Update: Just About's Game of the Year 2024 has been decided, counting the votes of our community of real gamers!
We're well into the final month of the year, and it's time to reflect on 2024 and what it's brought for us gamers. Or rather, it's time for you to reflect on that! Here's how you can have your say:
Use the purple 'submit' button to tell us in writing which game you think is the best that released this year, and make a case for why! There's a minimum requirement of 50 words, but more are very welcome.
Any game released on any platform from January 1, 2024 to now is eligible.
It probably doesn't need saying, but you can nominate the same game as someone else for this one - we'll tally all the votes and crown an official Just About GOTY 2024 in due course. We can't wait to hear what you think!
A brief postscript: when writing this reward, we looked back on our 2023 GOTY equivalent, in which we reflected on a "devastating year for the talented people who bring us these experiences" and hoped for brighter news in game dev in 2024. Sadly, that didn't happen.

Personally, I would vote for the game of the year "Black Myth: Wukong", an RPG game whose gameplay is very good, its story is also based on Chinese mythology representing Sun Wukong the monkey king, and its forms of attacks/skills are the same. martial arts among others can transform into humans, animals and objects. I was very captivated by the game because I love mythological stories and what better way to be Wukong! The theme of the environment, the musical background and the way of fighting, etc. I was amazed. If it were up to me I would be one of those who would vote for the game of the year 2024 😊
(I'm sorry if things are not understood very well but I am using a translator)

For me the game of the year would have to be Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, The games world is visually stunning and beautifully updated from the original game. Much like FF 7 remake you get to explore the world in much greater detail and the story of the characters have been explored in more detail. Every thing from the world environment to the combat to the improved music is appealing and they done a good job on expanding it. It's the rich in depth story of the characters which takes it to the top for the game of the year for me and I can't wait for the third installment.

Helldivers 2. This game goes back to basics, it all about jumping into a shootup with friends, without it being complicated. Story is simple, and the moments you make with your friends are worth it. I still have the recording of when my friends missile strike went through my head.
The fact it has a GM also makes it interesting as there are not many games that have a system like this. The fact that the map changes based on his decisions which then changes the strategies taken to beat back the socialist hordes and those who wish to see super earths way of life and liberty wipedout from the galaxy. Just makes a great game to have fun with

Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree
Although the game is from 2022 (I don't know if he will be eligible.) but I really liked this expansion, what this DLC brings is to enjoy it for a long time, we will have at least 10 boss fights, 8 new categories of weapons were also added and along with This new weapons, skills and equipment.
A highly recommended game in case you haven't played it, for me I personally liked it, I loved the game and this new DLC (which seems as if it were a new game) comes super recharged that's why I put it as the best of the year.

For this bounty, I nominate Sonic X Shadow Generations for Just About’s Game of the Year 2024. - I’m a huge fan of Sonic the Hedgehog and the original Sonic Generations was one of my favourite games.
The gameplay still holds up.
On the Shadow side, we get to learn more about Shadow’s past with Dr Gerald Robotnik,
Maria, and Black Doom.
I like how Sega made Shadow’s gameplay different from Sonic’s. It’s always been different but
the ability to use Black Doom’s powers makes Shadow stand out even more.
The boss battles for both Sonic and Shadow are epic. Such as Perfect Chaos, the Time Eater,
