We're well into the final month of the year, and it's time to reflect on 2024 and what it's brought for us gamers. Or rather, it's time for you to reflect on that! Here's how you can have your say:
Use the purple 'submit' button to tell us in writing which game you think is the best that released this year, and make a case for why! There's a minimum requirement of 50 words, but more are very welcome.
Any game released on any platform from January 1, 2024 to now is eligible.
It probably doesn't need saying, but you can nominate the same game as someone else for this one - we'll tally all the votes and crown an official Just About GOTY 2024 in due course. We can't wait to hear what you think!
A brief postscript: when writing this reward, we looked back on our 2023 GOTY equivalent, in which we reflected on a "devastating year for the talented people who bring us these experiences" and hoped for brighter news in game dev in 2024. Sadly, that didn't happen.
Unfortunately I didn't have the opportunity to play many new games this year, but of the ones I played, Astro Bot was definitely the most fun. An extremely satisfying game to play, with several different worlds, several Easter eggs, incredible compatibility with the Playstation controller. It was a game that I didn't have many expectations but that really surprised me. I recommend it to anyone who can play and hasn't yet given it a chance to try it, you're guaranteed to have a good few hours of fun.
We need to talk about Balatro's genius. If I came to you a year ago and said “A roguelike poker game will compete for the goty” I think you'd be called crazy. A game with an extremely simple premise but an unimaginable execution! I'm a real lover of “simple ideas, unimaginable execution” and a brief parallel I can draw is with Vampire Survivors, which is a simple walk-and-shoot game, but the execution is what changes everything. Anyway, back to balatro, we simply have to play poker, right? More or less, we're introduced to different types of decks and at first you wonder what the point is, something like “this deck doesn't contain real cards (those above ten)” and you're like “Why the hell would I want that?” until you combine it with two other cards that multiply your score precisely for cards that aren't real... NOTHING IN THIS GAME IS BAD haha. All the people I've seen criticizing its nomination for game of the year simply haven't played it, balatro is the ultimate expression of everything video games stand for: PLAYABILITY, you don't need the ultra-realistic graphics of unreal 5 or particles flying at you, you just need to have fun, and balatro brings that essence of gaming back.
I love destiny and always have, I love its guns, it's vehicles, it's story lines and let's face it, the game continues to get better and better and with this, it's just getting better. IMO this game has gone from strength to strength, immersing more and more storylines and always leaving room for more to be added. So, Destiny for me :)
I know it's not the most amazing game but tbh I haven't been playing many new games this year. But from what I have played, it is... Buckshot Roulette! 😄
This game is perfect when playing with friends at a full table and we've had so much fun from making our own rules and testing our luck (like 9 blank bullets and 1 live 😅). I know it's not the best game that came out this year but it's the only I've played so far and I can definitely recommend this if you want to spend time in a fun way.
I would recommend Tomb Raider I-III Remastered, which was released on February 14 2024. Personally, I’m a huge fan of this game I absolutely love the character Lara Croft, as well as the incredible story and gameplay.
The remaster is truly impressive offering:
Remastered graphics with high-definition textures and enhanced lighting.
Updated character models that bring Lara Croft and the game’s environments up to modern visual standards.
The ability to switch between classic and remastered graphics, giving players the choice of how they want to experience the game.
Modernized controls for greater precision, which is essential for the platforming challenges.
This game isn’t just another remaster. It honors the original legacy while updating the experience to meet today’s standards. For that reason, it stands out as one of the best games of 2024, not only for its historical significance but also for the technical quality it delivers.

Hands down, my GOTY is The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, it completely blew me away.
I’m just a casual player and not a die-hard fan of the series, but every time I pick up a Zelda game, it’s the same story: Link, Link, Link, and a helpless princess. Well, 2024 changed everything. This time, Zelda herself is ready to kick some butzz!
The new Echoes system paired with puzzles brings a unique agility to 'abuse' mechanics and go beyond scripted solutions. It’s incredibly satisfying and feels like a benchmark for game design. I wish more AAA-studios would embrace this level of creativity and freedom, instead of relying on outdated challenges like pressing certain buttons in a specific order.
Look at it like you would look at The Empire Strikes Back or The Two Towers. It's the middle of a trilogy, it has no beginning, it has no ending, and it has more questions than answers. It's the episode which gets the least appreciated... and then the 3rd part of the series will take all the awards for the previous two as well. So let's change that. Let's appreciate what Rebirth has done.
The graphics are absolutely stunning, and it presents a huge open world. Something what exceeds the wildest imagination of those who grew up with the OG game.
If you thought that Remake's battle system was perfect, then Rebirth has something new to offer with the Synergy system, where you can learn special combo moves for party members, giving you a perfect reason to replay the game again and try out different party setups as well.
Too many mini games? Yes, they can be annoying, but there is a good reason for having all of them, and if you pay close attention, you will realise that we are always forced to play them, when we would have something more important things to do. We are forced to have fun and do silly things... when we all know what is waiting at the end.
And speaking of the end. How do you remake a game, where half your playerbase wants to see that one scene again in full 8k and shiny graphics, and the other half is screaming "save her"? What do you do to give something to both of them? How can you be true to the original game and the expectations while also giving something more? By not giving what any of your players expect. By giving them questions and years to think about them.
Rebirth is misunderstood, but it's setting up for something big. Something we can't imagine just yet. So let's not make the same mistake the Oscars did with the Star Wars and Lord of the Rings trilogies. Let's show some appreciation to part 2 when it's actually due and not just when we fully understand it.
Ah, my heart still belongs to Nightingale. I truly believe Inflexion Games did an incredible job crafting a unique gaslamp fantasy world. However, since it’s still in early access and technically not fully released, it doesn’t quite qualify.
Some of my greatest gaming memories this year are tied to Satisfactory 1.0, especially meeting the passionate team behind it. The energy and dedication they poured into that project were incredible. Many fantastic games have come out this year, but if I have to pick just one, my vote goes to... Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2!
This successor to the original WH40k: Space Marine took 13 years to arrive, but it was absolutely worth the wait. While there are countless Warhammer games - just at this year’s Gamescom, I attended interviews for three of them - Space Marine 2 stands out as a true masterpiece. It delivers an absolute meatgrinder experience with combat so satisfyingly immersive, it’s hard to put into words.
If you’re familiar with tabletop WH40k, you know how the scale of the miniatures and battlefield often fails to capture the epic, colossal nature of the universe. Here’s the good news: Space Marine 2 nails it. Developers have precisely translated fans’ dreams of battles on a gigantic planetary scale. They’ve brought the Warhammer universe to life in a way that feels vast, brutal, and gloriously larger-than-life.
Now imagine if you will a game where the developers have managed to mix, the dynamic action of a Devil May Cry game, with the skateboarding shenangans of a Tony hawks game, THEN, give the user LSD and put it all in to a mix ! Well what you are left with is this absolute banging game where reality is left behind and bright neon colours are your new go to for fashion.
The Gameplay is fast paced and frantic as you go along on your hover board, named Frank ( who is also my favourite character in the game ) pulling off tricks all whilst taking out your enemies, who just so happen to be zombified Unicorns, yes you heard that right, and once more for the people in the back ! Zombified unicorns ! There are boss levels, chase scenes, colourful and creative level designs, insane action, censor beeps for everytime Frank has a go out you and plenty of customisation, all whilst keeping the rewards and how to achieve them in game, without any need for a battle pass or payment system.
The Soundtrack goes pretty hard, with its mix of EDM and sometimes metal feeling rhythms which always matches the beat of the level you are playing, chase scenes feel frantic and intense and boss fight have an air of legitimacy about them !
The game itself is made by an Indie developer from Sweden and this is only their THIRD game they have ever made, for me this is incredibly impressive and shows not only how good they are at what they do, but also the level of creativity they have and willingness to learn as they do release more games and grow as developers.
The Developers also added a Twitch integrations system which allows chatters to drop in as enemies in your game, which makes for entertaining action but also adds a nice personal touch to events, further linking streamer and community !
All in all, this game is a must have for anyone, if you like games in any capacity ! I dont care whether its Retro, Platformer or if you like cats as this game has all that but generally this game is so good, you deserve to have it in your collection. The humour is great, the designs are awesome and the game is just Fun, unadulterated fun !
The black myth of Wukong this game came from China to surprise everyone and at the time it was on everyone's lips especially because it was surprising that a game coming from China 🇨🇳
that usually makes quality games, well questionable, has made a real triple a with incredible graphics and gameplay that is sometimes novel, sometimes the same as what we already know, it is a worthy representative to make the game of the year.
Well not for the GOTY and we already know that the Astro Bots game won but I want to emphasize that this game has been a very pleasant surprise and could perfectly have been the game of the year. So my vote for game of the year.
HIS ORIGINS
And as many will know the story of Black Myth Wukong in the legendary induction story of Journey to the West from which the famous Monkey Magic series that we enjoyed on television in Latin America and the United States in the 70s
was taken and of course it was the origin of Dragon Ball also the origin of many other franchises that we know. Therefore, I wait for a second part of this successful game comes and I hope that whoever has not played it tries it.
THE GRÁFICS
The game features wonderful graphics especially because of Mother Nature that is seen with many green meadows with frozen landscapes and wide deserts.
It also highlights the use of light, the use of fog and the use of camera angles to highlight both the main character and the enemies as well as the environment which I suppose was inspired by many forests, mountains and China Valley.
THE PLAYABILITY
Of course this is the best thing about this game because as the monkey king that we are we have to use a stick and this long stick can be used in quick mode or power mode, but it also has several secret weapons
The amount of bosses is incredible, bosses, bosses in the form of water animals, fire animals, desert animals from the jungles something incredible I don't want to give more details so as not to fill this with spoilers, but how the gameplay is configured is the greatest strength of this game which is a bit RPG, a bit souls style.
But as you progress, you realize that there are a number of bosses, huge and totally different, a 100% recommended game.
THE MEDIA RELEVANCE
When the Black Myth Wukong project arrive , nobody gave a cent for it until the first gameplays began in which the famous ape-man could be seen.
And then the gameplay was shown in which the ape-man had to face different enemies that ranged from humans and animals to mystical monsters like dragons and others. Therefore, the game was gradually gaining the interest of the press and the public to the point, as I already told us, that the press only talked about it and it did become a worthy contender for game of the year.
WHY GAME OF THE YEAR..?
This year we was having very nice contenders like Astrobot , Farming Simulation, Helldivers 2 , Stellar Blade , Dragons Dogma ll , Balatro , Silent Hill 2 or Indica all of them are very good games
But in my opinion Black Myth Wukong Is the most attractive, entertaining and definitely the game of the year in my opinion and have all ingredients that make a game something unforgettable
l don’t know if this opinion will be aproved , only get sumition or not be a winner 🥇 but this is my opinion and my wish is just to reflected here
After The game awards and Astro Bot wining the game of the year of 2024, knowing all of that and I'm sure a lot of us here thinks that Black Myth Wukong would have won this year easily but what can we do :( it's over now, here are my 3 main reasons why it should have won the prise :
1. Technical ( Graphics and level designing ) :
With the incredible Unreal Engine 5, we can see that It can deliver some of the most stunning visuals ever seen in a video game, pushing the boundaries of graphical fidelity. leaving some PCs burning in this cold winter :).
2.Cultural Significance :
And what a breath of fresh air it was to see the ancient Asian ( Chines ) culture told with love for the first time in this medium, from the music to the lore to the architecture and even the variety of the NPCs that represents so much from east culture , it's a trip to remember.
3.Player Choice : ( this is after the awards )
This point should means a lot in gaming, the reception of player ( Users/Consumers) should count in giving a title the prize it deserves ...
All the year there is some gens that doesn't receive the due attention and Caravan: SandWitch is one of those games.
Caravan SandWitch is perfect combination of rich world and great plot, a it's simplicity helps those characteristics to stand out in a good way. In the skin of this young woman you have to search for your lost sister and along the way discover the mysteries of an dying and almost abandoned planet, doomed by the corporation that extract the resources from it.
Along you journey you create bonds with the remaining inhabitants of the planets, including old friends and relatives, will meet new charismatic people, find secrets under the sand and of course will find amazing landscapes and spots with the amazing cartoonist style while resolving interesting and engaging puzzles!
It had one of the strongest launches this year, even despite the PSN account controversy (which was handled adequately at worst). On top of incredibly fun third-person shooter gameplay, it has an amazing community with players working together not just in the game itself, but across the official Reddit and Discord communities as well. But my favorite part (predictably, for those who know me) is the indirect storytelling they've been able to accomplish by manually curating and managing the Major Orders presented to the playerbase. They're used to gently nudge gamers through Arrowhead's intended narrative, but the studio has shown that they're more than willing to roll with any surprises the community throws at them, as in the infamous example of players choosing to save the orphans rather than unlock new equipment.
The original Silent Hill 2 is widely considered one of the greatest horror of all time. However, the entire saga achieved its current popular success, which enormously surpasses its commercial success, only over the years, while in the early 2000s there were decidedly fewer of us, if compared to the numbers of fans of the first Resident Evils.
When it was announced in 2022 that the game would be receiving the remake treatment similar to its contemporaries like Resident Evil, Dead Space, and Alone in the Dark, the gaming community went crazy with anticipation. However, this excitement has unfortunately led to Internet bullying.
Since the reimagining of the game was developed by the Polish team Bloober Team, whose previous works are not held in high esteem (but, all things considered, there are fewer people who actually played their previous games) huge messages of hate were launched against the developers, despite working closely with Konami and even some of the Team Silent staff who worked on the original game.
Despite all this typical internet shame, development continued and now we had the chance to immerse ourselves in their revisitation as well as a new complete title of the saga after 12 years from Downpour and if we exclude Short Message which has a completely different nature as a project. (and then Book of memories doesn't exist, come on).
In terms of narrative or story, it sticks more closely to its original version here, as there is rarely a single line of dialogue changed during character interactions. I appreciated this, as the original narrative is one of the most beloved and harrowing psychological horror stories of all time. However, the microscopic changes that were made regarding the script were all for the better and only brought it closer to being just a little more relevant without losing many of the more esoteric elements of the story's presentation.
There have been a number of documents and puzzles added, but they don't change anything involving any of the main characters or their stories. Indeed, let's face it: it makes everything more fluid and coherent.
One of the biggest changes in the presentation of the story is the new voice acting and motion capture for all the characters, which are some of the best I've seen in a long time and are handled with such care and diligence that they don't trample on the original. The characters all feel more exciting and alive, and the cinematic framing of the cutscenes has improved dramatically, letting the story shine through and be even slightly more impactful than before, which is an incredible feat. Here too, it must be said that although it is a big difference with the past, it is a necessary difference, to avoid "maliciously" copying the original: times have changed, 23 years is a long time, and it is right to exploit motion capture technologies . Furthermore, being a different team from the original oriental one, the Western-style "Sergioleonesque" sequences are coherent and very pleasant.
This reimagining eliminates the cinematic fixed camera angles that so defined the first 3D generation of horror games of which the original Silent Hill 2 was a part. But times have changed, and while I will always love that style of gameplay from our generation , it wouldn't have made any sense to propose a game with those shots today.
This new SH2 demonstrates the absolute care and dedication to the art of creating a terrifying and fun video game. The amount of changes here regarding the presentation and progression of the game is staggering, always for the good: only toxic fans of the original will not be able to appreciate this new richness of detail of all the environments.
There are frequent new areas, objectives and buildings to explore, new notes and puzzles to find, and an overall expansion of the gameplay experience. This new version even likes to throw in occasional little nods to the original, where you'll find an old item or puzzle item lying around that looks exactly like it did in the 2001 version, though the game presents them as a non-interactive, nostalgic reminder of the past, a stark reminder that you are no longer playing the 2001 game.
There is therefore a very different approach to lighting and a completely new combat system. The new lighting system essentially makes the game even darker than the original, with the flashlight even dimmer than in the original game. Combined with the over-the-shoulder camera, this makes exploring the world absolutely terrifying, and the game takes advantage of the low visibility in very clever and naughty ways.
It takes inspiration from the original 2001 classic and incorporates the numerous advances made in the field of video games, fully embracing the trend of third-person games.
However, compared to well-known recent remakes, here the Bloober team has done something new: an authentic decomposition of the original, like a puzzle, and then recomposed it by adding new pieces. Silent Hill 2 (2024) by Bloober took the Remake way one step further.
Hi Vivisector - this was a tricky one for us to call. The first part of it is context not relevant to the question of what makes it Game of the Year, and that phrase doesn't occur throughout the post.
That made us wonder whether you had written it specifically for this reward, or whether you had copied it across from your website again (did you?). We'll award it this once, and we understand that as the owner of your website you're the owner of the content, but please understand that we can't set the precedent of folks entering rewards with content that's been published elsewhere first. Please ensure that your written submissions are made specifically for Just About from now on.
You may have no heard of this game. You may never have played a game with a nun as a main character before either! Indika is a third person adventure game with puzzle, minigame, and thriller elements.
When you're done playing the big action and roguelike titles of 2024, I urge you to give Indika a chance and treat it like a strange movie a friend has made you watch. This game is likely to make you feel a little uncomfortable once you meet a certain hellish companion who's known around the world. With them á̸̢̨͖͙̝͙̰͉̹͙̋̈̽͗͘̚l̷̠̠̼̱͆̏w̷̡̛̰̭͎̗̆̾͛͑̔̌̃̄̏̀͗̅ǎ̷̹̖͒y̴̟̥̮̬̬̙̖̭͙̹̺͎̺̘̻̐͋s̶̳̖̾̿̾̒̿̆̉͋͂̄͌̎ by your side, you make your way through various short-ish levels in a 19th century alternative-history place very far up north.
Saying more would spoil the experience because it isn't the longest game in the world, but I would certainly call this one of the most unique stories in 2024.
In my opinion Balatro is the game of the year, why?
Firstly, it can be played both on PC and smartphones. Secondly, it has a rather simple and interesting gameplay, forcing you to think and create a variety of combinations to pass to the next stage. Thirdly, it is quite successful in consuming time, for example, on a trip if, for example, the way to the end point is far. Fourth, balatro has an interesting and rich design with its variety of colors.
Dragon's Dogma 2 is, for me, the perfect continuation of its first part, which was already a true work of art. It continues with the premise of offering us an open world game full of details, places to explore and secrets to discover. The sense of freedom that comes from being able to roam such a vast and diverse landscape.
Combat is more dynamic and fluid than ever. Fights are intense, fast-paced and require strategy. As in its predecessor, we will face huge beasts with epic battles where the action never stops, and the possibility of combining different classes of characters to take advantage of their abilities as a team makes it tremendously deep. Add to that the pawn system, the AI-controlled companions, with their personality development and skill upgrades, and you'll grow quite fond of them over the course of the gameplay.
And its graphics are impressive with spectacular scenery and enemy design.
In short, Dragon's Dogma 2 has everything an action RPG should have: a vast and vibrant world with challenging and fun combat and gameplay that keeps you hooked from the very first minute.
Stellar Blade is an amazing game that deserves to win Game of the Year (even though it wasn’t nominated).
The story is emotional and powerful, focusing on Eve, who fights to save humanity in a ruined world. The characters feel real (almost), and the choices you make can change how the story ends. This makes it exciting and personal.
The combat is fast and smooth, with a mix of melee attacks and cool special moves. It feels like games like Nier: Automata (they’ve must felt it as well to make a colab) or Devil May Cry, but more unique. Boss fights are very intense and need strategy, not just button-mashing. The game also looks stunning, with detailed characters and beautiful environments.
What makes it special is the deep story, incredible visuals, and gameplay that feels rewarding. It’s not just about action, it’s also about exploring, solving problems, and feeling connected to the world and characters and their troubles
Many games are great this year, (Silent Hill for example)but Stellar Blade stands out because it balances action, story, and beauty (and other rounder things too).
It’s a game that feels fresh and unforgettable, and it shows what video games can achieve. It truly deserves to be called the best of the year.
Absolutely love Stellar Blade, and it's my personal GOTY! I think the moment-to-moment is so fun, and I love the general vibe of that world with the music and everything.
I think Marvel Rivals can be considered one of the revelation games despite having been released at the beginning of December. To be so new it has a very good potential apart from that it manages to get you inside the game, creating an environment of constant competitiveness depending on the point of view.
Balatro (2024) There is a lot to say about gaming where the core appeal comes from: the graphics, sound, art design, accessibility, story etc. but what makes games uniquely games is the 'gameplay'. Strip out all the visual and audio elements and is the game still fun to play?
And that's where Balatro excels. It doesn't need the fancy polygons, or symphony soundtrack, or hollywood level voice acting. Just some cards, some stats, and your fingers and mind to get through each level.
People de-cry this mobile game but if we have to take gaming back to its roots and focus on the core gameplay loop - then we can't discount the fact Balatro has proven this fact alone is enough to be nominated amongst more visually advanced games like: Black Myth Wukong, Silent Hill 2 Remake, and Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth
This year, several titles deserve the GOTY award in my opinion. Among them, I can’t help but mention Wukong and Astro Bot, both of which have already been nominated in the GOTY category at the TGA 2025. Let’s start with Wukong. Why should it win the GOTY? Sure, it’s essentially a classic soulslike, with a somewhat familiar feel, but it manages to stand out from the crowd.
I loved the environments, the freedom to explore, and the many bosses you can encounter—some are main bosses, while many others are secret. The ability to chain combos and skills, use many of them in battle, and enjoy a fast-paced, frenetic gameplay despite being a soulslike kept me hooked throughout the entire experience.
As for Astro Bot, I think it’s one of the best platformers in recent years. It’s fun, challenging in some levels, visually stunning, and has a soundtrack that sticks in your head for days. This year, it’s a tough competition, but either way, whichever of these two titles wins, I’m fine with it.
A game that keeps me very attached to the screen is Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. It has very nice graphics and a soundtrack worthy of the film. The puzzles or mysteries within the game are impressive and you have to work hard to find the solution, the physics of the fights with the famous whip are very satisfying. Exploration keeps you very busy and I loved being able to take photos of monuments or important places like the sphinx or fill in the diary. I also really appreciated the diary for being able to consult the maps instead of having the usual menu and above all it keeps the hud very clean.
In Indiana Jones you can experience pure exploration with places in the world reproduced very well and above all beautiful visually. In my opinion, it deserves to be the best game of 2024.
I'm going to go out on a limb and vote for Helldivers 2. Here's why:
Note: I know a lot of the original player base have a bad taste in their mouth from the whole Sony PSN account linking thing. But the players made their voices heard, the devs & Sony listened, so that leaves us with the game, which kicks ass. Unfortunately those Steam reviews remain.
The release. It created the strongest comradery I've seen amongst gamers in years. Servers were crashing because so many were trying to get in and protect Super Earth with their friends. Xbox players were begging for the game to be released on their console so they could contribute to the movement. It was beautiful.
The gameplay. Holy crap the gameplay. I dont think any drug could top the feeling of neatly pinning a 500kg eagle bomb to a bile titan's head. Or calmly watching a horde of sillouhetted robots charging toward you and your teammates as they step over several orbital strike beacons, which turn them, and the ground they walked on, into dust.
The tone. There is a constant message that you are the last bastion for Super Earth (which sounds like it was named by a 6 year old). You are "crucial to the survival of mankind." But in reality, you're but one soldier in a long line of soldiers cryogenically frozen, ready to get warmed up like microwavable dinners and thrown into the harshest conditions to fight armies that have one purpose; to kill you. They praise your bravery, you risk your life, and on the off-chance that you make it back to your ship, they're "generous" enough to give you a few medals that can only be spent on new weapons or ship upgrades, so you can keep doing your job. You can't even get a new helmet or cape without first saving up your own credits that you get by stumbling over them in the field. Does that sound like a soldier who's contributions are valued? The commentary is hillarious and grim.
Overall, the gameplay, the commentary, and the community are all reasons to play this game. And I've enjoyed the heck out of it this year.
For me, it's all about Farming Simulator 25. The wait was long, but it was well worth it. The graphics are stunning, reflecting the immense effort that went into making this game outstanding. Giants decision to include many mods from FS22 in FS25 was brilliant, demonstrating their commitment to listening to players—a rarity in game development. The gameplay is smooth, and the change in menu colors from blue and grey to green and dark grey makes a significant visual impact. The green speedometer and interface are pleasing to the eyes.
While the game did have some bugs at release, it's not unusual for new games. Importantly, there were no critical bugs at launch, indicating the high quality of work Giants put into the game. They quickly released a patch to address minor issues, further proving their responsiveness to player feedback.
The introduction of NPCs and additional missions in a simulation game sets Giants apart in this genre. I particularly enjoy the new building missions, such as constructing a grain mill museum on the Riverbend Springs map and a temple on the Hutan Pantai map. These features add depth and engagement, making Farming Simulator 25 a standout for me.
I love Open World games because they allow us to explore vast worlds and customize our characters in unique ways. For me, the story, music, and graphics are equally important elements that make the experience unforgettable. In terms of gameplay, I really enjoyed it, and the difficulty level when fighting bosses was both challenging and exciting. That’s my opinion on the best game of 2024.
This awesome game has a huge attention for several reasons, that for me and millions of us makes this title an unbeatable contender.
Mythical story based on the 16th century Chinese novel Journey to the West , Amazing and engaging combat style, immersive gameplay, stunning grafics and solid performance in every hardware from Consoles to PC.
The best of all, is that Black Myth: Wukong doesn't have the new negative influence that most of today's games use to come, and as gamers we really appreciate that, the Overwhelmingly Positive reviews give us a brief about it.
As a side note, this game brings good memories of the TV show from the 80's called Monkey Magic that i used to watch as a kid. This a good moment to be alive and witness this. 😊
For me, the game that entertained me the most this year was Silent Hill 2 Remake. Personally, I am passionate about horror games, but that doesn’t mean my opinion is solely based on personal taste. After all, Silent Hill delivered an impressive atmosphere, graphics, audio, and visual elements. Being a faithful remake, it also preserved the phenomenal story of the original Silent Hill 2 from PlayStation 2. Of course, some aspects fell short, such as certain animations and the combat system. Additionally, the game features a very clean HUD (which I appreciate), and the idea of having James—the game's protagonist—hold the map of the town when you press the button to open it, rather than simply displaying a separate window, was brilliant.
For sure! But, considering it was a "Konami's return" to game industry, I do believe it's okay to make a remake just to get their feet wet again. Hope for new Silent Hill's games in the future.
Farming Simulator 25 is a great choice, as it is an exfesnsion on the previous title in the same series, showcasing a wide range of crops, animals and machinery. I love to relax doing some tractor work, and planning what crops to plant to get the biggest harvest and income
Hi wsnake2015, this is just a friendly reminder that we're currently an English-language-only platform. We'd like to add more language support in the future, but in the meantime I recommend using a free online translation tool for posts on our platform.
It’s rare these days that a game really gets me massively interested and super hooked. I only played a handful of 2024 releases & nothing really satisfied me long enough to call out specifically. So comment rather than an entry.
I played a lot of Fortnite & my game mode of the year is the fps 5v5 Ballistics early access. I think it has huge potential for 2025 to have ranked competitive scene while also being easily accessible/ casual low barrier to entry compared to the competition & their communities.
Elite Dangerous should be Game of the Year for its vast, immersive simulation of the Milky Way, offering unparalleled exploration, player freedom, and a dynamic living universe. Its ongoing development, community engagement, and the introduction of new gameplay elements like the "Odyssey" expansion enrich its depth and replayability. Posts on X and web content highlight its authenticity, overwhelming scale, and passionate community, making it a standout title in 2024. 🫡
Despite its flaws and things to improve considerably, I would make "First of Descendant" the game of the year. Surely there are many things that developers need to work on, but the settings such as the characters, accessories and skins, make this game graphically impactful. The mechanics are simple and the community is quite large.Remember: text submissions must be at least 50 words!
I think the best Game of the year of 2024 was The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom! I feel like it is such a complete game and fun experience, it has everything you want from a game. Fun puzzles, fights and art-style. All the Zelda games have always been incredibly good of course, so it is no surprise this one is so good too. It's definitely a must if you enjoy going on epic adventures!
For me, the TGA got the game of the year right! Astro Bot was the best game I played this year by far! I like to have an opinion only of the games I've played and, having a PS5, Astro Bot delighted me too much! I got to play the short VR demo on PS4 and had already seen a lot of potential there, but what we had this year was completely surreal, the game has extremely immersive mechanics, a gameplay that varies in various styles and mechanics, has a coherent difficulty, makes perfect use of dualsense... I'm speechless, it was a game that nobody gave much thought to and it turned out to be a great surprise!

For mme the best game of 2024 is "Dragon ball Sparking Zero", I played it on my Ps 5 and it's crazy, the gameplay is funny and the graphic is very good.
I really liked it and I think a lot of people are with me.
