complex and beautiful than a simple individual genius of a great player. That's why, as an example, I give what I consider to be the best team I've seen play recently (even though I'm not a fan of theirs... hehehehehehehehe):

I've never been into football or sports at all in my life but something about the world cup and Euros brings not only the nation together, but also finally makes me cough up for that annual TV licence to watch our lions (and sometimes lionesses) play their hearts out.

England against Slovakia was a tense watch especially since we were 0-1 down up until a corner kick changed everything and Jude performs one of the greatest come-back goals (and with an overhead kick too!)
